Cons: Breakfast was a set menu but is just ok. Would have loved a buffet.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location in city center though just enough out of the way to be peaceful at night. Friendly and helpful staff. The decor is elegant and cozy at the same time. The bookshelves/library is a nice touch.
Cons: Adding a vent in the room's bathroom would be a plus. The elevator you ride on with the car to get to the parking, though very innovative, it is a bit tight.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. Parking (car elevator but working fine). Attention of all personnel regardless of the time (we arrived very late and the attention of the reception desk was fantastic).
Cons: Breakfast and breakfast venue. Probably the least attractive part of the service. Very basic and the venue is not as modern as you would expect (dark and akward). Room furniture dated and needing some attention. Temperature of bath room (too hot).

Overview Reviews
16 Suites and Apartments establishment of wide size, fully equipped and decorated with great luxury furnished with all kinds of details, complete kitchens, independent lounge - dining room, with the whole equipment of furniture, TV, WiFi, etc.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: If you are traveling in a car (especially if it is a big one) be careful with parking. I was traveling from the north of Spain in a pretty big car (Land Rover Discovery). I booked this hotel because it says in booking that it has its own parking and I didn’t expect any problems with it. I called the hotel a day in advance to book the parking place and was told to call in the morning the day I arrive. I did so and they told me that there are no parking places available. Since it was in October, which is not a peak of the season, I guess the number of parking places they have is very limited. I think you should mention this on the booking page. The staff told me that there would no problem to park in the street. I spent an hour looking for the parking place in the street and in the end parked 1 km away and had to carry my bags all this way. It was impossible to stop in front of the hotel because the special place they have was occupied all the time. I have called the hotel several times and have not received any help from the staff. It was a nice touch after doing 300 km. Also keep in mind that if you come during the weekend you can check in after 5 pm. The breakfast was very average. The rest was good. We booked an apartment. It was big, modern and clean. If it wasn’t for the parking problem I would’ve liked my stay at the hotel a lot.
7.5 Good
Pros: I like privacy
Cons: Didn’t like beds how there was two beds not clipped together and on wooden floor they just kept rolling on wheels so it’s not suitable for a couple
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Excellent stay ... and over all welcome by the very attentive staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved every part of being here. Very modern and all kitchen facilities included even a dishwasher and washing machine. Car was kept safe underground as we were safe as only enter the hotel when let in by staff. Overall 10/10....
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff excellent and friendly. We were upgraded and the room was large, well equipped and very comfortable. Our dog was welcomed and there was enough greenery around the corner to give him a walk. Parking useful. The « panaderia » next door sells great bread which you can see being made. A good stopover.
Cons: The plug in the bathroom sink was awkward. And if that is all I can complain about you can tell how good it was !!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A nicely furnished apartment in a location that suits us.
Cons: Kitchen equipment is a bit limited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Apartment was spacious, with large windows, fully equiped and in a nice neighborhood.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location, attention, clean,
Cons: Breakfast could be better
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Valladolid itself is a very nice town with beautiful buildings. This hotel is in a very good location, though as it is central and parking is difficult you have to pay extra for parking within the hotel. The room was very comfortable and well furnished and the bed had quality linen on it. The room even had a mini kitchen. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: I would rate the breakfast as poor and did not represent value for money.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff very helpful. Met our needs with an elderly parent with a warmth and smile. Bed, pillows very comfortable for weary travellers.
Cons: We're in transit, so could not enjoy the facilities .
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good parking, nice communal areas, really nice take away coffee trolley in the lobby.
Cons: The property itself is fine and nice in the communal areas, rooms do not have attention to detail or particularly nice furnishing. Fairly clean (apart from the odd hair not belonging to us) but really lacking on supplies for toiletries (cheap and basic), no robes/slippers, no soundproofing between rooms (could hear the tv and snoring for adjoining rooms). Staff were not particularly helpful and room service food was terrible (the bread was hard enough to take your teeth out). Lack of any help (porter) for luggage.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and staff, particularly those in the restaurant
Cons: Not a cosy place..dark rooms, no quiet areas to sit and have a drink and a chat. The worst item was the unpleasant and loud music. Spain has a great number of fantastic guitar compositions which can be soothing and relaxing. The noise of so called popular music played too loudly is one of our biggest irritations in many hotels.
7.1 Good
Cons: the hotel use the gauranty credit card to make unutorized charge of mor than 450 euros. i talk by phone with the hotel and the answer was very poor. so i hade to cancel the credit card to recieve back my money,
7.1 Good
Pros: It is located conveniently for my business needs. Parking is free. Staff at reception was nice - haven't seen anyone else.
Cons: This could be a good 4* hotel, but for a 5* hotel I have most definitely higher expectations. The bed is not good (too hard, too few pillows, almost non-existing duvet); bath amenities are rather basic, lack of power outlets in the room, didn't see any sauna / spa facilities, nobody to bring your luggage around the stairs...
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Nothing. A great place to stsy
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was good comfortable dinner

Pros: Very comfortable and clean room, super location yet very quiet and helpful staff. This is our second visit - would definitely return again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for a 5 night stay. Room (303) large and quiet and very clean. Requested gluten free option for breakfast and they had both cereal and bread (good quality) and soya milk, a first as normally the best most hotels will do is bread!. The staff were super, on arrival we were given a map and a detailed explanation of where to visit and restaurant recommendations and the restaurant staff were always pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. We opted for hotel parking (€14) per day. We were taken to the carpark which is only 5 minutes walk by a member of staff. On arrival in the city it may be best to go straight to the Plaza Mayor carpark (well signposted) and then at check in ask for the carparking. We had one evening meal in the hotel restaurant and this compared very favourably with the other restaurants we had visited.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great service from the manager

Best rooms in Valladolid

Hotel Rio Hortega - Valladolid - Building
1
8.6 Excellent (1,803 reviews)
5.4 Okay
Pros: Convenient for our road trip. Use of a microwave and kettle. Large terrace which gets a good sunrise.
Cons: First room wasn’t made up. So boyfriend had to get back down to reception and another room was arranged. Took a while - poor man on duty alone. Then the key card didn’t work. Back down again. By this time we were laughing out of delirious exhaustion. Thankful we had a sense of humour. Please note that the car park has no sensor lights. I got trapped in the dark alone - didn’t know where the light switch was. If you leave you partner alone down there doing bags while you check in - show him/her the lights switch. Comfy bed. Clean when room made up

Pros: The hotel was modern and comfortable and the staff were very helpful.
Cons: This isn't the hotel's fault but we had difficulties finding the hotel and getting to it. Signposts for the hotel were not always clearly visible and then when we saw one, we found ourselves in the wrong lane in dense traffic and had to drive past our turnoff. We went round in a few circles before we actually managed to get to the hotel. However, once we found it, we had no further problems!

Pros: The staff was always friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations for area activities and restaurants. Our room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

7.1 Good
Pros: Well positioned hotel within 15mins walk of all main areas of town and the Plaza Mayor. Valladolid is a beautiful, well maintained town with numerous bars, restaurants and sights. The Plaza Mayor is stunning. Managed to secure a junior suite for a reasonable price which made our stay a touch more comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful with our requests.
Cons: This hotel seems to be mainly for business travelers and therefore the price, I feel reflects that in some areas, ie parking and breakfast costs. The building itself is a little bumped at the edges, with ceilings having water damage and a windowsill held together with tape.
