My fiancé and I stayed in the Sunset Room which was listed as a deluxe king room with a sea view. We are from the area but wanted to have a belated Valentine's day getaway weekend. We couldn't have chosen a better spot! The building is gorgeous with its historic architecture and opulent fixtures. I was admiring the decor every time I walked through the inn. I also quite enjoyed the paintings in our room which were a variety of styles and ages but had much more character than the mass-printed pieces in large hotels. Our room was lovely! The bed was beautiful and huge. Fairly firm but not uncomfortably hard. The sheets and comforter felt wonderfully soft and warm and smelled fresh and clean without being strongly fragrance. We were able to easily adjust the heat ourselves and work the TV. The bathroom was clean and had modern fixtures and flooring which is necessary even in old-styled inns. I did not get a chance to try the shower or tub but they looked nice. I have a soap allergy so I will be bringing my own bar in the future but I do appreciate that they offered solid soap instead of liquid. I've had many free breakfasts at hotels and as a rule most of them are not worth getting up for. Eden Hall Inn surpassed my expectations! Most of the food was piping hot and fresh. They offered tea and hot chocolate mix which I always appreciate since I don't drink coffee. Many places you have to specifically ask for hot chocolate and it's hit or miss. I was impressed by the spread. They had the usual toast, muffins, and three types of cereal but also sausages, fried potatoes, and a lovely quiche that made my morning. They had also set aside some gluten free options for one of the other guests and after they had sat down one of the cooks personally brought them a boiled egg since they couldn't eat the quiche. I though this was a sweet gesture.
The only thing that irritated me was the sound of the mini fridge humming when I was going to bed. However, I've had that problem everywhere I've stayed with a mini fridge so I don't expect them to change that. It's more of a personal problem rather than any failing on their part. It was still convenient to be able to store our leftovers after we went out for a dinner date The walkways/sidewalks could have been cleared a bit better. It made getting from our parked car to the front entrance a bit messier. But it is the snowiest part of winter and it had been snowing pretty constantly so it's understandable they might not be able to keep up.
It was awesome
Location and friendly people
The attention to Cleanness, the absolute silence and the care of staff contributes to a generally positive and pleasing atmosphere. The hotel was a hidden gem, and the cost-benefit rate was more than satisfactory.
At some point during the night, the air became heavy and dry. If the room had an air ventilation system it would've been a better experience.
The room was very clean and fresh, the bed was super comfortable. Staff was wonderful!
