With a stay at Dormy Inn Premium Wakayama Natural Hot Spring in Wakayama, you'll be a 2-minute drive from Wakayama Castle and 10 minutes from Porto Europa. Featured amenities include a computer station, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hot spring and amenities in this hotel are amazing. Complimentary noodles at night. Microwave, washer, dryer in the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room size is adequate but very tidy and clean. We enjoyed the hot spring inside the hotel very much, we went there every night when we was staying in the hotel and we could feel our tiredness fade away as we soaked in the hot water. They offer free washing machine for you to use (drying is a paid service) and that's very handy because we could drop our clothes in wash on the last day and it'll be done by the time we finished soaking in the hot spring. Oh and don't forget about the free ramen offered by the hotel at night, delicious and what a nice place to hang out after hot spring! The location is good as well, we drove and there are plenty of car parks nearby (cheaper than the one the hotel offered), otherwise, dormy Inn is a few mins walk from the Wakayama train station. Overall, a great stay in this hotel, will definitely recommend.
Cons: Could offer free parking for hotel guests. The twin bed room I shared with my sister is bigger than the double bed room shared by my parents.... so it would've been better if the double bed room is bigger.
7.1 Good
Cons: charge kid without bedding and meal. and why over 1000yen?!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is good It’s near the train station.
Cons: The car park was full when I were there.
9.1 Excellent
Cons: The double room is way too small for two people.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hot Spring is wonderful, this is the best and enjoyable facility in Dormy.
Cons: hotel is close to Wakayama station, only 3 mins walk. warm service with welcome noodle for all residents. this is my 2nd times accomodate at this hotel, breakfast last time was better with more choices but it is still nice this time. Only one comment on reception, my wife was treated badly when she picked up a newspaper from a newspaper rack. She was not good in English or Japanese but curious to see newspaper there. She just picked one for a look but a woman with serious face beat my wife on her shoulder and quickly grab the newspaper back without explaining anything. "How come this Japanese woman is so rude? What's the problem reading newspaper that is displayed in the lobby? It is my first time seeing Japanese is unpolite to tourist." my wife said. Later on, I noted the newspaper shoild be used with charge and I explained to my wife, however it was still feeling bad for the lady who seized rudely.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, free ramen at night is a good service. The onsen is well managed and the water made my skin feel smooth.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good (small) Onsen in the Hotel. Close to the railway station. Fine restaurants in the surrounding.
Cons: The breakfast quality
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is really near the Wakayama station and bus stop, so its really convenient. There is a lot of restaurant and convenience store nearby, so you don’t have to be worried about not finding places to eat. I also like how we get complimentary ramen every night from 9:30pm - 11:00pm and the ramen was delicious too! Also, their onsen provide from makeup remover - lotion and the onsen was quite big, they also have a sauna. If you don’t really feel comfortable with crowded onsen, you can check on the TV on your room if its crowded or unoccupied. There is also a laundry and drying machine on property. A massage seat also many vending machine on the property. There is a milk vending machine! Really recommended to buy after enjoying the onsen and drink a glass of milk. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here.
7.5 Good
Pros: We like the noodles for free.
Cons: All is quite good, maybe need to decaration.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was a small hidden gem for me. I didn't expect much, booked on the day of arrival and my expectations were exceeded by far: bed very comfortable (looked a bit poor on the pics but is quite fine in reality), shower room very functional, nice japanese home wear, superb location from the station and most impressive for me (and I'd have almost skipped it): the onsen. I have had several onsens in Japan so far but this one was my best. Decent size, 3 pools, thereof one with cold water plus sauna. My girlfriend and I had a very good stay here and would def. come again. Especially good for shorter stays and we stayed for one day.
Cons: Nothing.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice public bath area Convenient location Thoughtful to offer late night noodle for free
Cons: Room setting a bit odd n small

Pros: A fantastic place with tones of character and lovely staff. The rooms are large and clean full of interesting touches. The bar and restaurant has great food. The area is terrific too. If you’re looking at this place, you will love it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff really went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I really appreciated it.
Cons: A little bit of a walk from the station but it was doable!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooftop was a must. The staff is kind . The place is well-decorated. Easy to find and good location (15min by walk from the train station.)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: a very good hotel and a very kind staff there as well as the good location. there is a commercial street providing a selection of food and drinks and other entertainment. I really appreciate it for staying in Wakayama! :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent host with great atmosphere. Good to have a drink at night.
Cons: nope
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I like the cafe & bar space and staff. The atmosphere of bar is nice, and has many books about cafes in Wakayama. (because I like cafe-hopping) And all the staff are very good and friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really like the bunk beds, the curtains they, the light and sockets at each bed. The bar, lounge and common areas were cozy and stylish and I love how accommodating and friendly the entire staff was. The place was so aesthetically pleasing. I was EXTRA HAPPY when I realized that they had shampoo, conditioner and body wash in all the showers for free. I think previously they didn't and I was worried about that, but when I went there they did and that really made the stay perfect for me. They also have a fridge where you can keep your food and a microwave, both of which are found on the same floor the rooms are in. They also had a functioning kitchen downstairs. I also liked how comfy their pillows were and how clean everything was. They cleaned every day. The location is great, there's a bus stop just 3 minutes away and you can go to the JR station or the Nankai station. There were also many eateries around and the staff really help you out in getting familiar with the area. I also like that there was a sentou (traditional public bath house) just across the street. I'm sad I didn't get to do but oh well, I'll try again next time. The internet was decent too. I could stream netflix or youtube on my laptop with not problem. I think you get more than what you pay for with this place.
Cons: Nothing really. Oh, I wish they had bidets in all the bathrooms. They only had one in the ground floor bathroom. Other than that everything was perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large bar and public area. They provide a cute hand-made city map for each guest.
Cons: No air-condition at the room. But they provide fans beside each bed. It was still a little bit hot during sunny days.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really beautiful, clean and modern hostel! Love the bar and common area downstairs, as well as the rooftop. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and staff were great. Location is good, not too far from the station and in a nice quiet area.
Cons: Only one toilet and shower on our floor, luckily there weren't many other guests staying at the time

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is big, just 2 minutes walk from jr station.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location next to JR station; clean bed, floor and bathroom; adequate facilities in need for business traveling.
Cons: Condition of the room for the request of non-smoking room: Parfüm mixed with tobacco scent in the room without no-smoking sign. Those scents ruined ‘clean and beautiful’ image of the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room is bigger than expected. Location is excellent. Just next to the JR station. 20 minute walk to the famous castle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: Please have airport limo stop in front of hotel

Cons: The room is quite small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lobby staff were so helpful and super nice and friendly. The location is awesome. Close to a mall and supermarket and also the train station
8.3 Excellent
Pros: 1 minute from Wakayama station, 15~20 minutes walk to Wakayama castle and major tourist attractions. Perfect access to any part of region via railways. Nice garden view from the window, clean room.
Cons: At Granvia Okayama they had more amenities for female guests. Had a trouble as there were no cotton pads to remove make-up.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I spent only one night in this hotel the day I arrived in Japan, I was given room 740 which was kind of small (kind of expected in Japan for standard rooms) but still had everything needed in terms of furniture and amenities. The bed was also comfy, not too hard and not too soft. The staff was really helpful, they helped me filling the form required to forward my luggage to the next hotel. All in all I'd say that this hotel gives you a good-enough value for the price, especially when you consider its position just in front of the Wakayama railway station.
Cons: On the day of check-in there was at least one of the staff at the reception desk with great English skills, on the other hand on the day of check-out it was very difficult to communicate with the staff. We still managed and I'm not really bothered by this, mind you, but I was kind of surprised because when you are greeted at the reception desk by someone so good at speaking English you'd expect that the hotel has at least one person on duty at any time capable of communicating in English.

Pros: The hotel has a very nice view of the port where the private boats berthed. It is also very close to the popular Porta Europa and Kuroshio market. The hotel provided extravagant toiletries and pajamas, which i enjoyed using and wearing very much. :) My room is a smoking room, but it didn't smell! Probably because of the air purifier unit in the room.. Well done! Also, we had to check out early and the staff had provided us with a take away breakfast set and its portion was generous! 7.5 Good
Pros: Spacious
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was a honeymoon trip so we loved that we can stay in former love hotel. They gave us very nice room with the Fujisan painting on the wall - I loved it! For japan standards the room was really big and comfy and the bathroom was exquisite and the bed was really comfy. The staff was so nice, they even borrowed us an umbrela as it was raining :)
Cons: We could not find how to do the caraoke - I was looking forward caraoke experience but there was no way how to do that. Also it was a bit tricky to find out how to turn the lights/climatization of. Only one blanket for two people - but we could manage, it was a love hotel after all :)
6.3 Good
Pros: Quite big space in Japan standard. Clean.
Cons: A special interior design is not for everyone taste. Aircon makes too big noise, we must turn off at night!
5.0 Okay
Pros: It was basically ok. The life size mannequins in the entrance give you a bit of a fright each time you come in, which keeps you on your toes.
Cons: It's a slightly run down love hotel. There was nothing terribly wrong, but various things didn't work properly in the room, like some of the lighting and various features of the shower/bath. The room decor was either depressing or entertaining, depending on your outlook. You could get something nicer for what we paid.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big and clean room, huge bed, big and clean toilet, good Wifi connection, no issues with the checkin or checkout process, even when my Japanese is less than basic, so, perfect choice for work trip. Pretty close from Wakayama station.
Cons: Nothing really.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are big and comfy for 3 of us. The decorations in each room is different. We like the decorations : very Japanese and very artistic. There is even a jackpot machine inside the room! Staff is very friendly and helpful.

6.7 Good
Pros: The massage chair and jacuzzi provided
Cons: The room were full of scared pictures on the wall
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very interesting rooms, But next to a temple with tombs……a little far away from jr station.

With a stay at Kada Onsen Seaside Hotel Kada Kaigetsu in Wakayama, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Wakayama Castle and Awashima Shrine. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I spend 4 days there and i eat "bully" fish i had never eat before in my life! The hotspring with open bath on seaside is wonderful!
Cons: RIEN RIEN RIEN!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: The onsen, the food and the facilities provided is great.
Cons: Hotel was quite unhelpful in terms of offering shuttle back to Kada Station on checkout day - only 2 timings at around 9.30 am and 10:10 am. So even if you checked out and want to explore the place a little more you would miss the free shuttle and have to take a cab. I think with this higher price we pay, hotel should try to accommodate providing free shuttle to guests returning to Kada Station at reasonably flexible timings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Over my expectation, very good friendly staff and delicious food !!!I love this hotel very much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Onsen bath was excellent, the outdoor one was good too.
Cons: Not enough places to eat that were open. But this made the area more rustic
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed room is very clean.
Cons: I found there is not clean enough on the spring hot top bathing area especially the floor is a bit slippy which means it is not clean enough.
7.9 Good
Pros: Magnificent view from the outdoor bath
6.3 Good
Pros: good ocean view
Cons: THIS HOTEL IS ON DECORATION, YOU WILL HEAR THE NOISY AT 7AM, AND THE WORSRT THING IS THAT YOU ASK HELP FROM FRONT DESK, THEY WOULD DENY IT AND SAY SORRY THEY DONT KONW WHAT HAPPENED.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is somewhat vintage, in a good way: it gives you a genuine Japanese hotel experience. You don't just walk in as in more oxidental hotel, as in smaller hotel you have to change shoes, but the difference is that here the staff if there to present you shoes. It seem anecdotal but it's part of little details that make the experience different and genuine. Other wise the onsen is really nice and the sea view great. All of this for a really fair price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, clean and big room. We got upgrade room with sunset view. Onsen sea view was superb. Good for family stay.

Cons: Nothing at all.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very nice hosts, they dropped us at the restaurant as it was late. Very good breakfast japanese style
Cons: Pillows are too soft, got a neckache Beach is dirty but the sea is nice Far from everything A bit old building but clean
7.5 Good
Pros: Location Service
Cons: No bath/shower after 10pm (!) No heater in Onsen/bathroom area (it was really cold after taking a bath) Only one hair dryer, no cotton or make-up cleanser No mirror in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is so nice :) and helpful.
7.1 Good
Pros: The people who run the Lodge could not have been nicer, more helpful or accommodating, they really made me overlook the physical aspects of the Lodge. The night before my departure I asked what time the buses run to get me back to the train station and the answer was "no bus needed we will drive you". If you get out and explore there are some wonderful shrines, temples, parks, and beachside coastline to visit.
Cons: Unfortunately both the Lodge itself and the surrounding area have seen better days particularly the coastal promenade pathway which has huge chunks of concrete broken and tumbled about. Health & Safety would definitely shut the area down in the UK. Also most of the surrounding premises were shut but I guess it is a seasonal thing. Also it seems that overseas visitors are few and far between as there is very little information available in any other language than Japanese.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice owner, drive you to the scenic points Breakfast are traditional Japanese style and homemade, good start of the day Onsen are also good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the traditional feel of the Hotel and could imagine what the area would have been like in it's hay day. The staff were so helpful, great breakfast, the onsen experience was good and twice they ran us out to their top choice of well priced restaurants. All very memorable!
Cons: A little bit noisy but all quiet after 10pm

10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of it! The staff, the location, the amenities, the bed, especially the price was very awesome! Very recommended place to stay in Wakayama.
Cons: Narrow place
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were helpful, rooms were clean, location was good, close to shops and 5min walk to train station. Wifi and facilities
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I always stay in this hotel. It’s really good.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel and the room are clean and very comfortable. The staff is polite nd helpful. It is next to a shopping area though almost of the shops are closed by 8 and would be very difficult to find a place for dinner if arrive late. Also, it takes less then 10 minutes to Wakayama castle.
Cons: It is a bit far away from both JR station or Nankai station and takes half an hour to walk from the JR station. It is suggested to catch a taxi to the hotel if you don't want to have a good walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable great location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect but the location was a bit far.......
Cons: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good. Luxery room but a bit small. Good value for money. The location is really nice.
Cons: Bed could be bigger for 2 people...
7.9 Good
Pros: great location, different kinds of restaurants near and really good! the room was small but had a comfy yet small bed, big tv (only BBC news, otherwise 6 japanese channels) you can rent movies 24h ¥1000. close to train station wakayama shi. there's a bus stop right in-front of the hotel, direct bus to the marina bay area. wakayama castle is a 10' walk. free umbrella use and we were able to leave our luggage after checking out with no hassle. overall clean room, nice freebees, nice bathtub.
Cons: we stayed for 3 nights in this hotel&our room window was facing a concrete wall. would have been a nice gesture to at least have a descent view... the place is hostile&the doors are not sound proof (rest of the room is) so you can hear the people in other rooms.. doing naughty stuff. not very cool... the staff spoke only a little bit of english. in a hotel like that one would expect a little bit more knowledge. a manual for the air-conditioning in english would have been really great and helpful. the carpet needs cleaning, there were brown stains on it.. i'm guessing coffee(?) a toilet brush would be a good thing to have too..
7.1 Good
Cons: It takes 20-minutes by walking from the JR station.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good spot. Helpful service nice and comfortable can’t fault it

Pros: 2 minute walk from train station. Really nice breakfast selection included. Helpful staff.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was included and ok and they had rental bikes for cheap. We still couldn’t wait to get out of this hotel.
Cons: This probably was a great hotel back in the day but now it really needs renovation. There are wall-to-wall carpets everywhere and they are full of dirt. The whole place smells moist and moldy. The ventilation in our room was full of dust/mold. We saw bugs around the sink and even had a visit from a cockroach, yuck!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Daini Fuji is a typical business hotel and you get exactly what you paid for. It's comfortable, clean and efficient. The staff are kind. Even if I came in quite late in the night, I was accommodated generously by the reception staff. They even let me have an extra pillow with no additional charge. The breakfast is good and they change it up a little every day so you won't really get too bored. It's near the station, you just have to cross the street and walk for 5-7 minutes and you're there, so that was incredibly convenient. I also really liked it that there's a shampoo and conditioner station in the lobby where you could help yourself to several brands of shampoos and conditioners.
Cons: Nothing really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was great.
Cons: Only one chair in the room.

6.7 Good
Pros: good location / good breakfast
Cons: Japanese standard service but everything are old. Small room.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was close to the station.
Cons: The room, especially the barhroom was small and tight. The whole hotel was smoky. The walls were really thin. I could hear the person next door cough and snore.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff was very helpful, however the room was really small i could not even open my luggage properly.
Cons: The bidet system was hard to manage. You cannot let go of the dial to clean yourself.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Super close to rental car locations and 5 min less walk to the station. Free breakfast was nice and homey. They had various shampoos and conditioners in the lobby that you could use (pump into small containers to take to your room)
Cons: The rooms are more on the old side but for a short stay (1/2 nights) easy to look over. The rooms got a bit too hot but can be easily solved by opening the window (although 1 room's window kept closing)
7.1 Good
Pros: The special shampoo and conditioner provided at the counter is cool, and the view from its 8th floor cafeteria is good.
Cons: The bed is too small for two persons.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing. The staff were happy to be helpful.
Cons: I have no complaints. Maybe the beds could have been more comfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice cleam rooms, nice hosts.
Cons: Breakfast did not have standard stuff that western tourists are used to. No toasts/jam/butter and the similar stuff.
5.8 Okay
Cons: The room was really small and the hotel facilities, furniture, etc. Have being neglected, they look old and mistreated.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Staff were helpful in answering questions about the location and things to do. We had to leave our car key at the front desk so they moved cars that left before you. If you don't like the shampoo&rinse, they provide many varieties at the front desk you can take a small bit to use. AIr freshener and hand sanitizer by the elevator on each floor to use freely.
Cons: I asked a few questions when I made the reservation through booking.com but none of it was answered. I requested for no smoking twin room, but we got a smoking room which smelled. The rooms were a bit small for two adults. Not much space to keep luggage. The person staying before us set the alarm and didn't turn it off so we were woken up at 6:15 am on January 1st after being out all night till 3 am! Staff should've checked. Not many outlets to plug in the humidifier and air purifier (provided) and a cell phone charger. Breakfast only till 9 a.m. but they clean up by 8:50 am. so you need to be there beforehand. Not much vegetarian options. Just cereal and yogurt and plum rice ball and salad.
6.7 Good
Pros: It was very close to the station and the staff is very helpful. Ok for a one night stay if you are on budget. It includes a decent breakfast for free.
Cons: The rooms are extremely small, the air is very dry even using the humidifier in the room and the bed a bit too soft. The hotel looks very old.
