Pros: The Bar Harbor Motel isn't fancy, but it's clean, and the staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. I would characterize the motel as being great for families, or for hikers looking for a relatively inexpensive place to sleep and a free breakfast before hitting the trails at Acadia National Park. There are not many "creature comforts," but the beds are comfortable and the showers are hot, which is what hikers are really looking for. I would certainly stay there again.
Located in the heart of Bar Harbor, this motel is within a 5-minute walk of Village Green and Agamont Park. Bar Harbor Whale Watching and Bar Harbor Historical Society are also within 10 minutes.

Pros: Clean, recently renovated room, with a nice bathroom. Front desk was nice and fast check in and check out. Pool was clean and kept well. Good location to acadia, and bar harbor. Great walking distance to everything.
Cons: The tv had limited channels, and wasnt hd

Pros: Staff went out of their way to be of assistance. After a full day of hiking, it was great to park the car and be steps away from everything Bar Harbor has to offer--great beer, coffee and food.

Pros: Lovely views, easy walking distance to downtown and access to Acadia was very close.
Cons: The breakfast buffet was chaotic.
Excellent9.1
Pros: Close to everything and right on the water so gorgeous views. It’s a quick walk into town for dinner and shopping so don’t have to deal with parking. The infinity pool is heated and very nice after a long day of hiking. Breakfast was included and it was a very nice one. No hot food but plenty of choices and everything was very fresh. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The shore path right behind the hotel is great for a nice relaxing and scenic walk.
Cons: The fire pit and bar closed at 9pm which is pretty early so we weren’t real happy with that. Also we asked about ferries to one of the local islands and the front desk staff told us they didn’t know and offered no suggestions for help. That was pretty disappointing because we had to figure it out for ourselves and wound up at the wrong harbor.
Offering direct access to the beach, this Bar Harbor hotel is within 1 mi (2 km) of George B. Dorr Museum of Natural History and Bar Harbor Whale Watching. Acadia National Park and Village Green are also within 2 miles (3 km).

Cons: No tub, only a stand up shower
Excellent8.0
Cons: Breakfast is on the other building
Excellent9.1
Pros: Great setting. Beautiful view and convenient to everything
Excellent8.0
Pros: The view of the ocean is amazing. The staff is very friendly.
Cons: Some areas need updating -- for example, the rug in the elevator of building #4 is terrible.
Okay4.5
Pros: Location to town and view of the ocean
Cons: Sheets weren't changed from the previous guests.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Nice location, clean rooms
Cons: Poor wifi
Good6.2
Pros: The location was excellent. View of the water was gorgeous. Breakfast was pretty good (continental - eggs, breads, pastries, fruit). Considering the cost in that area, this was an excellent value.
Cons: The hotel is a bit dated and the rooms were not that clean (okay, but could have used a bit more TLC). You will hear your neighbors above you (walking). Staff was not very forthcoming with information. For example, there is a free shuttle to Bar Harbor that leaves from the hotel which I found out about only by accident - not because anyone told me.

Pros: I never right reviews. The hotel was amazing. Close to the heart of everything took 5 min to walk to waterfront. Yet still far enough away that it's quiet. The town, food, people & service was great! We took a whale watch tour & got vouchers from the hotel. Will def go back

Pros: Great ocean view
Cons: None
Excellent10.0
Pros: The room was beautiful and had a balcony overlooking Frenchmen’s Bay. Sunsets were simply stunning. Services were prompt and polite and when we did not want to be disturbed, they actually left a nice note and all the refills for things in a bag on the door so we would not have to ask for it later. The beds were so comfortable- we slept in several days just to enjoy it! The pool was heated and very relaxing, we were able to access with hotel supplied towels very easily. Definitely worth coming back for the quality.
Cons: Breakfast served was continental which was just ok. Nothing special to make it stand out.

Cons: Internet too slow.
Excellent9.6
Pros: -Room was spacious and comfortable -bathroom had a window for extra light and ventilation -Massage chair was a nice addition -plenty of storage for clothing in dresser and closet -plenty of parking -beautiful view -pool had plenty of seating and was well maintained -fitness facility was easily accessible and met my needs -short walk/drive to looking glass restaurant -main bar with piano player was enjoyable
Cons: -could use more easily accessible outlets -on two occasions (once in the fitness center, another in the main lobby) the water cooler did not have the cap removed by the staff. In the fitness center, I had to remove it myself and flip over the 5 gallon cooler. In the lobby I left it as is.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Location was good, pool and spa and restaurant are a good. My 8 year old loved it.
Cons: No mini fridge in room, continental breakfast was pretty weak.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Beautiful hotel facility, Great piano player every night.
Cons: Included breakfast was light. We went into town most every day.
Good7.7
Pros: Bar Harbor is the star and the Bluenose is well located. Lovely views, great pool, fabulous piano bar in the evening.
Cons: Maybe the staff was tired at the end of the season, but greeters at the front desk were at best perfunctory. We were thrilled to be there - they not in the least welcoming!

Pros: Great location right near Bar Harbor village and the Island Explorer shuttle. Cheap compared with other locations in BH and easy parking. Clean facility and friendly staff.
Cons: Just keep in mind this is a BUDGET motel, so these are not criticisms just more "what to expect." It's an older and dated facility. It's clean but has a slightly musty smell. Bathrooms are small but serviceable.
Excellent9.0
Pros: The proximity to the town of Bar Harbor, the cleanliness of the grounds and room, the free morning coffee and the price.
Cons: The only thing was that one of the bedside lamps did not work properly.
Excellent8.2
Pros: This place is a 5 minute walk to the harbor and downtown area and right on the main drag. Also 5 minutes from Acadia National Park Entrance. Ataff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: If you are looking for an upscale modern hotel, this one is not. However it is clean and a bit dated but my personal feeling is I’m only sleeping here. Bathroom and showers were Very clean. I would reccomend this hotel for someone who is looking for a reasonable price in the area, close to eveything who doesnt have to stay in a 5 star hotel to be happy.

Cons: The room and bathroom were a little small but very tidy.

Pros: Bed was super comfy, pool was heated and the hot tub was amazing as well.
Cons: Breakfast was just grab and go, coffee could have been better in the room, and they definitely have some repairs that need done. Our ceiling had some spots that needed attention but nothing major.
Okay5.1
Pros: The room was clean. Bathroom nice. That's about all I can say that I liked about the place.
Cons: Arrived at night. Could not see the Holiday Inn sign well enough to know we had arrived. Difficult to go turn around to turn into the drive. Lobby sign too low to the ground and blocked by a car. Doorman was nice, but the rest of the staff were so-so.
Mediocre3.7
Pros: Restaurant and stewmans
Cons: Room itself and location. No amenities--only vending machines. No overall manager. A/C was bad esp in lobby.
Okay5.1
Pros: Pool, spa, and bar area. Beds/pillows were comfortable. Room was clean. Free shuttle to downtown.
Cons: Advertised as oceanfront, however only a select few are even remotely close. Very poor wifi connection. Stewman's lobster pound was very expensive. Very limited parking. Very late check-in.
Situated in Bar Harbor, this hotel is within a 15-minute walk of West Street Historic District and Bar Harbor Whale Watching. Acadia National Park and Village Green are also within 1 mile (2 km).

Pros: I enjoyed the quietness. The Looking Glass restaurant was convenient and food was good. The King room was located at the end and only had one shared wall and was spacious. The other visitors were considerate. The view overlooked a lawn and offered no harbor view. This hotel is one of the stops on the free bus line. I kept my car parked the entire week Checkin/out was efficient and charges correct.
Cons: The continental breakfast area was cramped. The food typical fare of cereal, muffins, waffles, juice, coffee, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. I only ate there once. The mattress was on its last season (I hope)

Pros: Even though it is located on the main road it was very quiet most of the time. The room had everything we needed including a refrigerator which was not listed as an amenity. The view of the sun above the ocean in the morning was worth also having a view of the old cat terminal.
Cons: We did not even attempt to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast as the area to enjoy it was much too small. We went into town both mornings to have breakfast instead.
Okay4.8
Pros: Location
Cons: Outdated room. Poor sound insulation (outside and above). Pool did not exist on property though seemed to be represented as such. Inconsistent room temperature. Smelled of bleach. Overpriced for what was received.
Excellent9.1
Pros: Young couple on a hiking trip in Acadia, stayed 4 nights. The room was clean, plenty of space for a lot of luggage/gear. Refrigerator in room was helpful. Breakfast was great. View of the ocean. Highly recommend.
Cons: Nothing.
Okay4.5
Pros: great location
Cons: the room was really musty.
Poor1.9
49.99 roach motel for 300/night. Side of the highway with traffic humming by all day and night. Pink dated tile in the bathroom with mildew. Huge crack between the door and casing. A/C unit from 1902. Door knob only works in 1 direction…….should I continue!!?? Breakfast ends at 9am, and was pretty sketch. I will never come back here. Honesty it severely took away from going to Acadia. I could wait to leave early and go home. Forget this sketch “hotel” with a corporate name.
Good7.1
Pros: Comfortable bed.....nice room amenities
Cons: To close to road....heavy traffic noise Prominent "old hotel smell" of diinfectant in room. Even hung to my clothes upon leaving.
Mediocre2.0
Cons: I booked via cancelon from Kayak. They contacted me the next day saying the hotel was fully booked and my room was no longer available. Could Kayak better vett their partner sites?
