Sebastian remained on site to ensure we could gain access to our room even though reception was officially closed. The hotel had sent communications regarding access by code, but as we hadn't replied they stayed until we arrived. Our internet hadn't worked while travelling. The hotel staff's consideration impressed us. A very good start to a lovely comfortable stay in the beautiful town of Bremen.

No USB charging point in the room. Breakfast at another 17 Euros each was expensive considering how close you are to the centre of the town and the local bakers.

One day we wanted to have lunch at the hotel's cafe, but the stuff wouldn't allow us to sit inside - they said we could only sit at the terrace while it was +38 there. A bit disappointing for a 5* hotel.

Cons: We were repeatedly told that the description provided when we made our reservation with booking.com was not to be relied upon: we were supposed to have access to cable channels, we found out that we had access to "some"channels, but not the sport channels that one could access from the bar/dinner area. Drinking water was supposed to be provided. We did find water in the fridge on arrival, thereafter we were told we had to buy water.

Cons: The TV guide was blank, so it was difficult to find out what was on. There was no signal for BBC World, nor was there a CNN channel, so the only English language news channel was China Global! The room overlooked the station square, and although double-glazed there was still quite a noticeable level of background noise from traffic outside.

Cons: Check out time was 12:00. Construction (hammering, drilling, pounding) started at 08:30. Late at night in summer you do not want a room on the Bahnhof side of the hotel. The outdoor eating area of the adjacent restaurant (where all the smokers go) is directly underneath the rooms. It can get quite loud. If you're driving, be sure to arrive in a Smart or a small convertible. This was the worst parking garage I've ever seen. Not just in a hotel. Anywhere.

When we plan a city tour in Germany & Europe which we normally arrive by car, PARKING is very importance for us. And we decided to stay here because of "parking facility". One of the check in staff was totally unfriendly and a kind of complaint back to us that we haven't read the info before booking properly.*** For info***since the remark was at the end of the page and also not available for mobile-app version, so we haven't seen it. A couple who checked in at the same with us also have totally the same problem. Anyway, I think it was not the first time, that the staff had to handel this kind of situation because she can argue back fluently (in an impolite way) and even challenged us to write to comment. In the end we had to park our car in another parking house near by wich is more expensive. Bout our stay, the layout of the bathroom there is tricky, very small. During our stay we have heard like a water running almost the whole time, which was also disturbing. Honestly, we feel like like Ibis has cheated to us in this situation about the unclear parking info. By the way if the staff handle this matter in other way, it wouldn't be that bad. But from this experience, I would say, no more IBIS ! I wrote this not to hear any apologize or explanation from IBIS but just want to share the real information to the coming guests.

At breakfast, they could not in that big restaurant make an effort to get me Olive Oil, the waitress was blunt and not willing to help. On the outside restaurant terrace there were a couple of big rats running on the sides; I know it is a big garden in the front, but the scenery and feelings with the appetite was not nice.

Cons: Not the cleanest space - walls were dirty, beds had some odd odors to them (one of the beds smelled a bit of urine)

Pros: The room was huge, big bed and 2 put up beds had been put up for the children. There was a fancy coffee maker and good selection of tea and coffee pods as well as a selection of complementary soft drinks.
Cons: Bed could have been comfier, it was sloping, so I kept rolling out of bed

The hanseatic city is famous for the Town Musicians of Bremen far beyond Germany's borders. The statue can still be visited in its location near the Bremen town hall, which also is a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site. The restaurants and bars of the Schlachte promenade invite guests to stop off for a pause and to enjoy the splendid views out over the River Weser.
