Location and comfort of actual room
We were first allocated the studio apartment at the top and back of the buiolding. This faced student accommodation which even late afternoon was noisy. We were very quickly reallocated a ground floor room adjacent to the car park. The room was very nice indeed, however, some bumps in the night and the security guard (a very pleasant man) made his rounds which included the car park, which resulted in the security light going on and throwing light into the room on several occasions. To be e fair we discovered too late that there was a blackout blind, which may have helped. with the light situation.
This place is ideally situated
We however did not get the room we requested, bit disappointing especially traveling with a three year old and paying for something we did not get
Location was great. Reception staff was friendly and very helpful.
Although we booked breakfast and confirmed that it would be available from 07h00 onwards, the staff that was supposed to provide the breakfast did not arrive at the facility by 07h05 and we consequently had breakfast elsewhere in Dorpstreet - given that we were under time constraints (very frustrating)! Bathroom was small and poorly laid out.
The hotel was perfect and staff were super friendly and very helpful. Many of our arrangements were made ahead of time - it was wonderful. Thank you!
The staff were exceptional, going way beyond expectations, the young woman who welcomed us and assisted us throughout our stay was so helpful and friendly, showing initiative and an ability to read us and anticipate our needs and interests. The night duty manager was friendly and it was really reassuring having him there to welcome us back late at night after dinner. The woman cooking our delicious breakfast was efficient and cheerful too. All in all it was a great overnight stay. Comfortable room and bed and excellent insulation so that the room was silent and cosy on a cold winter’s evening. The communal kitchen would be really useful if you wanted to heat up milk for coffee, or even a ready meal. If we were to stay longer I would book a room with a seating area for maximum comfort.
