The room was big enough.
The amount of cobwebs in our upgraded room no1. I don't like to see trees growing out of the chimneys. We raised our concerns about the cobwebs and showed the woman them. Initially she said it could have happened through the night! Ha ha very funny. The cobwebs were black. I also showed her the basin tap which was loose on its mounting. The room was quite warm because we had the house boiler underneath us, in fact the wall near the bed was quite hot where the pipes passed between the floors. Sadly more attention to maintenance and cleaning needed there.
Breakfast was good with continental and a wide choice of cooked food. I enjoyed the Salmon and eggs! Room 1 is amazing with 4 poster! Evening meal at £20 for 3 courses and glass of bubbly is great value at £20/person. Outside space is beautiful and there are plenty of secluded areas to relax and enjoy the location.
Found a bit of dust and a few cobwebs in the corners of the room, however it is 120 years old and didn't spoil our stay at all.
we were pleasently surprised with the hotel no complaints whatsoever. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Accomodation perfect. This was an overnight stop wish we could have stayed longer.
There was no lift but they arranged accomodation for me on the first floor.
This place is a hidden gem. It is off the beaten track and Ideal for a quiet stay. The food is excellent and very good value for money. The staff are very helpful without being 'in your face'.
The bath took a long time to fill
Friendly staff lovely quiet location in a beautiful building. Breakfast was brilliant, freshly cooked. We were going for out for the evening but the menu on display in reception looked very tasty and we shall definately be returning in the future to sample the restaurant. We all had a wonderful relaxing stay.
