A wonderful hotel with local charm, and an "at home" feeling. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would choose this location over a large "chain hotel" every time. I would definitely stay there again. 5 stars
Evening meals and breakfasts were good. The owners are very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Bed was warm and comfortable.
The hotel is quite old and could do with some decoration. Unfortunately our room did not have a bath, just a shower.
Great find. Staff just so friendly & helpful. Plenty tea, coffee & toiletries. Nice meal at night & breakfast good
Room a wee bit tired but absolutely fine for me as travelling with dogs & DO NOT expect "The Ritz"
Comfortable room (ours had a four poster bed), good location for an overnight stop over from Yorkshire to Scotland. Good home cooked pub food available in the restuarant with friendly, attentive and customer focussed staff
WiFi reception in rooms is patchy. It's an old coaching inn with thick walls so would benefit from the installation of addition WiFi repeaters. On street car parking BUT there is room for 1 or 2 cars off the street so not a real issue for us as were offered one of these spots
Breakfast was arranged in the bar where so that we could have breakfast with dogs close by. This was well thought out and worked out well. Secure parking for our car was good as we were on route to Glencoe and laden with luggage and Christmas gifts. Staff on reception and in restaurant (large portions and home made pie was delicious and great value) were excellent. Very welcoming and professional. 24 hour porter availability ensured that dogs could be taken for a very early morning loo break (6.30am). Overall a good overnight stay.
Minor issue was the bedroom door lock that did not always work but we sorted it in the end.
With a stay at The Graham Arms in Carlisle, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of The Sands Centre and Clan Armstrong Centre. Free self parking is available onsite.
