Pros: A super location. I was afraid about the parking, but it's really not far away, only 10 minutes walking. Actually, you don't need a car in Karlsbad. I recommend the Thermal parking. We got the 2 room apartment, big enough, and it has also a small kitchenette, was perfect for us. The hotel staff is very friendly, everyone speaks English and German (of course Russian as well), they are very helpful.

Pros: Our decision to stay at Hotel Pallatin was a good one! Communication was excellent and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated right in the centre of Karlovy Vary, a perfect spot to walk to all the sights of this pretty town. We had a rental vehicle and they arranged a car park nearby for a nominal, affordable fee. We could take the car in and out as often as we wanted. Breakfast was good, too. The weather was hot but we were able to open windows in the bedroom and the staff gave us a fan to cool the room at night.

Cons: First of all the hotel is in a perfect location and we had a really nice room, BUT we found the mattress both of us really unconfortable. Too soft for sure, hole in the middle, etc... During the morning shower the pressure felt down to zero, and didnt have water app. for 5 mins. First just the hot water dissappeared, than the pressure as well. The breakfast was tasty, but it is also true we ordered a ham and cheese omlette and instead of it received only cheese omlette. Anyway the old lady was really nice so we didnt mention anything. :)

Cons: I got in touch with the hotel to ensure that our room would have a double sized mattress rather than two singles (this is something I have picked up on from other reviews). I was assured that our room has a double sized mattress but it ended up being 2 singles (my partner and I sleep quite close together so this made the bed less comfortable).

Pros: The hotel was lovely, a quiet location well placed, directly opposite the Grande Pupp Hotel. The hotel does not attract the masses and therefore is upmarket and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was super and not a buffet but we were able to get exactly what we wanted and it was served quickly and with style. When we were unhappy with the wheelchair friendly bathroom, we were moved directly to another room.
Cons: The first room we were given was for wheelchair guests and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Marek very quickly changed us over to a better room with a lovely bathroom (happily he had a cancellation). Parking is extra and quite far away, although the staff fetched and parked our car for us without any problem. The wellness has no pool and was not available to guests without a fairly hefty extra price.

It also has a partnership with the Castle Spa, so it gives you a discounts, and allows you to book services with them. Staff is great. We were soaked after walking in the rain to the hotel, and they managed to get us same type of room before actual check in time. Breakfast is very awesome, with lots and lots of selection.

The entrance of the Castle Spa (one of the main spas in Karlovy Vary) is just 10m far across the street. I pre-booked a parking space and a car of a local person was parking on my parking spot. The receptionist identified and called the owner through the net by my photo(!) in 2 minutes(!) and the owner took the car immediately!

Cons: There was no welcome water in the rooms. Flexibility of the negotiations about switching the dates were with a ZERO opportunities and human factor understanding. The view from the window was straight to the wall. Don’t think that to pay around 276€ for the night I deserve to see the wall. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND IT EVEN FOR THE ENEMY.

Cons: The parking was far away - you have to drive for about 5 minutes - and either a person from the hotel drives you back to the hotel or you can walk - which is about 10 minutes. In our case, we arrived during the dinner time and the driver wasn't available, waited for about 1 hour and then decided to go on our own with the car and walk back. The parking in the parking house costs 350 CZK/24 hours. Another thing which should be improved is the staff in the restaurant, they don't smile, don't look professional. The staff at the reception were very nice though. The room was very nice, but the bathroom was very old-fashioned although it was clean. Another negative is that there is neither spa, nor a pool or wellness in the hotel - you have to go to an opposite building which is not so convenient.

Staff in wellness is wiping the floor almost continuously so the area is always nice and clean. As I stayed for my birthday I got a bottle of wine as a gift from the hotel (thank you). Food at breakfast was really good. One Can use a funicular to get down to the city in no time. Overall a really beautiful place to stay.

I booked the room 30 minute before I arrived to the reception. she was questioning a lot. she couldn't find the reservation.. then reservation manager came in to the reception desk, and she was helpful. she found the reservation, and she understood that I didnt like the behaviour of reception lady and she offered free swimming pool to make me happy.. that worked : )) thanks to her. I didnt use the pool but it was a nice gesture

Cons: Granted the age of the property, there is no air-conditioning in the room. We stayed in a hot period on level six and it was fairly hot at night despite having a cooler night and windows open. This is probably an unusual occurrence for Karlovy Vary as from my understanding it generally does not get this hot

In the restaurant there were dirty cups and plates with hair in some of them, and when we told the staff she said “we clean with the machine and some are not well cleaned” and she didn’t even care to take the dirty ones!! And the housekeeping didn’t really clean the room at all, they just arranged the pillows. Very bad service! Breakfast is also very poor.

The swimming pool is beautiful but small; open time is not very convenient: 1300-2200. 5 sauna is beautiful with great heat , but works at strange hours: 1400-1800– very inconvenient. I used it one time only.

The nurse at the spa is very rude, she does not address the clients properly, maybe she thinks that the clients are her staff members or something, someone should tell her that she is providing us services, not the opposite!

Cons: No AC meant that it got really hot. There wasn't an elevator available and we had a room on the top level and that meant we had to climb up and down 70 something stairs everytime along with our luggage. I don't know if it was just our room, but the sink and the bin were outside the bathroom which was odd and made things a little difficult. Also the lack of a fridge meant that we couldn't cool our water bottles.

Cons: When arriving late, night receptionist wasn’t really interested of guests. I made sure our room - which eventually was two room suite - had either twin beds or sofa-bed in living room. She confirmed. Walking up, and it wasn’t. Then going back to ask if they had any soda or tonic water, answer was they had nothing except during breakfast. Which feels odd, as a hotel could perhaps add one fridge with soft drinks to byt, or an automat at least. Compare to the property, decor is really 90s, and should be updated. It would match the majestic surroundings and overall class Karlovy Vary has all around.

Cons: Huge price for what you get: uncomfortable bed, towels, slippers, other consumables for only two people, or even not at all, an more uncomfortable sofa bed. Only when I asked for the third person, I received the things on next day. There was also cigarette ash on the windowsill, a sign that he was smoking in the room. To point out a fact: when the next day I complained that the 13-year-old child had nothing allocated, the receptionist, irritated (a guy with a beard), asked me insinuated, 15 euros per day, for the 7-year-old, who slept in the double bed and ate no breakfast at all but a bowl of milk with cereals (recap: the little one did not use anything extra from the hotel). Is this how tourists are treated? Counterattacking the claims with "look what I can do to you!" Of course, at the check-out, there was no need for that extra amount.

Cons: The personnel barely speaks english and they are not specially friendly (they are not rude, just a bit too cold for my taste). The girls helping with the breakfast were nice, but they kind of over did it removing the dishes from the table all the time. I ended up having to eat my pastry without a plate because they remove it while I was eating, and they also remove my friend's plate when she still had food in it.

Our daughter had to sleep on a sofabed, that was quite uncomfortable, because it didn’t fit a person that was more than 165 cm in height. No coffeemaker. No place to hang wet swimmingclothes. Difficult to communicate with staff, that didn’t speak english. Dinner was less than plain, where you had to preorder your lunch and dinner. With your lunch and dinner you had only 3 options you could choose from.

Cons: The hotel is extremely tired, most employees don’t speak English (for international travelers) ; the breakfast was mostly reserved for walk in guests and the part left for hotel guests remained unattended whenever we went. There is no temperature control of the room which makes it extremely hot in summer. The walls are super thin and we kept hearing other’s people’s room discussions and noise disturbances all along. The cleanliness was average upon check in but got better with turn down. The value for this hotel is outrageous, and it seems the owners are not interested in lifting it back to it’s former glory.
