Good 6.7
Pros: Staff very helpful but forgot clean towels on one day
Cons: The fish was not cooked enough as parts were raw
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Good location —and excellent service
Cons: Mushrooms and fried bread especially of the full English would have been much improved if done in butter rather than oil.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean and tidy. Space used well
Cons: Can’t think of anything we didn’t like
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: Excellent place to stay. I liked everything about it. Only very, very small thing was car parking space which was tight but nothing I couldn't cope with.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Nice breakfast. Good location.
Cons: The window was open on arrival and there were lots of spiders and insects that had to be removed. Would be better if windows were closed before guests arrive. Thank you
Good 7.1
Pros: Good breakfast, staff friendly. Afternoon staff not especially familiar with points of interest-but wifi available. Fair value for cost. Nice sitting room first floor with pleasant patio. Walking distance to many restaurants. Would book again-if traveling alone
Cons: Thin walls-easily heard tv from other room-loud for heard of hearing guests til 10:30.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Spacious, beautiful, exceptionally clean. The shower and chrome work, were gleaming. Lots of attention to the finest detail and finishing touches. Very impressed! Lovely staff, fabulous breakfast.. they couldn’t do enough for you.
Cons: I liked everything
Good 7.9
Pros: The staff was great!
Cons: Wi-Fi
Excellent 10.0
Pros: While the decor of our room was somewhat minimalist, it was very comfortable and clearly had been thoughtfully planned; all our current travel necessities had been provided for! The bathroom was new, modern and very clean - a must for me - and, again, had all the amenities we needed! The two young woman who appeared to be managing the front desk & breakfast room were delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was nicely presented and delicious!
Cons: The parking yard and landscaping in front of the building could have used a little cleaning up. Also, when we first arrived we were greeted by a very large vehicle, which appeared to be a military vehicle and which gave us a bit of a shock at first.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Comfortable bed, clean room and convenient location.
Cons: Our room was right by the front door so had to put up with being awakened in the early hours by guests coming in. Also not soundproof and the people upstairs made a lot of noise moving around.

Pros: Older renovated hotel with parking close to but not in city center. Had old hotel charm with modern room updates.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Stayed after a visit to Peppa world. The restaurant and bar area were lovely. The menu was extensive and food delicious. Our room was very big and the facilities were fabulous, fridge, mini bar kettle and coffee maker. 1 night wasnt enough!
Cons: Breakfast didn't stsrt until 8am and we had to leave before then.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Nice bedroom, clean and comfortable Enjoyed the singer Saturday evening Ambience was lovely Not to far from ferry/cruise terminal

Cons: Breakfast was 1st Class best we have had in a b&b so well presented
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Breakfast was great, and location was good , pleasant walk into town.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great choice of breakfast, English freshly cooked and the continental option was also freshly prepared
Cons: No fault
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Super breakfast great choice, lovely staff nothing to much trouble only a 20 minute walk into the city
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Every thing else was 1st Class best ever breakfast so well presented
Cons: The Duvet was a bit weird it didn't have a proper cover & we got a bit tangled in it
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location lovely room and all the staff were very friendly
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.6
Pros: lovely staff especially the lady on the reception, she was so friendly and welcoming, lovely bar area, we had the deluxe room and was fabulous, great comfy bed, we had breakfast in the morning and was amazing all the food was lovely and hot and the poached eggs were excellent, I would definitely say if your in Southampton book this hotel magnificent.
Cons: nothing absolutely perfect.
Mediocre 3.3
Pros: Nothing
Cons: General smell in bedroom, probably the dirty pink carpet, which I put a towel on before I walked on. Décor in room was cheap and old fashioned (melamine cabinet, old fashioned flowery wall paper and no wardrobe – just a hanging rail.) Bathroom was cold and basic with a light over the mirror that didn’t work, and no mirror available in the bedroom, so I had to prop open the bathroom door to do my hair. Depressing awful room.

Pros: The location
Cons: Unorganised, not enough toiletries in the room. Asked for cot bed to be ready especially rang as was told it was done. Checked in and was told it was done went upstairs and no cotbed. Billed in correctly. Not enough bath towels
Good 6.0
Pros: The overall space is very good
Cons: A little bit clinical experience seems more geared up for a reps hotel
Okay 4.6
Pros: Your vip lounge is not good the food in the evening was below par,and your continental breakfast was a joke, i would never pay extra again for what you call vip,and the room was not a vip experiance, stains on the side of the bed and no cover over the bed frame, paint chipped all around the room, only three coat hangers between two of us. Overal not what i expected from a brand like the Hilton
Cons: The whole executive experiance
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly staff, plenty of parking, spacious room and good quality
Cons: Nil
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Modern bathroom was lovely

Cons: No beans with Breakfast
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lots of plugs and parking and the high ceiling and decorations
Cons: This hotel could easily gain more stars. I love Victorian and it was superb with a little bit of attention to gluing some wallpapers .
Okay 5.4
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Wallpaper peeling off the walls in the room, cracking electric socket and a shower that couldn’t be adjusted
Good 6.3
Pros: Comfy bed
Cons: We were in an ‘annex’ which meant that we had to go outside to get to our room. If it had been raining we would’ve got wet going to breakfast. So we were lucky with the weather. The room was cold.

Pros: Efficiently managed for after hours booking in, with key code and instructions sent by text. All spotless, and the breakfast for an extra £5 was good. Found places to eat 15 mins walk away.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly staff who gave good information on where to eat and pubs to go to
Cons: Nothing its was very good value and hopfully will return in the spring
Good 7.5
Pros: Able to come and go as pleased. Free parking and Wi-Fi

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff very friendly and would help with anything. Breakfast really good. Located close to centre of Southampton which is what we wanted. Room spacious and well equipped. Good value for money. In short one of the best B and B's I've ever stopped in.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff member who checked me in went above and beyond to help me. I was late arriving due to major traffic congestion (m27 was shut). I was going to the England v Kosovo football match and after trying to book a taxi(30 minutes plus waiting time). The lady drove me in her own car. Fantastic. Thank you so much.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, very close to the Train station. Room was good and had a fan, which is great for me.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Landguard B&B is located in a quiet street, walking distance to Southampton Central train station, and little bit more into the city centre. My room was generously spacious, well lit & immensely clean. Wifi was strong & un-disrupted. With breakfast included the price is very reasonable. The owner obviously did not try to cash up on guests during the Southampton boat show week when all hotels double/triple the room prices. It is nice to come across an honest people like this. Already made another booking. Thank you.
Cons: I cannot fault anything. My stay was great.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Everything was ok, Breakfast was great.
Cons: Mattress was well worn, could do with replacing
Okay 4.6
Pros: Breakfast was ok
Cons: Small attic room, broken towel rail, very old and tired decor , sick has poor drainage. 4 different colour towels, that were too small for my 6ft 2 partner. Just bath towels not bath sheets. No staff around for assistance after we arrived. Pub at the end of the toad does not do good on a Monday. All in all very poor. Would not go again
Mediocre 3.3
Pros: Well its says there 4 star online but at the house theyvare 3star so dirty i wouldnt let a homeless person sleep there -3 stars
Cons: Everything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We where going to arrive late so they emailed and told us exactly what to do. The woman who own it was very very nice, she also made very nice breakfast
Cons: Nothing it was all great

Good 7.1
Pros: The reception staff were exceptionally helpful. The car parking (disabled especially) was inadequate and I had to park my elderly but expensive classic car by the bike racks having been to take a European friend out to dinner. The breakfast was rather basic, compared to our regular Holiday Inn experience. Glyn Holford. Upway. EX12 3LW
Cons: See above

Pros: Comfortable and functional
Cons: Dinner (pie) was bland but functional
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Room cleaning excellent bar staff is excellent

Cons: They charged an extra 50 pounds on arrival which was non-refundable, which I didn't know before I booked

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice, clean hotel. Free Wi-fi. Breakfast included. Convenient location. Friendly staff

Good 7.5
Cons: The restaurant area was dirty. The chairs were filthy and we weren’t happy to sit on them. Apart from that everything else was good.

Pros: Breakfast was lovely, staff were friendly. No bottled water but staff happily gave me some iced water to take to my room as I dont like drinking from bathroom tap.
Cons: Beds were quite small, no parking spaces had to leave the car at the side of the road 1st night. Would of liked bottled water from the vending machine, although bar staff did give me iced water to take to my room.

Good 7.9
Pros: Rooms had all you needed and had a good, comfortable bed. On arrival to breakfast we were greeted with a smile and seated very quickly. The hot drink order was efficiently taken but cups and saucers didn't arrive with it. There was a good selection of fruit, cereal, pastries and full English, however, some of the hot food was overcooked. The restaurant staff were very polite, accommodating and attentive to requests.
Cons: On phoning to see if we could check in earlier, I was informed that the hotel was very busy and that couldn't be accommodated. Which was fair enough but was also told that if we arrived later than 3pm (check in time) it would help them out and be appreciated. On arrival the reception staff were efficient, informative but were a bit impersonal.
Okay 4.6
Pros: Clean and friendly
Cons: Spa facilities poor. Kids allowed in sauna / steam underage! No staff monitoring. Poor. Bar in hotel poor service, breakfast cold. Service poor
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Situation, convenient for travel to the docks
Okay 5.0
Pros: The hotel was lovely with beautiful grounds
Cons: In the restaurant, we were treated differently to others who came in later, the waiting staff treated another like royalty and us like we didn’t belong, we didn’t get offered the specials and the fillet steak came out in a few small slices of meat which had been beaten with the hammer. The meat wasn’t tender even after that, when we complained to the waiter she replied with I’ll tell the kitchen and we didn’t get any reply from the kitchen. The milk in the room had gone off and when we asked he brought us more that had been gone off as well. A couple of the pillows were dirty and had a red crusty substance on them. We will not be recommending this to anyone, as the service was appalling.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful, the room was well presented, clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of options for breakfast
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like
Good 6.0
Pros: BREAKFAST , Poor, long wait for a table, ran out of food then long wait to be replenished. Mushrooms almost raw Basically could not cope with being full with a wedding party and the residents.
Cons: Sauna and Spa scruffy.
Good 7.9
Pros: Very friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely. Grounds lovely for a morning walk.
Cons: The signpost could have been cleared on which way the hotel was. Staff didn't tell us about the pool or gym facilities.
Good 6.7
Pros: Hotel is in a very nice location, staff were OK but could have been a little friendlier, spa club was good but several things out of order
Cons: Breakfast was very poor, serving staff were young and inexperienced with no one supervising them, buffet kept running out of food and we had to ask several times for items to be replenished
Okay 5.8
Pros: The location was beautiful and the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was a little small but well presented, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast was appalling. I understand the traffic light system, and we did go at the busiest time, however, this should be pre-empted by the management. The food kept running out, I asked for poached eggs, which I know it said 10-15 minute waiting time, but I gave up waiting after 25 minutes. There were no tongs provided for food handling in some areas such as the toast area so people are handling the food. The staff were over run and non attentive - you need to look at their efficiencies within the dining room itself. We sadly were unable to eat dinner in the restaurant so we had to sit in the hall to eat but the food was great. We ordered room service breakfast one morning, which we thought might be better, but very disappointed, one poached egg was provided when I clearly indicated 2 guests, no butter provided for the toast and of course it was luke warm. The plate warmers don't fit the plates either. The bar staff were also over burdened and ran out of stock. There were glasses piled high behind the bar because there were weddings/functions on as well, so maybe you need more staff or more warewash machines. The Terrace was not serviced, which is fair enough, but the glasses are not cleared either, they were still there the next day and in fact the second day after as well. There was also was broken glass on the terrace which was there for at least 3 days/2 nights, as we sat on the terrace every evening. I felt those who were there for a function/conference were better attended to than individuals.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful location, excellent facilities and the breakfast was second to none.
Cons: The phone in my room (304) didn't work. Which was a good thing as it prevented me ordering room service at 22:39 when I should have been asleep!

Good 6.3
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: Needs a good clean of the tables around the bar area and behind the bar. One person trying to host breakfast take breakfast orders and clear tables. Should be one host and a couple of staff to wait on and take orders as there are 2 breakfast rooms and it's busy. On check out staff should ask how your stay was then at least you could give them feedback.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Food was lovely. Bed was really comfortable. Reception and waiting staff were great.
Cons: The car park and building site weren't very pretty to look at from the window
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Hotel location was pleasant, and building low rise set back in landscaped grounds - easy access to/from car park - Immediate surrounds of farmland and perfectly thatched cottages - English rural heartland! Warm welcome, from front desk. Helpful assistance with directions to wedding reception in a different town. Decent room, easy to operate heating/air con, massive comfortable bed. Breakfast was fine with lovely variety of fresh choices for vegetarian as well as the traditional palette. Felt really restful and quiet lovely ambience.
Cons: Hotel not so easy to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, and without Sat Nav - but really pleased that we found it - Room felt quite far away from reception and on returning late and feeling quite tired, and ready to fall into bed, found that the swipe to our room was inactivated so had to traipse back to the front to get it sorted (quite quickly).
Okay 5.8
Pros: Good quality Gym, and large comfortable bedroom
Cons: Coming back after a long day out to find room not made up, no kettle in the room on arrival, and no information about the hotel available within the bedroom.
Okay 5.4
Pros: The location was lovely and I am sure the grounds were too but as the weather was abysmal we did not venture out to check. Breakfast was fine with a decent choice.
Cons: Sports bar did not have Bacardi and staff did not appear too bothered regarding this. Boring bar.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Staff, pure and simply amazingly friendly
Cons: Shouldn't complain but too many kids. Apart from that it was great
Good 7.5
Pros: Good parking
Cons: Long walk to room and hard to find room Bar facilities closed at 10, didn’t get asked if we wanted anything and we had just arrived.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Hotel room was very nice with really comfy beds. The pool was a big hit with my Grandson.
Cons: Restaurant food was very expensive but the breakfast was very good.
Excellent 9.5
Pros: the staff were very good in the spa as well as the dining room, the bedroom & bathroom were very clean. lots of room in the carpark. The gym is well kitted out and they have a dance studio which had I known I would have loved to pay and join in whatever they were doing the music was good for any cardio workout.
Cons: service at breakfast time was a little slow but I guess there is only so many staff and at busy times the shortage of staff shows, It was a shame the steam room was out of order and the Jacuzzi was filled in, that was disappointing, those two luxury items make a spa experience
Good 7.9
Pros: A good-sized room with a very comfortable bed.
Cons: The key-card failed to unlock our room on two of the three nights we stayed, necessitating a walk through miles of corridors back to reception. Items presented on the menu were not available and those we could have were extremely expensive (like £16 for a chicken caesar salad!)
Good 7.1
Pros: Hotel very nice. Food.Lunch in the sports bar excellent as was breakfast. The meal at night for the Fun at the Fair party night was served nice and hot. Quality of food was acceptable for the numbers being served.
Cons: Staff weren't very well informed....nobody seemed to communicate with each other on the smallest details, for instance I tried to pay for a breakfast before my spa treatment and was asked to queue at the restaurant - after a ten minute wait I was then directed back to reception where they then said they couldn't take payment....I was losing the will to live at this point...and time was running out so I went without. Spa....facial....amazing .

Good 7.1
Pros: Location was great, right near centre. Bed was comfy. TV worked. Parking available nearby. Lady who served breakfast was very friendly.
Cons: Room was very small - no14. Top of building. En suite was tiny. Sink very small. Shower was awful. Dangerously hot, then cold. Hard to shower, pressure not good. Breakfast was not great. Went at 8.30 near end so would seem that food had been sat around and was overcooked which was a shame. Area ok but as the place was not manned, felt a little insecure especially as I was with my young daughter. Parking was available but charged which I was not expecting from what I thought I had read.
Excellent 10.0

Cons: nothing
Good 7.9
Pros: Comfortable beds and room. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Close to shops.
Cons: Room on ground floor next to main entrance so frequent disturbance as other guests were entering and leaving, plus noise from passers-by.

Good 7.5
Pros: Location was good with nearby restaurants...
Cons: Room was small..
Excellent 9.2
Pros: the room was comfy and quiet. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. I was handy for all we wanted in Southampton.
Cons: I like the car parking, but the draconian threats of £100 fine for an incorrectly entered numberplate don't really inspire me to go back.
Good 6.3
Pros: Friendly reception staff Comfortable beds Good location for uni visit
Cons: Room was small. Creaky floors from room above throughout the night so got little sleep. Shower had barely any water pressure so difficult to wash hair under.
Excellent 9.0
Cons: Low Beams in room
Good 7.9
Pros: Coffee machine, like the buffet style and staff were friendly
Cons: Food was a bit overcooked
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Overall the hotel was very good with excellent service. Good value.
Cons: The shower was a little cramped and stairs would be difficult for older people
Good 6.0
Pros: Location
Cons: It was all a bit basic. I would have expected better for the price
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We did not try the breakfast but the friendly helpful staff both reception and cleaning was wonderful. Made us feel comfortable. We loved the Air Con made a big difference to our room and stay. Felt very comfortable about my dogs being able to stay.
Cons: The only thing for me that I was not happy with was perhaps the location. The hardest thing to find was somewhere close by to walk the dogs first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We did find the common but it was rather a long way to walk each time to exercise the dogs.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Location to the university
Cons: Very tired furnishings- particularly the bathroom. Desperately needs updating
Good 7.9
Pros: Nice comfortable room , ...the shower in room 104 was amazing !! Plus the lovely reception guy upgraded me to a double room I was exhausted so that was so lovely of him ...
Cons: Felt the room could have done with airing ...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Room was a good size and very comfortable.

Okay 4.6
Pros: The room was ok for one night
Cons: The menu very basic and food not good Service very poor
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Good convenient location for motorway. Room nice, comfortable and quiet. Clean and modern bathroom.
Good 7.5
Pros: We had read mixed reviews of the hotel but were impressed by all areas. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable, the staff were friendly and there was plenty of choice of breakfast. We also used the gym which was open 24/7.
Cons: We would have liked a rack for bath towels over the bath. As there was nowhere to dry them, we had to get them changed every day which we avoid doing if we can. There is room for improvement at breakfast - tables were not cleared quickly and pastries were often dry.
Good 6.3
Pros: Great location spacious hotel friendly staff
Cons: Beds were extremely uncomfortable busy schedule and didn't get sufficient rest due to bad nights sleep
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Breakfast good. Staff very good. A bit further from St. Mary's Stadium than we would have liked.
Cons: Workmen were noisey outside Room 202 from 7.30am.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly receptionist and nice hotel.
Cons: Everything was fine.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly. Everything we needed was already in our room. Breakfast choices were excellent . Lovely location.
Cons: Bed was firmer than used to otherwise sorry nothing else bad to say
Good 7.0
Pros: Location.
Cons: The bed was the worst bed I have slept in anywhere around the world. It was uncomfortable & creaked every time you moved.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Courtesy is the main stay of this hotel from front desk to the restaurants. My wife’s brother was sick in the hospital and he passed away. It was a difficult time for us and staying at this place was comforting.
