Sebastian remained on site to ensure we could gain access to our room even though reception was officially closed. The hotel had sent communications regarding access by code, but as we hadn't replied they stayed until we arrived. Our internet hadn't worked while travelling. The hotel staff's consideration impressed us. A very good start to a lovely comfortable stay in the beautiful town of Bremen.

Pros: The location is very central and yet the hotel and its rooms are surprisingly quiet. We had a very restful night in a bed where you literally get lost with just two people. The room was spacious and the bathroom was the biggest I've ever seen. It had a walk in shower as well as a bathtub and two basins. Very tasteful interior throughout and designer furniture with a lounge area and coffee/tea facilities. There was a free mini bar in the room. Opposite the hotel is a lovely park along the canal which is perfect when travelling with a dog. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and efficient. Checking in and out was swift and without any complications. We can only recommend Achat hotel very highly and will definitely return when again in Bremen

Cons: No tea and coffee making facilities. Beds were very plush and comfortable but pillows were much too soft and even two did nothing to support the head. Bed was made with a three inch gap at the top where the mattress was uncovered by the bottom sheet (!). Aircon was quiet but not very adjustable. Check in was very slow. No USB charging point in the room. Breakfast at another 17 Euros each was expensive considering how close you are to the centre of the town and the local bakers.

One day we wanted to have lunch at the hotel's cafe, but the stuff wouldn't allow us to sit inside - they said we could only sit at the terrace while it was +38 there. A bit disappointing for a 5* hotel.

The room was clean and of acceptable size (not much room for more than a suitcase though). The shower pressure was very good. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location is very good as it is just a few meters from the small Bremen airport. We tried some cocktails after dinner and they were surprisingly good, albeit a little expensive. While we were there we experienced an issue with a fire alarm that went off by accident. The hotel promptly responded with the evacuation and they handled it professionally and without incident.

Pros: The hotel had a room ready for us although we arrived and hour early. The room already included the previously ordered baby crib. The room was clean and of acceptable size (not much room for more than a suitcase though). The shower pressure was very good. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location is very good as it is just a few meters from the small Bremen airport. We tried some cocktails after dinner and they were surprisingly good, albeit a little expensive. While we were there we experienced an issue with a fire alarm that went off by accident. The hotel promptly responded with the evacuation and they handled it professionally and without incident.
Cons: Breakfast was lacking but passable. Some warm dishes like scrambled eggs and bacon/sausages would have been nice. The bread selection was lacking. The coffee was also not very good. In the evening we ordered some chicken and a schnitzel at the hotels restaurant. Portions were ok but the food was a dry.

Cons: Check out time was 12:00. Construction (hammering, drilling, pounding) started at 08:30. Late at night in summer you do not want a room on the Bahnhof side of the hotel. The outdoor eating area of the adjacent restaurant (where all the smokers go) is directly underneath the rooms. It can get quite loud. If you're driving, be sure to arrive in a Smart or a small convertible. This was the worst parking garage I've ever seen. Not just in a hotel. Anywhere.

Cons: There was no heat and after a long venture, it's a rather important feat that you can sit in a warm comfy room. The advertising implied that this was a mini apartment with basic amenities. There was some basic items missing like forks, dish brush, tea towel and a small pot or sauce pan (there was a pot for 3 liters). The chairs wasn't comfortable and the table arrangement was somewhat a little hopeless with a wall closet you can't reach on top of it. (It doesn't make sense but look at the picture (sorry for the mess)). Parking was a nightmare.

Very strange and not very cosy. I am sure there would be way to cover the door properly. The mattresses are narrow and there is no room to leave the toilet bag in the tiny bathroom. Again, I am sure there is a way of installing a small shelf. There was a kettle and a Tchibo coffee maker but no tea bags nor coffee capsules. The check in is in a another hostel close by. The staff there wasn't very friendly.

Pros: The room was huge, big bed and 2 put up beds had been put up for the children. There was a fancy coffee maker and good selection of tea and coffee pods as well as a selection of complementary soft drinks.
Cons: Bed could have been comfier, it was sloping, so I kept rolling out of bed

The statue can still be visited in its location near the Bremen town hall, which also is a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site.
