We enjoyed our one night stay here - this is a very old house but it's well maintained and is the venue for many outdoor weddings during the summer and smaller events inside during the winter. Our room was large, comfortable, and quiet. We were the only guests for a mid-week stay. The breakfast was granola, fruit, yogurt, juice, hard boiled eggs. There is a Kuerig so you can make coffee or tea any time. There is a little commercial district a block or so away with a nice pub and a couple of restaurants. There is plenty of street parking.
It was a nice stay.
I was hoping the fireplace was working.
Maggie was super nice and very helpful
Maggie the hostess was lovely.
The place was not furnished like 2 chairs and one couch in one room all the other main floor rooms were empty. There was netting over the books, apparently only to look inviting but don’t actually read. Not that you could sit there anyway. No ambiance like background music, kitchen was old and nasty in a bad 1980s broken kind of way.
Breakfast was really nice -- Maggie prepared cereal, yogurt, good muffins, hard boiled eggs, Keurig coffee for the communal table. She even got food for us early since we had to leave at 7:45 AM. Very much appreciated! Softest sheets ever! Loved being able to come and go as we pleased. The inn is literally 2 min walking distance to great local restaurants! We felt right at "home"!
Nothing we didn't like, but we have just a few suggestions.... - would have been nice to have a small table and 2 chairs for sitting in our room. We had to both sit on the bed for reading, visiting. Since there's no TV, having 2 chairs in the room would be really great. - one glass pane was opaque, so couldn't see out the window too well - would be great/welcoming to have more small seating areas in the main entry room and library - would suggest having some music playing downstairs during the day - again, would be welcoming, and would encourage people to linger downstairs, get to know other guests
