10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location, beautifully designed and appointed resort, spacious, beautiful bedroom overlooking the Beagle Channel, beautiful open garden slope with walkway down to pebbled beach, wonderful, welcoming staff who are committed to customer service, exquisite breakfasts, good bar and restaurant open long hours, beautiful glassed seating areas with stunning views - the wintergarden glass conservatory + others - courtesy bus into town, quiet and comfortable ambience, excellent gift shop with quality local and other Argentinean products. An absolutely wonderful place to spend time and relax; stayed 3 nights, wish I could have stayed a week.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff, Shuttle bus between city and hotel, view from restaurant, cozy and comfortable atmosphere
Cons: Not so reasonable in overall price
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was wonderful with an exceptional staff. The views throughout the property were spectacular. I highly recommend this hotel. All the food was wonderful and an excellent wine selection as well.
Cons: The only thing that I felt we could've used was a fan. Being is Ushuaia air condition isn't necessary but at night the room tended to be a bit stuffy and the flow of air from the window, when opened, was held back by the curtains. Other than that, we loved this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel. Perfect view, room, spa, breakfast, everything
Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The staff, the views, the comfortable beds, the spa area, the food are all really great. The gym is pretty well equipped for a hotel gym. More free weights than you usually get in a hotel so that was a pleasant surprise.
Cons: It has no faults.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views and great staff!
Cons: Far from city center
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible attention to details when it comes to what we need. The every single staff was friendly and helpful. The tours arranged by the hotel were excellent. The tour guided made every experience a success! The room’s view is breathtaking (we had the Beagle Channel view). The rooms and facilities are very clean. The Spa was lovely. Thank you Los Cauquenes for an unforgettable stay in Ushuaia.
Cons: The breakfast was great however it lacked some variety of options. (Example: all the meats available were only pork and there was only one type of cheese available).
Arakur Ushuaia Resort & Spa - Ushuaia - Building

9.3 Excellent (953 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed in a lot of 5 stars hotels worldwide, but Arakur is standing up in the top. The location is absolutely amazing, 10 minutes drive from the city, and you can see the Beagle canal, the mountains and the whole city. We have seen some amazing sunsets. The food is very good and for good rates. The room has good size, comfortable beds and superb views. The highlight of the hotel was the pool, with very hot water and perfect service. The pool had music under the water and the fact that you could easy stay outside at 5 degrees, was wow. The service and the staff there was great. I am very looking forward to come back. Congrats to all the team there.
Cons: First time when I rate a hotel with 10/10 and I need to leave this box empty :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outside hot tubs were perfect. Staff is wonderful and helped us book a walking with the Penguins tour. Room and spa services were great. Incredible views from every window!
Cons: Construction was happening during massage even though it was at 8pm.
6.3 Good
Pros: The second time at the Arakur hotel I was completely disappointed. The only thing that has its superiority over other hotels in this class is the panoramas that open from the windows and the pool. Just magical, mesmerizing views. Unfortunately, I can’t add anything more about this hotel in a positive way.
Cons: This time did not like the work of the staff. When registering at the hotel, they gave me a key card that did not work. I had to go back to the reception and wait until they solve my problem, because at that time there was already a line of guests checking into the hotel, and the administrator worked only one. In addition, there was an unpleasant incident when the cleaning lady entered my room without knocking at that moment while I was not quite dressed. There were also technical problems in room 307, there is a crack in the glass, the frame of the mirror is scratched and the shower head is leaking. In general, this is not at all what you expect from a five-star hotel, which calls itself one of the leading hotels in the world
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing :)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great and on-site walks quite nice.
Cons: Crowded - especially pool. Meals quite expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is amazing. The view is astonishing and the trails all around were fantastic. The hotel is a wonderful place.
Cons: Nothing at all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel. 5 star view. Extremely nice staff. Very helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Clean, comfortable rooms. Very nice property.
Cons: In-room facilities are lacking. Not much amenities besides toiletries. Shuttle buses are very strict with timing. They don't wait extra 2s. Very on the dot. Shuttle frequency should be increased to 30 mins instead of 60mins.
Aijpel Bed & Breakfast - Ushuaia - Building
3
9.4 Excellent (115 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Aijpel Bed & Breakfast in Ushuaia, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Ushuaia Port and Merced Church. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Our rooms were comfortable and clean. Owners are friendly and helpful with information about the area. The service was fantastic. We had an early morning bus to catch and owners served us a full breakfast at 4.45am even though we would have been happy with a cup of tea.
Cons: It's quite a distance from town, but owner offered to pick us up from harbour on our arrival. Taxis are very cheap!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The following was exceptional: service and friendliness; helpfulness with airport pick-up, making plans and getting bus tickets, etc. Just fantastic!! Made a big difference for our trip. The home was friendly, our room was clean and comfortable (we had the twin, two single beds and our own bathroom), and breakfast was good and plentiful. The room/amenities are basic but clean and comfortable and so Aijpel offers a great value. The location is very good. We walked right into town center and it was also a very easy walk to laundry service and grocery store. This makes the location very convenient.
Cons: The following are a couple of considerations for improvement: the hot water pressure in the shower was not consistent, and the neighborhood has a lot of dogs that sometimes bark in the evenings. If you are a very light sleeper, this noise may be an issue.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Susana and her husband are lovely hosts and very helpful, great breakfast, quiet location
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The two kitty cats and old dog made us feel at home. Despite only staying one night, the host was very friendly and happy to have us.
Cons: The breakfast was very little. If you want a bigger meal you might want to go out for bfast. Think of this as a snack rather than a full breakfast. The wifi SAS poor in the rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The b&b is a warm place with adorable pets (1 dog 2 cats) and a very nice hosting family. Susana and Fernando are great people, helped where they could, booked our trips, arranged transportation, allowed us to print our bustickets etc. Eventhough we only speak a little spanish everything worked out very well. We booked a private room with shared bathroom and got an upgrade to one with a privte bathroom. The room was comfortable and was cleaned every day. The homestay is a few minutes (~10min walking) away uphill from the center in a quite residential area. Breakfast was good! We loved it! Thanks again! ¡Muchas gracias! :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpul and friendly owners. They picked us up from bus station and at the end of our stay drove us to the airport. Very Comfy and clean room and bathroom. The best breakfast we had in Argentina. We felt like at home. Strongly recomend.

Pros: Spacious modern apartment with windows that opened, lots of places to sit and hang stuff, good bedside lights, fluffy towels, adequate kitchen equipment, helpful staff. Close to supermarket. I'd stay here again.
Cons: It was up a hill, as are many hostelries in Ushuaia. The most direct route may not be the easiest way to get there. Mostly quiet, except for the next door barking dogs.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really good value, large apartment with kitchen and private bathroom. Daily servicing by staff which meant an extra clean place!
Cons: Room was a bit hot (in December)

Pros: I went to Ushuaia for only a day and half, Alejandro and Francis are super friendly, their house is super cozy especially the living room. We were in a rush the early morning the next day, Francis made us coffee before we leave and served us easy but tasty breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was one of the best hotel experience in Argentina. The owners are kind, fun and they treat us like family. Waking up looking at trees is priceless.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The facilities of my house (the cabin with 5 beds) are old, but all work well. So I don't think it's a real problem.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We really appreciated the hosts' advice on activities and things to do. We got info on a hike along the bay that was just fantastic and no tourists (a totally hidden GEM! thank you!). We only stayed one night with odd arrival and departure hours, and they let us drop our bags early before check in, and stored them post check-out so we could go out and have some fun. Their dog is just the sweetest pup, and the property is homey and felt like a home away from home. I had a great shower with good water pressure. The location is GREAT. Quiet residential neighborhood and an easy walk down to the main town center for shopping and restaurants. Also there was a grocery store right nearby.
Cons: Our room had a heater, but the temperature control was still a bit tricky for us. The room comfort level overall is basic (which was fine with us, but just so people know). We had a twin (2-single beds) room with shared bathroom.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The design of the hotel was simple and beautiful . Reminded me of Sweden. The location is in the lovely woods. Lovely walks (hikes) . Some people reviewed the rooms as being needing redecorating and ours was lovely but we saw some that had very busy wallpaper. They could easily change that. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. We were so happy with this stay. We only had drinks and small bites at the hotel. Great bartender. Then we walked to the French restaurant up the hill. (Chez manu)
Cons: Can't think of anything.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to forest to hike, fun pool for kids and jacuzzi! Free 2hr shuttle to town, very convenient and very friendly staff.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It really reflected Argentina and all the wonders of Antarctica too. It's cosy, great food and views. The menu includes the two specialities - crab and lamb. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. It's steeped in history and has tracks that you can walk.
Cons: The location is a little far away from the town centre. The shuttle coach could be bigger or there should be two. The schedule of departures could be tweaked a bit.
6.2 Good
Pros: Awesome game room for kids and tons of daily activities. Babysitting services are available by calling an extension number. Free breakfast was fantastic. Nice pool and hot tub facility also.
Cons: Room quality wasn't what we expected. We had a standard room only and it was mediocre for the price. Older hotel that could use revamped rooms. Bathrooms have not been updated in a long time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel exeeded my expectation. All very lovely, including staff, location, cleaniss and decoration of the rooms. Exellente breakfast and dinner options! Very good inhouse restaurante! Very nice view of the harbour and the Channel of Beagle. Hotel placed in the middle of the nature and closed to the mountains.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: All was good. The staff was courteous. The outdoor jacuzzi had some issues. One should note that this is a ski resort and its best to do a stay in this property in winters. Over all nice property.
Cons: There was no difference between the room and the junior suite which was quiet shocking

Cons: The spotlights shining on the front of the hotel. We had an ocean view room, the view is superb, however at night they turn on spotlights that point directly to the rooms, they have blackout curtains but the light still gets thru the cracks. I would stll get the room with the view.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The best view of the town from the hotel - excellent breakfast/sit down facility with a million-dollar views (wish breakfast had a bit more variety, better sausages and scrambled eggs and fresh cookies/baked goods). Appreciate free coffee/tea availability and staff's assistance. Proximity to everything is excellent. We'll stay in the hotel again, when visiting.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The kitchenette was what i was hoping for so i did not have to eat out for every meal. The shower had good pressure and good hot water. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. They provided a one-page map of the Main Street area that was super helpful in finding the grocery store, money exchange, laundry place, and restaurants.
Cons: The street was loud with traffic and there was construction next store with saws and music playing until 22:00 on one of the nights. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were cold one day and not very warm the other days. I asked the lady to please scramble a couple of fresh eggs for me on the day they were cold and she did. The room was very warm even though no heaters were on in the space and there was no air conditioning so i had to have my windows open most of the time thus increasing the noise from outside. The towel warmer was stuck on high with no way to turn it off myself and i had to ask for maintenance to come turn it off. There was no washcloth in the room and only one body towel and one hand towel. I was traveling solo but would still like to have a couple of towels on hand so i asked for them and i got them. I did ask to move rooms to get away from the street and the construction but no room with a different orientation was available. But they did try to accommodate me. And the noisiest night was the first night and it got better after that so all was well. There was no TV in the sitting room only a couch and the kitchenette so most of my time in the room was spent in the bedroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stunning view from the breakfast room was a wonderful introduction to Ushuaia. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and attractive. Perfect for what we wanted.
Cons: Happy with everything

Cons: Location is on the far side from center, next to dirt road which is not great for pedestrians, shower leaked onto bathroom floor

Pros: This is a well equipped and comfortable place...but WOW...you should meet Sebastian the owner. He treats you like royalty. There is not a thing he would not do to help. He is full of really valuable local information and speaks English extremely well. We had dinner there one night- it was the best meal I've had in years in a beautiful setting overlooking the canal. Breakfast was also really nice. I think this is the best place I've ever stayed- thanks so much Sebastian and family.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very nice and we loved staying by the channel rather than in town. Far from the city centre but they offer a free shuttle service(I think they should have more time slots though in busy times like Xmas holidays)Very clean, staff very friendly, good breakfast and the restaurant is also very very good! the double bed was huge, I greatly enjoyed that, and very nice and powerful shower.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoy birds so loved how close to the beach (therefore the birds) the hotel was. Staff willing to help with all queries and problems Free shuttle to town was great
Cons: Bar and restaurant open late in the evening. Numerous large groups so food service was a bit slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible location looking out into the Beagle channel, so quiet and peaceful compared to the busy city. The restaurant is quite popular with the locals and everything is reasonably priced. The hotel even operates a free shuttle bus into the city regularly throughout the day saving on taxi fares.
Cons: It would be great to have an all-inclusive option when booking as there aren't many restaurants nearby. The radiators in the bathrooms don't have thermostats so the temperature in the room can be overwhelming if the weather is fair!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a little removed from downtown but facing the sea, with a great view. Front desk staff was fantastic and even helped us to book a last minute tour. It takes 15 minutes and 350 ars to take a taxi to downtown, or you can take the hotel’s shuttle.
Cons: The hotel shuttle’s schedule was a bit inconveniently placed. Restaurant was bland at best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spectacular place at the sea coast. Well equiped rooms with the sea view.
Cons: The hotel has its own restaurant. The food was however average. The food during breakfast was not or was very slowly refilled by stuff when previous guests consumed it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The front desk service was outstanding. They helped with every question and request

Pros: The view from my room on the second floor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The service given by the young reception lady (Sophia) was excellent. Rooms are very spacious. Free shuttle bus to town
Cons: Breakfast is very sugar rich. You will find cookies sweetened croissants, fruit from a can, sweetened juice, sweetened yoghurt and much more with sugar. We would have preferred muesli with plain yoghurt, eggs, multiple choices of fresh brown bread, fr3sh fruit etc a more healthy option.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views. Staff was very helpful. Free shuttle service to downtown. Ten minute walk to a super market.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful hotel, beautifully situated with a beautiful view. Very clean and spacious. Our flight had some trouble but communication with the hotel was perfect
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: That I left early
Cons: What a disappointment! For the first time in 37 years of travel I left a hotel halfway through the stay. Middle of nowhere location that does NOT really have any good views (the restaurant is in front of the windows so you actually don’t see much), the most awful breakfast, paper thin walls so you can’t sleep half of the night because you hear you neighbor breathing, restaurant closed until 8pm with nothing to eat nearby and, to top it off, very UNhelpful staff when things got rough. Stay away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It’s a warm place, pretty confortable and with family values!!
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic, rooms are beautiful, good breakfast was included and the shuttle services is great
Cons: The lady at the reception desk was not always very nice, shuttle services does not allow to arrive for tour starts in the morning, therefore taxi service was needed

Pros: Friendly staff and great food (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Cons: Room a bit warm and dated (peeling wallpaper, no curtain on shower window)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean. Comfortable beds. Large rooms. The view (had an ocean view room). Updated. Quite. Location (was out of town). Restaurant and bar on site. Wifi. Free parking. Free shuttle.
Cons: The spotlights shining on the front of the hotel. We had an ocean view room, the view is superb, however at night they turn on spotlights that point directly to the rooms, they have blackout curtains but the light still gets thru the cracks. I would stll get the room with the view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view overlooking the beagle channel.....best location and you must consider this hotel if visiting Ushuaia
Cons: Nil
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views, nice big room and bathroom
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location on the hill. They even had an observation deck that gave amazing views of Ushuaia Bay. A shuttle bus service to go down to town was available and it was just as easy to get a taxi throught he front desk if we did'nt want to wait.
Cons: The on-site restaurant had very limited vegetarian choices for lunch / dinner. Breakfast was good. But otherwise, it is a great hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view. Comfortable room.
Cons: Whole hotel needs a bit of modernization / maintenance. City center shuttle should run more frequently.

8.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast
5.1 Okay
Pros: The location was good - right across the street from the cruise terminal
Cons: The heat was not regulated, and we had to keep the window open to reduce it from >80 degrees F in the room. The road noise was loud. The Junior Suite advertised a sofa and a full dryer and neither was in our room. The breakfast area had no clean tables - yet more than 10 empty and not bussed tables. The breakfast selection was poor, and not everything seemed very fresh. Wifi was unreliable at best in both the room and common areas. For cruise traffic, the early check out time was extremely inconvenient and we refused to pay the upcharge OVER the high rate to check out later.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel was basic but clean. It was very warm but we opened the window for a cool breeze.
Cons: If it had been really hot during our stay we would have liked the hotel to have A/C. The rooms are quite small with single beds. The room decor is a bit tired looking - could use a new decor.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Wasn't impressed.
Cons: Eggs weren't cooked enough. Not much selection of hot food.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The receptionists were very kind, especially a guy named Daniel who helped us in an exceptional way
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly service.
Cons: Room was next to elevator and street view. It was very noisy and made it difficult to sleep without ear plugs or eye mask.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Spacious suite, huge comfortable bed, beautiful water view, dining room, breakfast, good mini bar. We would have stayed longer but they were sold out.
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location, nice room, and nice little pool we didn't get a chance to use. fast easy check in.
Cons: they did try and stick me and my husband in a room with separate twins because we "didn't specify", which I thought was weird to assume, but they were able to put us in a double, thankfully.

Cons: Only complaint- no tea making facilities in room
7.9 Good
Pros: Central locations
Cons: Mildly welcoming
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the hotel and it was comfortable but there is no room control for the heating. I stayed 3 nights and eventually had to change to a car park side room so I could have the windows open and not have road noise.
Cons: Too hot and no room control
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location across from the ship docks. Friendly staff. A room was available and I was able to check in early. Although the hotel is across from the ships, passengers for our trip met about 1/2 mile up the road. Still walkable.
Cons: There is no temperature control in the room. I had to open the window, which was great for temperatures but let the noise in too. I think most hotels in Ushuaia were the same.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location. Good breakfast.
Cons: Rooms are a bit outdated. Very loud rooms.
6.0 Good
Pros: Nice room good location
Cons: Terrible Internet, breakfast minnimal

7.1 Good
Pros: Reasonably good value - friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfasts had very limited choices. Access is difficult with suitcases - due to very steep hillside location. We were put in an “accessible” room which was quite a challenging to use; the room, particularly the bathroom had inadequate lighting. Room was noisy as it was close to the reception floor lift.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic service. Receptionists were thoroughly helpful in assisting me to get my bearings.
Cons: Walls separating my room from the next are not noise proofed. Was able to hear much of the activity.
6.3 Good
Pros: It was clean and our room had a reasonable outlook to the Andes. Wifi available
Cons: It was hot we had to leave the window open all night. The location is up a steep hill with very difficult entry to the hotel . One lady fell and smashed her face trying to negotiate the badly designed stairs and path on the steep hillside. No plug for the bath. No English menu or English speaking staff other than reception. The food was uninspiring though the waitress was lovely but only had us in the restaurant. The maintenance man was absolutely delightful and very helpful. Get to the airport early contrary to hotel advice. The rule of not allowing anyone a room till 1pm no matter what is ridiculous as the foyer was overflowing with standing guests waiting to be picked up for their cruise and all the people who had finished their cruise . They wouldn’t release rooms as they became available making for irritated guest before they are even accommodated. Not even a glass of water was available while we waited. No disability access and no help to get the bags up and down the steps before they rolled down the hill
6.3 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: It’s so noisy like a well. Thin walls make it horrible experience as you can hear everything other guest are doing in their room. It’s too much.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Reception gentleman not helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: From Hector at reception to the cleaning and catering staff, we were looked after exceptionally well - many thanks to all the MIL810 staff. The rooms while small were well set-up and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. While the hill-side location can be challenging re luggage movement, on the upside it keeps you fit!!!
Cons: Nothing to report.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to downtown
Cons: Nothing

7.9 Good
Pros: Convenient, good location
Cons: No elevator, noisy upstairs neighbors. Poor breakfast, but very good cafe con leche.
5.0 Okay
Pros: I like its location.
Cons: Breakfast was terrible.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Everything was horrible.
Cons: Everything was horrible. The room had an awfull smell and was very damp. In the bathroom there’s mold, the mattress had metal sticking out and the hygene of the rest of the place looked awfull. When opening the window, there was only rubbish lying outside, very unhealthy. The toiletseat is damaged, which is so disgusting, since germs are able to stick to the soft sort of material on the inside of the toiletseat.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, clean, good service, fair value for money.
Cons: Bad internet service & so so breakfast - not much variety to eat.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was adequate and better than no breakfast. The location was excellent
Cons: It was shabby and one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. However, there was no opportunity to change hotels as everything else appeared to be booked up. This property did not have style, so could not rate that question.
5.0 Okay
Pros: This is a stripped down no frills place. Old but functioning. On an incline so if you can't climb hills, don't stay here. 3 story walk but with no elevators. Staff will take your luggage to your room but you need to drag it down the stairs when you leave. If your room is near the stairs (as ours was), when someone was bring down their luggage, it sounded like constant steady hammering -- thump, thump, thump, thump. Wifi available, but signal is weak. The TV was a joke. Probably 17" screen, mounted high with 2 channels, both in Spanish. Black & White. Only one outlet in the room so if you need to charge your phone, laptop, toothbrush and batteries, you need to plan aheadg No room for toiletries in the bathroom. Water pressure was low but enough. Our room had a large closet that took up most of the space. The room would have been more functional without it. No one who works here really understands English but will work with you if you use Google Translate or another tool. Breakfast was available but not worth mentioning. The hotel is at the end of San Martin so you have to hike up and down the street to get here. The best thing about this place is that a currency exchange next door gives you good rates and it's down the street from a gift store that has a cute exhibit of the Ushuaia prisoners.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The comfort of the room and location. Lucio, the receptionist was very helpful in organising our time and was very attentive. The room is perfectly adequate and towels were changed everyday
Cons: The pillows.
