9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely house with great location. Dominique was very warm and helpful. This is a special place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a delight to be a guest in this beautiful home. Dominique and her husband are gracious and charming and made us feel like welcome friends. Our room was spacious and looked out on their beautiful garden. Our stay was perfect and we look forward to having the chance to visit again.
Cons: There was nothing that could make this stay better. It was perfect.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect staff with attention to detail.
Cons: Rien !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was superb. We looked out the window straight at the spires of the Cathedral. Our room was clean and welcoming with tea and coffee facilities and continental breakfast included in the price. Hosts were friendly and made suggestions for restaurants etc. We were also able to leave our luggage when we checked out until we caught our late afternoon train to Paris. Chartres is an amazing place to visit and so close to Paris. The illumination of the Cathedral, and other landmarks, at night was really special to see.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Locational perfect in walking distance to everything. It was a private home Dominique was lovely
Cons: Rooms are on the second floor. If you have heavy luggage this could present a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You can see the Cathedral from the bedroom window, and it is a 3 minute walk. Dominique was a gracious hostess, and the .room was large and comfortable. We had a wonderful meal at Esprit Gourmand, which was also a short walk
Cons: The only negative was the fact that you cannot drive up to the house, so we parked in a lot a couple of blocks away and rolled our luggage. This is stated in the info and was not a real problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of it
Cons: None of it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location, within steps of the cathedral. Sparkling clean. Very comfortable bed. Large and lovely bathroom. Great breakfast. Great hosts.
Cons: Parking was a little difficult.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It felt as if you were a guest In a very nice. private home. The house was a stone’s throw away from the newly restored cathedral that will take your breath away. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern and the room beautifully furnished. Make sure to explore Chartres en Lumieres, which is a nightly light display in season. It is truly amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place to stay! Beautiful home, incredible hostess and just steps away from the Cathedrale! I enjoyed having breakfast with other guests and making those connections. I was travelling alone and felt very safe and supported.
Le Parvis - Chartres - Bar
2
9.1 Excellent (756 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Le Parvis is located at the foot of the Notre Dame Cathedral in the historical district of Chartes. It offers air-conditioned accommodation with free Wi-Fi access. Each room is individually themed and equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar and a radio. Rooms have a seating area and private facilities. Le Parvis's restaurant serves traditional French cuisine from 11:00 to 17:00. Hotel Le Parvis is just a 5 minute walk from the train station. It is a central base from which to explore the city’s main attractions.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was unique and rustic but very close to the cathedral and the light show. Staff was excellant and helpful. Lots of stairs but worth the climb to les Anges room. We enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If your definition of "close" to Chartres Cathedral is defined by stepping out of your bedroom and arriving inside the cathedral in 30 seconds flat, Le Parvis is the place for you. Located on the cathedral square, with several nice restaurants on the same square, there is no need to leave the immediate vicinity, which was a wonderful respite from several action packed days in our travel itinerary. Venture into the Old Town and follow the Circuit Touristique if time allows. Le Parvis's restaurant was closed the two nights we stayed, which wasn't a problem since the square has nice options. An excellent breakfast is served, even when the restaurant is closed. Highly recommended property. Accommodations and breakfast are very nice, and the location can't be beat.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great fun selecting breakfast with super friendly waitress who only speaks french. Staff are lovely. Definitely not a standard chain hotel. Best if you value character, staff and location over perfect joinery. During summer the light show in centre of town -exceptional - is yards away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and a great breakfast
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel ... can’t get closer to the cathedral . Big , big shower !! Bed was very comfortable , room was quiet . The door upstairs that leads outside was a treat . I highly recommend ...
Cons: It was all very nicely done ... no complaints
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I came to Chartres for the cathedral , Hotel le Parvis is almost on church property . Could not get a better location ! The rooms have character , the decorating is eclectic ! Biggest showers in Europe !!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location soo close to the beautiful Cathedral. The staff was helpful and spoke enough English to share necessary info. The outdoor seating was the perfect spot to gaze upon the famous landmark and relax. Breakfast was included too
Cons: The parking is a few blocks away.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good, especially local produce. Location on the parvis de Notre Dame recently cleaned and sparkling could not be bettered. Fortunate to get owner's parking space - otherwise parking could have beena nightmare, particularly as the road outside is under repair (and the property's veranda on the side of the rue du cheval blanc.
Cons: Not sure about the circular bed
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, modern bathroom, mini fridge, quirky door locks
Cons: I could see where it could be noisy, but for us the street was quiet, so we had a great night's sleep
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous. The breakfast was absolutely terrific, very much in the French tradition people expect. The location can't be beat- in the courtyard outside the magnificent cathedral. We appreciated the age of the building in relationship to the location in the square. The creaky doors & floors add to the charm and the building is undergoing some additional restoration work on the back end. The additional value of having free parking in the public parking garage only a short walk away from the hotel is most appreciated. Looking out the window onto this most wonderful historic area, whether it be onto the cathedral square or the side street to us were most desirable ! There are many interesting shops, restaurants, bars within a few block area, certainly not lacking in activities! We hope to be back soon!
Cons: While this does not affect us, if a traveler has mobility issues, they would have difficulty at this property. Otherwise our stay was terrific.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Best breakfast we had in France. Simply could not eat it all. Lovely staff
5.6 Okay
Pros: Great location, excellent room, very good breakfast, value for money. But see below.
Cons: We booked a room for the night of 16 December 2010. We went out to dinner in the evening. When we returned, at about 9.30pm, the hotel was locked and there was nobody there. It transpired that we were the only residents and the staff had left for the night. It was raining very hard and extremely cold. After much banging at the front door, which was fruitless, we went to a neighbouring restaurant. An extremely pleasant young man there (at Le Bistrot de la Cathedrale) contacted the Parvis staff who told him we should use our room key. Long story short, the key did not work. Finally the staff member turned up and let us in, acknowledging that it was the front door lock which did not work. It was by now sub-zero temperature. Not happy.
7.7 Good
Pros: Very Individually French - lovely warm atmosphere - many unique features - very comfprtable - excellent breakfast - other good restaurants very close
7.0 Good
Pros: It has character, charm and perfect location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel... Nothing to much trouble.. Everything worked ...loads of hot water ..good position.. Good food.. Owner was away his mother made us feel very welcome and at home...
Cons: None
6.3 Good
Pros: We stayed for two nights with a view to visiting the cathedral and old town at our leisure, so the location was ideal. The hotel is of interesting character, where uneven floors and doors which don't quite fit properly are all part of its quirky charm. Our room, Les Louis, was warm and comfortable, with a novel shower and a surprise kitchenette in a cupboard. Internet access was fine. We were given a friendly reception by the proprietor, and we enjoyed reasonably priced, unpretentious meals on both evenings. A plentiful, traditional breakfast was served.
Cons: On arrival, we had to unblock the sink in the bathroom. The lighting was dim, making it difficult to read. Not the hotel's fault, but parking is at a premium in Chartres. We could possibly have used the nearby underground car-park, at the hotel's expense, but chose not to risk it because of our vehicle's height. Luckily, we found a space just outside, but feeding the meter was not cheap.
6.7 Good
Pros: Excellent location, small and friendly hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent friendly staff. Lovely location right in the centre of Chartres old town. Great breakfast and evening meal also. Parking permit is given for parking.
Cons: Car park is a walk away but it is definately worth the short 3 minute walk.
6.8 Good
Pros: Quirky hotel but really good. Great central Chartres location. Great room. Excellent food, we had lunch, dinner & breakfast.
Cons: Parking is an issue but definitely worth the hassle for the location.
7.6 Good
Pros: Excellent staff and management.
Cons:
6.0 Good
Pros: Interesting decor, comfortable bed. Very close to cathedral
Cons: No tea/coffee facilities or glasses. No soap or shampoo.
Overview Reviews
The Best Western Premier® Grand Monarque Hotel & Spa is a famous first class hotel offering modern comfort while keeping the charm of an old beautiful house. The hotel's elegant service, nice restaurant, private garage and location in the heart of chartres, next to the cathedral, museums, and old town will make your stay unforgettable. Enjoy your stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: After flying from Sydney (24 hours), it was relaxing to have a comfortable bed!
Cons: The food service was slow and having to ask for a drink twice, unacceptable. Breakfast was a similar operation … dishishs where not refilled/replaced, you had to ask!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, the nicest and most helpful staff I've ever seen (hi, Alexander!), good breakfast, large room with a rest zone, the design, separate WC. They have a water pool (jacuzzi and water massage areas, guys!) and SPA zone, beauty salon, good restaurant, lounge zone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service , comfortable rooms and location
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff could not have been more helpful - getting my car which was parked nearby when I checked in, giving directions, pointing our the light show of summer, which turned out to be spectacular..
Cons: It's an old building and a bit faded in part. Not enough plugs for charging all the things we need to charge these days, but that is common in older hotels.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Central location was excellent for the cathedral and tourist dotto train. Brasserie restaurant provided a quality menu and dinner was very good. Staff were very helpful in carrying luggage from the car which was parked initially in a side street adjacent to the hotel. Secure (chargeable at EU10.00) valet parking available.
Cons: Being on a main road with trams, access by car to the front of the hotel was somewhat tortuous if one approached, as we did, from the South. A note for guidance on the hotel’s web site would have assisted.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big room, comfortable bed, good staff, excellent location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast warrants a mixed review. I would have hope for a considerable variety of prepared fresh fruit salad etc. Nothing was prepared, eg whole banana, apple etc. The fresh juices were very good, eg orange. The tables are very small and so the waiters / waitresses should be around and attentive to removed used crockery etc. In the evening of our stay, we ate in the Bistro. The service was very attentive and excellent.
Cons: The last time we stayed, when it was raining hard, the valet came to our car unrequested and helped with the luggage and then parked my car in the hotel carpark. This time, the valet was nowhere to be seen and even if he had been, I was politely told as I had no reserved parking space I would have to take my car to the public parking. Help and advice regarding parking etc when booking should be essential. Also, I booked a higher standard of room this time compared to last, but I felt that it did not measure up to my expectations. Finally, the teasmade was connected to a plug which was not suitable for this device. the staff seemed to be aware of this type of problem with the plugs but it was arranged in this way to suit their aesthetics. To get it to work, I had to put the device on the floor due to a short lead, in a different area of the room in a fresh plug. Crazy!
10.0 Excellent

4
9.0 Excellent (195 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Le Clos Chedeville places you in the heart of Chartres, within a 15-minute walk of Chartres Cathedral and Fine Arts Museum of Chartres. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location - very handy for walking into town but felt like you were out in the countryside, with lots of trees and birds etc, set back from the road so no passing traffic noise. Friendly host. Large, comfortable bed and nice-quality linen, spacious bedroom. Powerful shower, plenty of thick towels in bathroom. Well equipped - tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge, microwave, cutlery, glasses and plates provided. More tea and bottled water provided when requested. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, with croissants, bread and jam, yoghurt, dried fruit and nuts. Interestingly furnished with a mix of 'antiques'. Plenty of parking and the owner kindly let us leave the car after check out while we walked into town.
Cons: The room was not quite ready even though we arrived during the allotted time. The room was not refreshed on the second day and we had to ask for more tea bags and water, and for washing up to be done (see below). A note in the room asked us not to wash up in the (very small) sink but dirty crockery was not taken away. Only one bottle of water provided at a time, one each would be better. Quite a few cobwebs - especially in the toilet! With a little bit more attention to detail, this could be a top-notch accommodation.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, only 10-15 min walk to the city center. The home was extraordinary, very stylish with nice garden, singing birds and great breakfast. Special thanks to the owner who was very welcoming and helpful.

Cons: The elevator was broken which made it difficult to manage a heavy suitcase up and down s flight of stairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff and great breakfast
Cons: Hotel was perfect for our needs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Good, clean hotel. Breakfast fantastic value.
Cons: Clean, tidy and comfortable. Safe and secure. Nothing was too much for the excellent staff. Wonderful value.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very clean, spotless. Very good selection of breakfast items and of high quality.
Cons: The reception closed at 9.00 pm and there were no staff on duty to book us in for 2 rooms. We arrived a little later than 9.00 pm and found it very fiddly and annoying trying to access the hotel and our bedrooms having to use a computer terminal outside the hotel. This issues a paper receipt with an access code to the room and entrance. So easy to lose or leave in the room and that would cause problems in itself. Reception should be open until 11 pm to welcome guests and also to deal with any problems or emergencies that may arise.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Staff very attentive. machines not very good
Cons: The sweet machine !!! kept my money!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff
Cons: 1 towel per person
6.3 Good
Pros: Value for money both the accomodation, and breakfast. Comfy bedrooms. On-site parking. Ideally situated to use as a stop off when road tripping from the UK to Southern France.
Cons: Unfortunately one of our rooms had an annoying noise coming from the room next door, which meant some of our guests didn't get much sleep, and spoilt the next day.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, clean, friendly staff, good beds
Cons: Difficult to locate
9.6 Excellent
Cons: No soap - spoilt anotherwise perfect. Very good new hotel.

With beautiful views of the cathedral, our hotel in Chartres can host your business events. To relax, start the day on the right footing with a delicious breakfast buffet rich in local produce, or enjoy a drink in the comfortable armchairs in our lounge bar.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is great - right in the centre of Chartres. The breakfast was expensive and just OK. The room was clean and a really good size. The staff were pleasant. Overall the hotel is fine for a short stay but has little character or ambiance.
Cons: There was a buzzing noise, all night every 30 minutes or so, in our room. As loud as a doorbell. We thought it came from the A/C but it continued even when the unit was switched off. We were only staying one night and so I mentioned it as we checked out. Hope it get's fixed but if not, avoid room 100.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: You advertised parking this did not exist and as I had chosen the property because of the parking I was very disappointed
7.1 Good
Pros: Good breakfast. Excellent location near cathedral.
Cons: No face flannels. No restaurant.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly situated for a 2 night visit
Cons: All fine
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast one of the best.
Cons: Car parking. Had I been told that car parking was not available I would not have come to you but chosen another hotel. The added car park fee made the stay more expensive than I was expecting
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fine
Cons: Paper cups and dreadful tea in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's easy access to the city
Cons: There's no parking
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, very comfortable, great location
Cons: Hotel parking would have been better. However, located in the city centre makes this impossible
5.0 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: There were many things. Small thin towels, the floors were sticky, the breakfast room was messy and spills not cleaned up, bowls, spoons, juice, fruit salad, cheese, milk ran out and I had to ask for replacement, staff not very helpful with directions or restaurants, etc. No toiletries in bathroom except for shower gel, I was told to shampoo with shower gel. Non-heat resistant cups in room for coffee and tea. Shower head would drop so only the wall got wet, could not be adjusted.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast arrangement was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive, this all added to the overall pleasure of the stay.
Cons: One day our room wasn't done by the time we went back for a rest in the afternoon. This was disappointing. They may hve done it later but we didn't want to be disturbed.

8.3 Excellent (1,096 reviews)

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and an elevator. This hotel has 4 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast a little less brilliant than last year.... however bread plentiful, pain au chocolate and croissants too plentiful for those with little resistance. Eggs pre-scrambled okay, boiling an egg was an option and cold meats available. Fruit and coffee plentiful with good cultery and napkins... very good knives... What I would like to add is that the Dinner in Hotel Restaurant the evening of our arrival was fabulous. The plat du jour inluded a good steak and mashed potatoe with dijon mustard. Very good value.
Cons: A lift to Room in the 400 range would have been appreciated - howver the quite outlook onto the industrial estate was probably preferable to the view of the Dual Carriageway on opposite side of corridor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We did not have breakfast.
7.9 Good
Pros: The friendly staff and the cleanness of the room.
Cons: The walls are really thin.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely comfortable hotel. All staff very friendly. Huge selection for breakfast. We were only passing through en route to our home in Spain but it would be a good location for anyone visiting Chartres.
Cons: Nothing. All good.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff were very accommodating.
Cons: Nothing really.
6.0 Good
Pros: this hotel was a mid journey stopover, but didnt expect to be in an industrial estate, how naive, the room however was quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom good. There are alternative restaurants in the vicinty so reasonable choice. Breakfast was good, all you can expect but additional to the hotel rate.
Cons: The hotle provided what we wanted, no more no less.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast had a lot of variety of foods which were all easy to find, including fruit and tasty bread. The staff were courteous flexible and helpful, with good command of English. The location has the advantage of several other resturants for a choice of evening meal.
Cons: The scrambled egg looked like it had been cooked hours before and was hard and cold.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Reasonable
Cons: Ordered wine in a carafe. We found a foreign body floating on the top. Complained and cancelled. No apology from the staff at all. Ordered water 'twice' from different waiters. None arrived. We found also that we had been charged for this wine !!!. It was cancelled but again no apology. We also left a mains adapter in a socket. We contacted the hotel and was told we would have to pay nearly 13 Euros for it's return. They need to be educated on customer care.

Cons: Separate toilet in bedroom, prefer to have it in the bathroom.
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff seemed friendly enough and the pool was really well looked after. Not heated though but no problem as it was 28 degrees so nice to cool off.
Cons: Communal areas (apart from the pool) needed a bit of a clean. Hallway stairs needed a hoover and when we sat down for an evening drink, the table outside wasn't cleared of old drinks and an ashtray even when we asked a member of staff if they could do it.

Pros: In a quiet location and not many minutes drive from Chartres. You could open the window if you wished and there was a kettle in the room. Bed was comfortable and the parking is plentiful. Room looked out onto the countryside
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Shower attachment was broken so only fixed head worked (room 6)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great quality / price. Nice restaurant.
Cons: Maintenance needed in the room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: When we went to bed in our room the bedding absolutely smelt disgusting - cigarette smoke. I guess it must be where the cleaners have a sly cigarette in the laundry room or something! I mentioned this the next day when we checked out and was told that I should have mentioned this the previous night. As we were in bed I wasn't going to get dressed again and complain at that point! Wish I had now as we would have been allocated a different room maybe. We had the princely sum of 7 euros knocked off our bill!!! Will not use this hotel again as I thought that was derisory.
Cons: The discount the next day could have been better as we stay in this hotel twice a year and have done for the past 3 years
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All really good
Cons: Nothing

8.8 Excellent
Pros: A superb view over the square to the Cathedral. Only a few minutes walk away to the cathedral. Useful as you may want to visit the historic area both by day and by night when the light show on the front of the cathedral is fabulous.
Cons: I like secure parking when I am travelling by car. The parking is secure but it is about 50 yards from the hotel. There is a space provided to park for 15 mins outside the hotel to drop cases but it was taken up by someone else for a considerable time when we arrived. Staff are helpful in describing how to get to the car park. I was sorry that the Hotel were unable to supply a trolley on checkout as we had some items of heavy luggage to take back to the car.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Superba location. Great staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: Not much.
7.1 Good
Cons: The bathroom was too small and the toilet did not flush easily in fact very difficult.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The approach to this Hotel was pleasing, I could see it was an up to date location, nice reception area and a pleasant welcome. The room, although small was more than adequate with the large, very comfortable bed,and of course a view of the wonderful Cathedrale, and the pedestrianised area to the front of the hotel. The bathroom was very pleasing, with space to put your toiletries etc, a bath and a shower head that can be reached for hair washing, which I don't usually get in most hotels, the hair dryer was hand held rather than those awful over heated machines on walls, so could be plugged in near a very large mirror in the room. Breakfast was a simple choice, of the usual French style, could have probably been few extra items for a hotel of this size, but still all acceptable. The bar area with a jazz theme to the music was very nice, somewhat expensive, I ordered a cocktail which arrived in what could only be described as a jam jar with a handle, so that was disappointing, more suited to a beach hotel, especially at 10 euro's, my partner's Calvados was also 10 euro. B
Cons: Having to leave to travel home! But seriously, we didn't have anything to dislike ,only the high prices in the bar.
7.0 Good
Pros: The friendly reception and the helpfulness during our short stay. We had a wonderful view on the cathedral from the restaurant.
Cons: The bar could be opened after dinner time for a „good night“ Drink.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent with a great view of the cathedral from our room and everything within easy walking distance. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We were upgraded to a suite which was a lovely surprise on arrival. Would recommend staying there for sure.
Cons: Next to a busy road which would be noisy with windows open in summer but when closed they were good sound insulators. Lack of shower curtain.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location to cathedral was within a short walking distance, we had parking through hotel, and their restaurant served a delicious evening menu.
Cons: It was a little noisy as our windows had a cathedral view we faced the street. Buses and other vehicles made the early morning hours noisy.
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly and efficient reception. Great location. Did not use restaurant so cannot comment. Room reasonable size with good view of the cathedral. Bathroom recently refurbished. Good parking available on request.
Cons: Room although generally clean was let down by dirty tissues in the wardrobe and hairs on the bed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Great view of cathedral. Helpful staff. Food in restaurant very good.
Cons: Room small for the price.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very central, nearby parking if hotel parking is full. Good choice of nearby restaurants, pizzeria, cafes. Hotel wine/platter bar was popular-menu looked very good. Super bed with down quilt and pillows. Very clean hotel.
Cons: No air-conditioning which could be a problem if it was warmer than 20 degrees Celsius - it wasn’t an issue for us as we had two windows and temperatures of 19 degrees. No uht milk/creamer for coffee, no breakfast t bags Telephone in room was dead, had to ring from mobile for reception.

7.9 Good
Pros: Perfect position for the city.
Cons: A couple of issues with the room. We have stayed at this hotel at least 10 times and this is the first time we have had problems
7.5 Good
Pros: location, location, location and breakfest
Cons: Dated and worn
7.5 Good
Pros: The location made it perfect to walk into Chartres and you could go a couple of ways.
Cons: The fact we couldn't get to the outdoor area unless we were going to eat at the restaurant. The rooms were really really tiny. We were glad to only be there one night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I like the location close to the old town with parking, and beside the river. Good choice for breakfast.
Cons: It’s a bit shabby. Parking awkward to use.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent everything was wonderful. Great location. Great staff. Wonderful breakfast!!! Nice park path to the cathedral.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great position - could walk to the cathedral from hotel and we had a lovely view of the cathedral from our room. Also, a nice walk along the river behind the hotel. Good chef!We had a very enjoyable dinner at this hotel - the menu was varied, the food was served promptly and with friendly service.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
7.9 Good
Pros: Secure parking was a bonus even with tight access and movement. Close to town centre with a steep walk in but well worth it. Room, although not large, was clean and well furnished. Generally staff were helpful and courteous during our three day visit to Chartres. Breakfast was adequate and we did use on site restaurant, although more about that later. Would visit hotel again if passing through.,
Cons: Because we used town centre restaurants at lunchtime, rather than return to them in the evening we did use the hotel restaurant for the three evenings for a simple meal booking via reception for 7.30pm each evening. On the second evening when we arrived we were told in no uncertain terms that we were late, it was 7.30, and that we could not enter with the next free time being 9.45pm! Another group of four guests were also refused at the same time and went elsewhere. At that moment, the restaurant was empty, apart from one group of 12 at one table. Apparently the staff cannot cope with too many guests at any one time - hardly a recommendation!! After a heated exchange we gained the support of the hotel manager and were allowed to enter and were served a perfectly adequate meal. The fact that this restaurant is rated at 150 out of 170 plus restaurants in Chartres suggests that our experience is not the only reason for its poor rating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and easy to get to, secure parking a bonus for motorcycles
Cons: All good
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely view of the cathedral ,a large very quiet room with air conditioning
Cons: All good
6.7 Good
Pros: Reliable Ibis hotel with all the needed hotel facilities. Staff were friendly.
Cons: Although it was a relatively short uphill walk to the Cathedral and town, the location was rather isolated and on the “back side” of the town. There were no shops and only one not great looking restaurant near the hotel. I was on my own and didn’t see the Sound and Light show at the cathedral at night as the roads were empty and it didn’t feel comfortable to do so.

Pros: This is a prefect hotel to stay on the way to somewhere else. The staff was lovely. The room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. I would recommend this hotel.
7.1 Good

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good clean room. Good food
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious bathroom and good shower. Bed comfortable
Cons: Would have liked more menu choices on dinner menu
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and nice rokms, good location for car vagabonds.
Cons: The Hotel didnt provide us the triple-bed room we had booked.
7.5 Good
Pros: The bed was comfy and the shower was great!
Cons: The outside areas look a little tired, balconies etc could do with a spruce up!
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was fairly small but quiet and comfortable, located in a two storey building to the side of the Reception and dining area. Out of town location but not too far to drive to Chartres centre and its wonderful cathedral. Excellent shower. Breakfast was fine, usual buffet affair.
Cons: Air conditioning very weak, hardly noticeable, and after a long journey we needed it as it was early August and very hot. We were on the first floor, stairs being on the outside. The windows opened onto a long front balcony which other guests walked past to get to their own rooms and it did not feel very private at times, with conversations going on outside. This is a minor matter however. Seemed a bit dated compared to the Campanile in Tours where we had stopped the night before, but that was brand new. It was all very adequate for an overnight stop on our way back to Cherbourg.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing really springs to mind.
Cons: I booked a triple room for myself and my daughter but was told i had to erect the spare bed myself. The room was not big enough to pull out the bed so we had to share. Fortunately there were only two of us. Pillows were uncomfortably hard and lumpy. Bed cover was stained and pulled and the carpet was stained. The shower didn't work properly despite following instructions. Breakfast was ok but croissants were mix of fresh and stale. A disappointing stay.

Pros: Uncomplicated
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: It was an ideal stop over clean linen and towels.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Staff unhelpful. Directions on website . Name of hotel different from the actual name on the hotel. No kettle. Tiny room. No lift.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, the bedlinen & towels were very clean and the room was a good size. Having read some of the reviews of this hotel I nearly changed my mind about going there but I’m glad I did go as it was great value for money. The shower was fabulous and in a nice big very clean bathroom. I had asked for a room near an exit because we had 2 dogs with us and that was exactly what I got and we weren’t charged extra for the dogs which was a very pleasant bonus. All in all it was great value for money and I wouldn’t hesitate to go there again. We did not have the breakfast as we had to leave early so can’t comment on the food.
Cons: There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there was a hot/cold drinks machine in the reception. I would have liked some form of plug in the bathroom basin as there was no way of filling it up!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good and excellent value. The lady who seemed to be the only person working there had very little english but was very pleasant and tried her best. There was no air conditioning however.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location is right next to the Autobahn. It was perfect for one night on the way to the Bretagne.
Cons: It was rather dirty on the floor. But the rest was okay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location ,close to main roads, friendly staff , very pet friendly and clean.
Cons: Double room included a bunk bed above the bed which was a bit awkward.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and comfortable room with all the amenities for a pleasant nights sleep.
Cons: Lack of staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very happy. We traveled with a large group and the hotel was very accommodating.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is a Business Hotel, so my expectations haven't bee that high. Breakfeast was surprisingly good.
Cons: Their English is not existent, you should learn French... but I guess check in also possible, if you don't speak French.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quick and simple check-in with confirm. Code. Easy to find rooms, it is unusual that you don't get any towels. But don't worry, you can buy one for 3€. Quite okay for that price and 1h from Paris. The pictures on the wall are very nice
Cons: Bit too small bed, i'm 1'88m tall, so it's not that easy in a tiny room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A low cost, basic hotel, situated on the outskirts of Chartres. There are several restaurants a few steps from the hotel. Some rooms now have a small en suite bathroom, with shower, loo and hand basin. The staff are welcoming and friendly.
7.1 Good
Pros: Close to the Hospital where I needed to visit someone. As far as staying in Chartres, quite far from the city. The bath towels are the weirdest part. You need to buy one for 3 Euros at the distributor and it it is made of microfiber. It sticks to your body. I trew it away the next day. The bathroom could not have been tinier. It kind of met my expectations though, but this was no luxury stay.
Cons: The restaurants next to it are ok. There are a few of them.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was good. The manager had my name reecorded expecting me which was reassuring. He explained all I needed to know and he was very chatty which was nice also. The room was spacious and clean. And the breakfast was Worth it.
Cons: Nothing really.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Simple, clean accommodation
Cons: Very noisy ground floor.
4.2 Okay
Pros: It’s very cheap and good value You need to know what to expect It’s a place to get your head down over night but that’s it The toilets and showers are clean but you all share them There isn’t really any staff - you check in automatically and everything is like that It’s near the motorway so brilliant for transport system and Chatres seems a lovely place . Our highlight was the all you can eat Chinese buffet next door which was very popular Our low was the sink and room smelling of wee I wonder if the previous occupant had used it to wee in as toilet is on another corridor The rooms are small but seem clean At first it felt like a prison cell but you got used to it again it’s cheap and good for overnight stop and generally clean - it’s not your boutique hotel It didn’t care we had a small dog It’s on on industrial estate with Aldi and macdonalds For all my moans and groans I do think that it you on a tight budget and need overnight stay not far from road and don’t mind sharing loo and bathroom with lots of people then it’s good
7.1 Good
Pros: I was able to book a room in 10 minutes, using the internet on my phone, quite late in the evening. I was able to get a room that had a private bathroom. The room was very clean and the bed surprisingly comfortable. Easy check in.
Cons: There was not a towel and soap in the bathroom, a fairly basic requirement in every other hotel in which I have stayed at a similar price. These include; IBIS, Travelodge, Premier Class etc. Also, many now provide basic coffee/tea facilities in the room. The rooms are tiny. You can 'purchase' a towel from a machine in the foyer. Perhaps a notice in the bathroom saying this might have helped.
7.1 Good
Pros: Locations OK...but "restaurants" in the area consist mainly McDonalds and KFC! Man on reception was friendly and helpful.
Cons: This conveniently situated hotel on the Outskirts of Chartres served its purpose but was even more basic than we anticipated and absurdly small. We were not told that there are no towels or air con - luckily it was a cool night although meant opening the window which was straight on to a railway line which woke me in the morning. The en suite shower room is minute. There is no receptacle/cup - even a plastic cup would have sufficed - for dring\king water...and the basis so small that one inevitably spilt water on the floor. While the hotel was cheapish, the extras mounted up - particularly having to pay for a micro fibre towel!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel in ideal location, easy access to road networks.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Confusing check in

Pros: My sons & daughter-in-law stayed in these two rooms. Although smaller than our upgraded room, they were pleased.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband & I had an upgraded room, and it was really nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was directly across the street from the train station - very convenient. Breakfast was good - a lot of choices. Chartres Cathedral was ~4 blocks away. Oh, and the parking was right behind the building, which was very convenient.
Cons: Nothing. (There was construction on the street next to the hotel & in front of the train station, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. And hey, it was Aug in France, when all the construction is done!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice Art Deco hotel. Stayed on a Junior suite. It is Art Deco with coordonated pared down Art Nouveau line, smart and elegant touch

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is brand new, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is good, the room was clean and the bed is very comfy. Their restaurant and bar are fabulous experience, don’t miss it. Thank you!
Cons: The room was small
6.7 Good
Pros: Location. Unless you have a car, and then you need to pay for parking
Cons: Juniors suite was a completely average room with desk and sofa. Suite? Um, no. No mini fridge. Tons of morning construction noise outside as they redo street and sidewalks in front of hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location in Chartres was convenient to everything we wanted to see. There was quite a bit of construction going on around the building. The elevator did not work because of this, so the hotel staff carried our luggage to the 3rd floor. We paid for reserved parking. Our car was parked for us and then returned to us when we were ready to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very warm welcome from Thierry in Reception- couldn’t have been better. Restaurant Le Jehan for dinner was excellent - very good value and superb food. Thank you to Max who made us laugh so much ! Our room was so comfortable and a great bathroom too.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to cathederal and restaurants
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Iocation
Cons: It needs a plug near the mirror.
6.7 Good
Pros: They were kind to upgrade out rooms. Location is best in class and no other hotel offers a parking as good as theirs. Receptionist in evening male with glasses is very nice.
Cons: Too expensive for what is it. Breakfast too expensive for what they offer. Needs refurbishment.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfy and reasonable size room.
Cons: Some rooms were being refurbished, so lot of noise in the morning. Poor breakfast. Very dark on staircases. Quite run down and shabby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: After a 9 hour drive we expected to have a sleep on arrival! This was impossible as the builders were making an extraordinary amount of noise! Sleep was impossible so we had to go out! The receptionist had tried to contact the manager but he was unavailable!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was pleasant and conveniently located. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is old but that didn’t surprise me. (If one expects all the latest decor and conveniences it is best to look elsewhere!) There is parking available but make a reservation when you book your room and the fee is 8 Euros a day. There are restaurants close by and a pharmacy is across the street. The hotel offers breakfast for a price which was quite good. Cereals, breads, yogurt, eggs bacon coffee, tea, juices etc.
Cons: The following may make one wonder why I might stay here again but these are mainly comments so there are no surprises if you decide to book. I would stay here again. I was confused as to how to get access to the parking. No place to park on the street as at the time there was road work. I didn’t see the buzzer to the left of the gate. The buzzer alerts reception so the gate can be opened. I think the instructions could have been clearer for me. In my bathroom the toilet faced a wall with minimal legroom. If you have long legs or are a larger person, make sure your bathroom will have a toilet positioned for your comfort. I had twin beds in my room. The mattresses should be replaced. The first night I was very uncomfortable and didn’t sleep well but the second bed was better for the next night. The lighting was very poor and the room safe didn’t operate. There is a safe at reception however. There are a few stairs up or down to the hall entrance when you get off the elevator. This can make it difficult if you have heavy luggage.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Die Lage ist gut.
Cons: The breakfast was basic. The bathroom was not working properly and had a horrible smell.
6.3 Good
Pros: OK
Cons: Was not aware of road closure which made it difficult to park. Also, construction work in the hotel disabled the air conditioning which made it very uncomfortable for sleeping.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent between the railway station and the town centre. There are roadworks at the moment so a bit messy in the road and around the station, but this wasn't a problem for us. We paid the extra to park on site and this was excellent.
7.9 Good
Pros: We opted out of breakfast, 13E50 seemed a little pricey.
Cons: Air conditioning did not work, alerted front desk and they never came up to fix. Same for my friends. Unfortunately, our room was hit directly by the sun, so working AC (which factored into our choice) would have been appreciated.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: It is both very close to the train station and the Cathedral which I really appreciated as I was moving heavy luggage. The staff was helpful with directions and I had to cancel one night early in order to make an early flight in Paris and they helped me with that and accommodated me. My room was also quiet.
