Very tired hotel. Definitely not 4 star by western or Vietnamese standards. We had a very disturbed nights sleep due to noise and banging on the corridor. We called reception but it made no difference. We mentioned it again in the morning but barely got an apology.
I stayed 3 nights at dic Star. The first two nights were great. But the third night was a terrible experience that I ever had. The power went off at 10pm. I wait for 10 minutes and called the receptionist, and he advised the power will be back soon. My family was so tired and made the big mistake to stay in the room. We all fell asleep, and suddenly woke up at 2am and felt unbearable because of no air condition. We called the front desk, and he said the power was off and didn’t know when it would be back. He advised me to open the balcony door. At that time, I cannot exit because no light for me to going down. We woke up early and brought all luggage’s down without any help even we asked for. We met the new reception and she was surprised that nobody transferred us to different hotel. We were upset and scared when realized only our family in the hotel. I realized they moved the group of guests from the lower floor because all those people stayed in the same group. Only my family on the 8th floor and they ignored us. They tried to charged me for 3 nights, but I refused to pay the last night. Manager was agreed to waive, and apologized. I totally understand the power outage is not controllable. But never informed the guests and assist during the emergency is not accepted. Since this is not in America, I really don’t know how to deal with this hotel. I still feel angry.
The room was clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony was nice.
The brochure was utterly misleading. There was no private beach and given the average to low quality of their facilities, a "four" star international rating is highly questionable. We were met with an indifferent 'welcoming' reception and we were not informed about any of the facilities at the hotel. The internet in the room was very poor and the TV had very few channels (no English ones). The all you can eat buffet was very average, not even close to a four star rating. As for the gym, you had to make a reservation and we were not informed about tickets required for their own swimming pool which is disconnected from the actual hotel. At best this is a 2 star hotel.
Daily clean-up starts around 7am even during weekend, very noisy. Check-out wasn't prepared properly, no receipt was given before asking, and they forgot to return my ID that they insist to keep during my stay, if I didn't ask to have it back. not recommended if you're looking for a relaxing trip by the beach.
Breakfast great choices. Pool was great. Staff great.
Toilets at pool did not have sink to wash your hands. Had to come outside and use outside shower,to wash your hands.
