Best location, friendly staff, nice breakfast.
expensive beach entry for hotel guests
Receptionist Rosanne did save the hotel and our vacation from being ruined - she actually went and solved problem caused by the hotel. Hotel is located better that front line hotels - as it is physically second large building, so you don't have crowds in front of window. Huge parking spaces with valet parking under the hotel. Lobby is nice and spacious. Breakfast is fantastic, even considering it costs 29eur per person - really wide selection and excellent food quality multiplied by excellent service. For breakfast pick any of many places to eat around hotel - it is at least 2 times cheaper, but more important that you'll see and experience different service and food. Concierge were mostly excellent and helping, except for one or two strange persons that don't know how to smile. Private beach is no sense really - same beach is for free with LESS people (sunbeds are packed next to each other) around just 20m, but hotels beach terras is excellent to enjoy evening, service was very nice. Bed was excellent, room overall was quite good for upper level hotel, but still and old beachfront hotel in tourist mecca - it is naturally old and tired. My overall rating from 0 to 5 is 4, but not more. Funny that many other higher rated hotels are much worse in room design and pricing - but we are in Cannes :).
This was 1st time I got into Barrierre hotels chain so I had no idea what to expect. so here it is. Hotel is quite old and quite tired - obviously as it is on the second line from Cannes promenade: they have millions of tourists paying anything to get to luxury Cannes hotels. Reality is typical for such areas. Normal rooms are quite small for charged price. We had an nice upgrade suggested and I am happy we took it: room that is 2 times bigger than normal, facing interior yard with view over the mountain and city roofs - quite good for privacy in the evening. For price hotel askes in Cannes expect that you pay 2 times more for 2 times less of everything compared to centeral europe or asia. Just bare with it. What is not acceptable was an ugly plastic smell in our 806 room which was not removable - Asked mr Pascal on evening of arrival to check it and find replacement fist thing in the morning (we did not wanted to change rooms late in the evening). Next morning coming back to room - smell is there. In the evening asked Rosanne of the status - she just went and changed the room to 706, which was better in details but same type. Ms Pascal - is typical faceless gent that spent life in hotels and forgot to actually be a host: behind smiles and typical small-talk there is nothing really, but "I do not care of you dear guest". We were shown and super-exec-something-... room that costed like 1k per night on top floors - that would have been a total disappointment: just a regular bigger room with 2 toilets and limited sea view; no point at all.
The staff was friendly. They upgraded to genius 2 room. Which was beautiful at the peak of the season!
Would have liked Spa and bigger gym, perhaps a little bit more variety for the breakfast option.
Great location with all the facilities we needed. The private beach is very easily accessed. The breakfast at the beach restaurant was very reasonably priced and very relaxed and informal. Car parking was so convenient. Wish we could have stayed longer.
When we arrived they don’t give us roim which we pay!!!!
With its bright, modern, and restrained atmosphere, Hotel Le Gray d’Albion shrouds its guests in delicate refinement. The transparent Starck furniture and the soft king size bed will transport you to a delightful other world. Waterskiing, summer nights whiled away on a private beach, and colourful cocktails shape an exhilarating trip. Wonderment on La Croisette. Thrills at the casino. Luxury boutiques. A whirlwind of pleasures right outside your hotel room door.
