I was contacted after returning the car that there was a dent in the car. In fact there was a scratch at it was noted on the record upon pickup. Only after producing a full video of the car with existing damage was the charged apparently dropped but without any courtesy email or apology.

Pros: The Staff was not friendly was late for 30 minutes because he went to eat & tried to Fool me to get an expensive car without insurance instead of Smart that was initially of agreement. The only good guy was the parking Guy. Initially I had booked a 4 doors car, then a smart and then a BMW
Cons: They Could not be late root and good inform me before I go there that there is no car as the one agreed! Worst experience ever!

A reservation means nothing to Enterprise. After booking a rental car reservation, making weekend travel plans, and paying for a taxi to/from the rental facility, the service desk says it has no cars and cannot honor my reservation. It ruined my plans to explore outside of Barcelona and cost me money just to show up to the service desk to have them say "sorry no cars, goodbye". What could be better? 1) Don't show inventory if you don't have it (several car options were available) 2) Text/email your reservations if there is a failure like this so customers have the heads up and don't make unnecessary plans and expenses just to show up to be disappointed at the service desk. 3) Offer some sort of reimbursement when money/effort are expended and the company fails with their end of the deal. What did I like? Nothing with this reservation

This was simply the best car rental experience we’ve ever had! The staff at this location (Carrer Badajoz in Barcelona) were incredibly helpful. We arrived late and the office was supposed to be closed for “siesta”. But they were there and gave us our car anyway! They were cheerful and efficient - something car rental personnel usually are not - especially in Spain where they are usually rigid and inefficient. We rented a car from Avis in Plaza Catayluna a few weeks ago - it was three times as much and a nightmare. We will be renting from this Enterprise location from now on!

I would recomend
Pros: Friendly and accurate support. I receive a brand new car in my class(with 40km only)
Cons: It was difficult to return a car as all roads around were closed due to reconstruction. I would expect customer service to tell it upfront and explicitly say that I have to drive in against traffic.

Cons: We had to wait in line for 1.5 hours to get our car. Totally unacceptable and an amazingly inefficient system. The staff spent more time trying to upsell people on insurance, better cars etc instead of managing the crowd.

Pros: pick up ok, drop off ok
Cons: Spent two days trying to process a simple reservation extension and change of drop off location. Got shuffled from US Headquarters to Spanish reservation desk to local offices. Many calls, many attempts, and they could not figure it out. Promised to call back, nothing. At the end we did not manage.

Cons: Whoever put up the sign for return should be given a reality check. there was a sign but it was on a one way street and was facing the wrong direction. It could only been seen by driving by the entrance and then looking backwards to see it, not something that many people would do. We drove around the block (not easy to do) three times and until my wife got out and circled the block did she see the sign and direct me in. Place the sign so that you can see it while driving by.

Bad service experience
Pros: The car was actually ok.
Cons: I had to wait more than 60 min- to get the car and consequently missed my golf appointment. They did not tell me where to drop the car off. I went to the office but they directed me to the garage where i picked ud the car. They could have told that in advance. Then i HATE, HATE, HATE renting cars online and purchasing some assurance at the same time, but then at the counter I am being told that I have zero insurance and do I want to take that risk? I could potentially go banckrupt if anything happens with the car. Do you know how the locals drive.?? That is the biggest problem when one company is responsible for the sale and another for delivering the car. It is not servie it is pestering the customer. Stop doing it. Try to be rental companies and not insurance companies and change the f.... busines model. It is sick. !!!

Pros: No one in Barcelona knew anything about Dollar and there was no response to the phone number listed in the reservation.
Cons: No response or indication of where to find this rental agency. We got lucky by one person knowing Hertz could help.

Great Car, Okay service
Pros: The car was fantastic. Brand new without a scratch on it. It drove like a dream and came with a built in navigation system which was incredibly helpful. The car comfortably fit our needs and still got great fuel economy which was important in Europe as gas is much more expensive.
Cons: The pick up process was confusing as we rented through Dollar but picked up a car owned by Thrifty and the rental was processed through Hertz. As they are all the same company, it makes sense, but we were confused. Additionally, we had scheduled a pickup and we didn't know we had to be at the office exactly at the pickup time. The service was fine but the attendant helping us out seemed less than thrilled because we weren't there exactly at our scheduled pick up time.

1. Lots of upselling on car features. 2. Be aware of all dents and damages before the car is released to you. Take a lot of your own pictures with a date stamp 3. Ask for all receipts related to the gas filling or parking. I will NOT be renting from Hertz ever again. A lot of dishonesty in car rental practices.

Everything was great with the rental until we dropped the car off in Madrid after 10 days and discovered we didn't have a spare tire for the whole trip. We were lucky that we never needed the spare. Not great attention to detail by Hertz in Barcelona. Lesson learned I will always check the spare tire from now on.

I wanted to extend my rental but online it said I had to phone the office and i phoned the office more than 6 times, selected ‘english’ and ‘current rental’ than waited about 10 rings before the computer disconnected me again and again and again so had to book a different car through a different agency for a week.

I got the gas tank full with the care was told to return it filled, we did that and we were still charged over €90 for not filling the gas tank. I have both the receipt and video evidence of the tank being full, yet Hertz has not refunded the charge… still waiting (be very careful with them).

Not related to the El Prat location, but I could not add my Hertz frequent traveller information without the reservation showing me accepting CDW, etc., so after a wasted hour on the phone I left it off, which meant the car was not ready to drive away as part of Hertz’s Gold program. Having rented from Hertz at this location multiple times I either get the hard sell on insurance, bigger car, etc. or what appears to be frustrated agents when they realize they cannot up-sell me. This time, however, at least they gave me a nice (brand new) car that was not the smallest possible for its category. I also had a scratch on the bumper on return and they handled it very efficiently and in a friendly manner, just matter of fact noting it, not giving me a hard time. By the time I had boarded the plane I had the receipt, including a very reasonable small fee for the scratch, sitting in my inbox.

The car was nice and clean. I was quoted €200 for 3 days but received a bill for €426 which I will definitely be disputing!

Booked a van (minivan) expecting to take family of sox on day trip. Hertz gave me a midsize 5 person car and said they don’t have any vans. I see minivans are still showing up in the search for Hertz. Also way overcharged for a day rate for a regular car, considering other options. Very unhappy with Kayak and Hertz.

The wait in the store was about an hour for pick up, which seemed like a lot. Keep in mind cute girls differences, but this did seem like a lot. I also had trouble getting in and out of the car park. One of the gates wouldn’t open on both the way in and the way out. The call button for help was on the passenger side, which was problematic, but ultimately that gate shouldn’t have been a problem. I think it tracks to a sensor in the car but the sensor wasn’t connecting for some reason.

Staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. Only downside is that the check tires light came on halfway through our rental and we didn’t really know what to do. But the car was fine.

Pros: Reserved a mercedes class a and got a misearable opel. Dont understand why. 15 min of argue didnt help. Talking to a brick wall is better. Bas treatment at dropp off point. They tried to claim that an old little scratch was caused by me.
Cons: You promised a car in the contract and you didnt provide it. Very disappointing expirience

Pros: The car was nice and clean.
Cons: The employee in Hertz, Sants was very rude. Unable to explain properly the conditions. She explained the coverage for the car I reserved but then she told me I am having another car, because they don't have the one I booked, so the coverage was triple price, etc.It took one hour to give me the keys.

Pros: Friendly, fast service
Cons: I was given the car with only half a tank and the person that took care of us told us he would note that it only had half a tank so that we wouldn't have to be return it like that. He said he would take down those notes however we were still charged for refueling and for the gas.
