Not a lot
Beautiful location. Lovely rooms. Fantastic breakfast! An amazing sculpture exhibition throughout the grounds.
No one was on site all through the evening or night after 4:00pm. Guests had to let ‘themselves’ in!!! They announced all the facilities including the bar and the restaurant, which we were looking forward to eat in, was not opened and we had no warning about this. We only had one room key and unfortunately, had locked ourselves out of the room. No staff were around to help or had left no emergency number to call. There were no lights at all around the place so we, and other guests, were floundering in the dark! We had to crawl through a window to get back in!!! Fortunately we had left the window opened. We would have been sleeping outside if we had not gotten in! As it is in a rural location we could not relax there and had to travel to find another place to eat and of course could not have a drink as we were driving. Then the following day we were hoping to have lunch there and they were closed yet again!!! Very disappointed we couldn’t have enjoyed the full experience of this beautiful location.
The outlook and scenery around the property
Walls very thin , was kept awake by other guests coming and going , even heard them having a bath
Quite location next to the valleys, really nice breakfast, clean room, nice atmosphere
Mattress was really soft (personal opinion), car is recommended to get there, otherwise a taxi is needed.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Our reserved room wasn't ready when we arrived, but we were immediately given a set of two rooms with excellent facilities and lovely dual-aspect outlook. Superbly memorable evening meal in the restaurant, with helpful guidance from the waiter leading to a terrific dinner. Interesting history of monastery buildings and hotel set in beautiful, quiet countryside.
