Not a lot really. We simply used this as a place to sleep and wash. The facilities were average, and the room was very cramped.
Very disappointing. When I booked this hotel, I was not told that there were extensive building works taking place at the hotel, these works were very dirty (rubble throughout the hallways), and were very loud, by 8am you could hear builders talking, banging and drilling. There was one lift in the hotel, which was being used by both guests, staff and builders. The hotel was dirty. This was very concerning given the COVI19 outbreak. No one was making sure door handles, lift buttons and continuous touch points were being sanitized. I do not think it is fair, that the hotel charges guests full price, and does not tell them in advance of the building works, that severely impacted on our stay. We will not be returning.
Close to city centre
This hotel is having a lot of work done they don’t tell you that before you book it
It was conveniently close to a lot of the main attractions of Amsterdam especially the museums and Vondelpark.
They were in the process of doing construction (which I wasn’t warned before arriving) so I found the entrance to the hotel difficult to find. Because of the construction going on I found a handful of ants crawling up my walls, in my bed and in my bathroom.
Location was good.
I made a complaint about my recent stay at the hotel. I spent over £130 a night which i find already very expensive. Only to find when I show up the that hotel is undergoing renovation work which I was not advised about. Not only was I woken up all 3 mornings before 8am but the hotel was an absolute mess. There were wires hanging out of the walls and ceilings in the hallways. There was a terrible smell through the whole hotel. The hotel did not have a bar or dinning area as advertised and not sit down breakfast but instead a 'breakfast in a bag' available. I purposely booked the free cancellation room and if i was advised before hand that this work was going on I would NOT have stayed at this hotel and would have found a better alternative. Paying over £130 a night for a messy, smelly hotel was completely unacceptable. I am truly disappointed. This trip was supposed to be a special holiday for my partner who had his birthday recently thats why I decided to spend more money on a hotel to make it more special. Instead we had to spend all the time outside the hotel and only go back to sleep (not even to get a lay in as was woken up). The trip was completely ruined all because someone from either booking.com or the hotel didn't send me so much as a warning to ask if this would be acceptable meaning I could change my plans. I would like a full refund.
I was really disappointed with my stay at this hotel, Not only did I turn up to the hotel to realize I had to walk up extremely steep steps to get into the reception as the work being done meant a really unsafe entrance I was then greeted by this during my entire stay. Unfortunately I had not been informed about any work being done therefore disturbance to my stay I simply got told this once I had arrived. The bar/breakfast are was out of bounds due to the work being done, which I was very interested in using and as we came with friends this was going to be the perfect meeting point. I was told that I was lucky due to being located in one of the renovated rooms, however the work continued to cause safety hazards throughout the whole walk to get to my room. I then was given the key to the wrong rooms whos stuff belonging to the guest was still in there (I would be livid if reception was giving my room key out to other guests meaning if it was someone less trustworthy than me, items could of very easily been stolen). My room was tidy, cleaned everyday and comfortable, however my friends room was absolutely tiny and could barely get their suitcases in the room and move about at any ease. Its a shame because the hotel is in a really good location, I just have no idea why I would not of been informed of this before arrive.
