Cons: Bathroom is poorly designed, everything gets wet when you take a shower. Room was too hot and the temperature could not adequately be adjusted. Parking in the public garage below the hotel is expensive (about 28 Euros per day)

Cons: We had a really small room with a queensize bed but is was a very little queen size not like we are used to have in North America. Our kids had a bigger room which was ok. Breakfast time frame was not so big, and one minute before end the start cleaning up that did not veel very welcoming. We were almost finished by then but it fill like they want to have you leaving right away.

Cons: I was disappointed as my room (top floor) had only a small window high up, I was only able to look out when standing on the bed... Also it was very noisy on Friday and Saturday night, people where out on the street up till min. 2am shouting and laughing, it was very hard to sleep. On Sunday there were finally no people outside making noise but the snow truck... So overall I did not sleep very well.

Cons: Thon Gildevangen is a very nice hotel, but be sure you don't get a room facing Karl Johan Gate. There are 2 bars and a Diskoteque across from the hotel and the noise, music and loud talk, is continuous to 3 AM - except on a Sunday night.

Cons: -The "river view" would have been better if there had been windows in the room. It was difficult to see through the wall that faced the river.
-No power outlets in room. This hotel assumes its customers do not carry cell phones and tablets that need recharging.
-It is challenging to hold a plate and eat breakfast while standing. The room was overcrowded and there were no seats available.
-The hand soap, shower gel and shampoo dispensers all appeared to contain the same liquid with a different color. No bars of soap. Bring your own soap and shampoo for the shower.
-No container for the ice cubes. Had to use the single wine glass in the room to hold the ice.
-No iron in the room; seems unlikely that travelers would pack their clothes in a suitcase...
-Modern business hotel? Falls far short of the mark.

Cons: There was a party until 02:00 hours which we could hear from our bedroom. The only way to the bedroom (room 277) was to walk past the foyer which had all the party guests. So it was a little strange to squeeze our way through the guests to get to the elevator to our bedroom. No complimentary bottles of water in bedroom. However we could get a drink from the foyer. No parking place offered at the hotel. Need to find one on the streets or park at the train station.

Cons: Breakfast is the Main attraction in this hotel. The hotel i all right, but do not meet the expectation. The bed was good, but the presentation was not inviting. Scandic- as seen earlier- is not interested in the details! A downlight in the entrance of the room, out of order was not files during our stay (4 nights). The lock in the sink was also out of order. The management is somewhat absentminded!

Cons: Parking told they had car parking under the hotel. But only on a first come first served bases. When I asked the reception desk she said you can park over the bridge. What she failed to mention there was the cheapest parking over the road in a multi story carpark less than 200 mtrs from the hotel Kr180 for 24 hrs. lucky I asked the local Avis rental guy who pointed it out. PS this guy also helped when I had trouble with the heated seat.

Cons: I have stayed at Royal Garden many times, and I normally have no complaints about this hotel. However, this time around there was a problem with information about the hotel's services. Other than a sign next to the check in desk (which you have to look for at a different wall), and the oral information received at check in (which was wrong - she told us the breakfast hours for the weekend and not for Friday morning), there is no information anymore about breakfast hours (as well as gym/sauna hours) in the hotel room, or online at the hotel's web site. My guess is that the old website contained this information to paper leaflets were removed from the hotel rooms, and then the new web pages fail to include this vital information. The same goes for the information about the location of gym and sauna. Hence, the hotel needs to include leaflets once again about this vital information in their rooms. One receptionist claimed that all this information could be found online, but despite a lot of searching, A&Q etc., I unfortunately could not find any of it online. Consequently, we missed breakfast the first morning, which was compensated by brining us some food to our room.

Cons: This is our fourth stay at the hotel. Please remember to ask for a room with privacy - there are some rooms that have a very unfortunate location of the bathroom. The bathroom door is a see through sliding door of glass. The doorknob is a whole. In some rooms the toilet is placed right behind the glass door, and the head of the bed is 30 cm from the door. The room we had now was facing inwards the lobby. So it was not possible to open the window to get fresh air. also it was quite hot, even if it was during the Christmas.

Cons: It was impossible to sleep in the room because it was 31 degrees hot. Basically all they should deliver is room where you can sleep - and they didn’t. We found our kid wandering out of the hotel in the middle ofcthe night due to the heat. Luckily he didn’t make it...

Cons: * No signal on TV * Not so clean as promised (Fingerprints och glass door to bathroom. And big dark marks on the walls) * 1 coffee for double room? * There's also a problem in their payment system. The link that was sent by sms required that your card is connected to an internet bank. Lucky me, the sweet ladies that works in Dronningens gt could let me pay in their reception. But there was never any information for this. And dragging around with all luggage wasn't the best start.

Cons: The bathroom shower was comically small. If you’re a large or plus size person beware that the shower is basically an upright coffin. It was easier for me to soap up with the shower door open.

Nothing in it - a very small old lift to fit in with suitcases etc. very basic standard of hotel. Not unclean but no frills.
