This was a fabulous property, just perfect for a cycling base for us.
There was nothing not to like.
Staff was so kind, helpful as it is owner run. Breakfast with eggs collected from own farm. Nice sheep and deer around the property. Perfect for small children
The environment - surrounded by vineyads, farm animals, citrus trees which are heavyly fruiting now. Quiet, and being upgraded to the stables, which means we are close to the super friendly sheeps, chickens and on our own. Loves the breakfast provided.
I'd prefer tea/coffee not in individual wrapping.
Peace and quiet, lovely setting, good bed, beautiful breakfast ingredients, helpful hosts.
There is nothing not to like at St Leonard Cottages
The cottage was located right where all the good wineries are. The property is beautiful and the owners are very friendly, they provided breakfast to us(we have to cook), free range eggs from their chickens and home made variety of jams(made by Michelle)so YUMMY, plus orange juice, milk, variety of breads and cereal. We did stay in a queen room because the other cottages were booked, but it was good.
Although we had a private bathroom, we found a bit too small for us, but overall was OK.
St Leonards, with five self contained cottages, is an original old farm homestead (circa 1886), a good example of early New Zealand colonial architecture, located in a rural and private setting with century-old walnut, gum and elm trees, and now surrounded by vineyards. Stroll around the garden and lemon grove, enjoy a game of tennis in the grass court, play croquet or petanque, relax in the swimming pool, or hire a bike for a ride around the vineyard region.
