Location is fantastic, the bridge and river front area is beautiful. Texas Ranger Museum just up the road is easily walkable and worth a stop if you have time.
Very nice staff
great breakfast and service
great breakfast but the price that booking gave me was not the price i paid. Plus the same thing happened to me when i booked a room with booking.com for my Hamptons visit at the huntting hotel. You quoted me the price i should have paid but when it was all done and i recived the bill it was more money from the hotel. Dont understand
The pool was nice, provided towels and they had pool service. Beds were comfortable.
I don’t know about you, but when I pay over $200 a night for a room, I have certain expectations of the room, quality of the entire hotel and staff. This hotel does not meet that price. The staff is extremely unprofessional for the price that is paid. Their upscale looking dining room is a joke when there’s bird poop on a window and the glass wine case and doors are not up to cleanliness standards. When I pay this price, I expect that bird poop cleaned within 10 hours. I expect my hotel room curtain to not be broken (even after I complained, they never fixed it), I expect my room to be vacuumed before I check in (there were staples on the floor), I expect a stain on the floor to be removed (there was a stain on the carpet that they didn’t even try to remove), and I expect smiles and greetings from all hotel employees when I pass them. Hell, I didn’t even get a warm welcome at the reception desk. When your consumer is paying such a high price, they have expectations to go with those prices, and it was nowhere close. It might be a small town, but I still expect to get the same service from Hilton employees no matter what city I’m in. I didn’t pay to have broken curtains, stained non-vacuumed floors, and to listen to the drama of the dining room staff at breakfast (so unprofessional). Also, I could hear them dropping the dirty dishes in the containers, why not get a door right there to that hallway by the juices, because when a door closes in that hallway it’s really loud. I should note that anyone taller than 5’8” might have a hard time showering without ducking... heads up!
I like healthy choices, e.g., oatmeal, fruit, etc., and it was all available and tasty. The coffee was exceptional.
There were some obnoxious $20 charges for nothing, and it always takes several days to work out the cancellation of these charges. There were two of them on this trip, and one has still not been reversed.
