The thought that I was going to stay at a respectable establishment for my first visit to Norway.
That I got charged the first night for not staying during a Worldwide pandemic. That nobody contacted me before or after my reservation to enquire about the reservation from the hotel direct. That booking.com tried to contact the hotel and replied saying that they declined the request and provided me ‘contact details’ which was just their number. As if I or anybody wishes to call abroad at an extortionate price per min.
I liked the room, it was a double room with a private bathroom and a view on the street. The room was spacious and bright, with a private fridge, table for work and an additional resting chair. I liked the central location of the hotel, and on top of it, it was very calm and quiet. I appreciated the fact that the hotel has a shared, well equipeed kitchen that anyone can use.
On these booking days, I had 2 rooms in their hotel chain. When I came into the room in the evening I didn’t find my suitcase, an employee entered my room without knocking, without permission to enter, he just opened my room door himself the key and said that I should leave the hotel without explaining to me the reasons, and all my things the hotel staff collected in my absence and carried out of the room. To my question, show me where it is written in their hotel rules that they have the right to touch my personal belongings, they answered me that now we can’t do this, write a letter, we will answer you. When I wrote a letter to the hotel, they transferred all responsibility to me and did not answer anything. I was thrown out of the hotel in the middle of the night, the money was not returned to me. My personal boundaries have been violated. No response was received to my request. Also, my personal belongings disappeared from the suitcase, to my question where are my belongings, I was accused of someone coming to me, and maybe this someone took my things, but the thing was that there was access to the number only with me, I had one room key, and none were with me, I was alone.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
Room was a little dated but adequate.
Great location. Quiet and cozy hotel.
