Best Western York Pavilion Hotel

The building and gardens are really pleasant. It was really quiet (although we were warned that if there is a wedding on it is noisier). We were visiting university and it is really close, but it is a way outside the city centre (20 minutes walk).

The queue for breakfast was long, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated and as it is waitress service it took a while to get the breakfast. The cooked breakfast felt a bit stingy, one sausage, one hash brown, etc. We were staying there to attend the open day at the uni but it took so long for breakfast that we ended up getting there late.

The location of the hotel is great. It's a two-minute drive to the designer outlet, and there's a park-and-ride in the designer outlet: the parking is free and it's cheap to get a return ticket to the city. Parking in the city is a bit costly, so park-and-ride is definitely recommended. The hotel offers great breakfast, a continental buffet as well as hot meal on order. The warm meals are great. Free parking.

The bed is a bit too small for two people. The toilet doesn't always flush everything down. The housekeeping team doesn't resupply the toiletries, so it's quite troublesome to ask the reception every time we want to take showers. Our room was on the first floor, and there was no lift, so think twice before coming with large luggage.

Lovely building. Good location for york.the bed was comfortable. The food was nicely cooked..The heating was not on so the room was cold at times as were the public areas. The room could have been cleaner. The lady working on the bar was lovely and very patient.

Quite pleasant with a good English breakfast in a lovely, heritage room with views to the garden.

Whilst the four poster was a novelty, to be honest, the decor in our room appeared to be ‘80s reproduction which we found a bit Nanna. We would also prefer somewhere closer in but to be fair it becomes more difficult to find accommodation with off street parking.
