Great location, pretty building.
Room on ground floor near street, noisy. Also bad smell because of carpet. On day 2 when we came into the room, some worker had gone in and left his stuff without informing us. Receptionist was nowhere to be found for 15 minutes, turned out she and the worker had been hiding somewhere doing who knows what!? Apologies offered “it was a miscommunication “, but no refund as would have been appropriate.
Very friendly staff; very good facilities (e.g. bathroom, little kitchen included!), I could decide from day to day if I would like to have breakfast at the hotel. Good quality and variety at the breakfast. Quiet room with view on the Vredenspalais. Tram stop only 100 m to walk. Great: Tea and Coffee for free all day.
My only suggestion, To avoid waste: at breakfast the butter could be offered e.g. on a plate and not in the little plastic things.
Spacious room, wonderful balcony with lovely view and little decorative details (raven statues enhancing the poetic atmosphere); comfortable bed and well-lit working space (desk). 24h-card key enabling around-the-clock access to the accommodation. Good location at a square surrounded by several options for food/drinks, 10 minute walk to the Peace Palace, well-connected to the Central Station (tram 16 stop about 1 minute walk away from hotel).
The lighting in the room made it a bit gloomy in the evenings (not strong enough?), requiring me to light up all lamps in the room (desk, bed, ceiling) in order not to fall asleep upon reaching home. Tough on the environmental conscience...
Great position in a cozy building. Bathroom was spacious. Room size was not great, but acceptable.
Absence of elevators, with tiny and dangerous stairs ... impossible for suitcases and possibly inaccessible for people who might have disabilities or walking difficulties. Room was extremely basic, no fringes whatsoever. The most uncomfortable mattress ever experience in my life, I left after a few days with a broken back and many sleepless nights. Many things very uncomfortable: few sockets, no socket in the bathroom or by the desk to plug in any device. Tiny room, ok for a trolley but impossible to keep a suitcase open. Not even a telephone in the room -should you need anything, you need to get out of the room and descend several storeys (day or night) if you are on the 2nd floor or higher. No fridge, not even a complimentary bottle of water. TV only Dutch channels and 2 all news intl. channels, no other choices. Breakfast has limited and mediocre choice and is always, always, always identical every single day. Better to have breakfast outside. It is definitely a poor value-for-money.
