Cons: If anything: ability to swim in the sea at low tide was limited + some jelly fish came up during our last 2 days. That being said, nothing that the hotel own salt lagoon pool wasn’t able to balance.

Cons: - rather big pillows (can not be comfortable for everyone), - sometimes after room cleaning I could find some carpet piles on the floor, - AC in the room may produce some noise (in the night we thus did not use it), - can not recommend for those who like it swimming in the sea (shallow and full of seaweed due to tides).

Cons: Too many rules in the hotel you cannot smoke on your balcony, on the beach or pool and most of the areas in the hotel even open areas, men cannot wear sleeveless top, you will find in your room a list stating if you stained or damage the furniture or the robes, etc... you will be charged The hotel parking is NOT free they charged us per hour. It felt like a school rather than a hotel The hotel is huge we get lost all the time you feel you are in an empty city. you cannot swim on the beach but this in all nusa dua area. Basicly I didn't feel comfortable you miss the Balinese warmth and generosity that I found in the other 4 hotels we stayed in during our trip

Cons: Not much not to like. If you are a smoker beware that this is a hotel which doesn’t cater fondly for smokers as they make you smoke in a limited amount of smoking areas on-site. I had to go from my room to the lobby to smoke or else down by the pool area. They could have had access to Netflix on the tv but not a big deal. It was a smart tv also.

Cons: When I checked in the duvet smells like it didn’t dry up properly. I asked to change it and they said that it’s normal, but when they changed it the next day it smells nothing like the one they are saying it’s normal. Then the sink has small particles like someone puked on it and the staff didn’t clean it thoroughly. Yuck. My partner has to clean it for them.

Everywhere you look the gardens and vistas are beautiful. The bed are big and comfortable and the rooms have everything you need. You can eat breakfast on the beach, on your balcony or in one of the other restaurants. When we went it was easy to get a lounger either on the beach or by one of the lagoons that are integral to the hotel. Everything is available till late - pool table, swimming or tennis although they cover the table tennis table at 6pm. The staff are friendly and willing to talk and make every effort to make you feel welcome.

So clean as well. The pool gets cleaned all the time which it needs to because there are so many trees and greenery surrounding it that all the leaves and flowers fall in. It looks amazing. Waterfalls. The lights. The decorations. The statues. Everything. The pathways. The staff are always so polite and don’t walk past you without acknowledging you. Its so lovely. A true smile on their face. Not a fake one. Lovely and helpful staff. The room was amaZing. Check in and check out easy. Anything we needed we had. The bathroom amazing with the bath that was so different not your typical shape. Everything so clean even the outside sun loungers. There was activities in the hotel everyday. The beach was right there. And so clean and white. The room was cleaned i think even twice a day. The hotel is big and its not too overcrowded. It had ping pong and billiards. Quiet seating areas. And a lovely business centre. A little shop. And like 3 restaurants. A fire show. A separate bar. The welcome drink was great. And the lobby is big and beautiful. They allowed us to stay and have a later check out and use the shower facilities as we didnt have the room anymore.

Cons: Concierge had limited contacts/knowledge of activities in the area, particularly dive companies to contact for bookings. Expensive compared to the rest of the island. Restaurants overpriced, especially the drinks. Beach is nice but they allow people to come up to you and try to sell you trinkets, which is fine but many of them are very persistent/pushy and it isn't conducive to a relaxing beach experience. There was construction going on when we were there (March 2015), and the noise detracted from our spa experience.

Pros: The location is beautiful and the lagoons on the property are wonderful for swimming even if you aren't a strong swimmer because they are not deep but warm salt water. When we went it was easy to get a lounger either on the beach or by one of the lagoons that are integral to the hotel. Everything is available till late - pool table, swimming or tennis although they cover the table tennis table at 6pm. The staff are friendly and willing to talk and make every effort to make you feel welcome.
Cons: When we arrived (at 1am) our rooms with access to the lagoon were not available so they put us up in a studio room. The room itself was lovely and if you don't want direct access (which turned out to be fairly unnecessary, although it was nice) I'd certainly recommend them because the are very large and comfortable, with a separately shower. However, we'd just travelled 19 hours on the plane and I really just wanted to fall into bed and get on with my holiday the next morning, not faff around changing rooms the next day. As compensation they gave us a voucher for the Banyubiru restaurant. It's a buffet style place and we ate there the next night. It totally put us off eating at the restaurants. The food was cold (when it was meant to be hot) confused and pretty awful. In trying to be international - there were 'European' dishes, Japanese sushi, Indian curry, Balinese dishes - none of it really worked. So not a good start. The other thing to bear in mind is that Nusa Dua is all hotels (they cleared the beach line to build them) and to get anywhere you have to be prepared to travel at least a couple of hours. If you're prepared to do that then there are great things to do and see, but if you stay in the hotel all the time, despite it's beauty, you might as well be anywhere with golden sands and palm trees.

Cons: The hotel is in the middle of numerous big chain hotels as well as next to a very busy international conference centre. The vibe of the area was very corporate and business orientated rather than a relaxing holiday vibe. There were numerous corporate events in our hotel and neighbouring hotel with many people wearing business attire and landyards, detracting from the holiday atmosphere. It also meant we could not eat in our beach front restaurant as it was fully booked by a corporate event. There are no other options for dining other than those of the large chain hotels nearby, and no authentic Balinese restaurants. The area is very western and the prices reflect that. We paid more for drinks here than in expensive bars in central London. Whilst very beautiful and clean, it does not feel like you are Bali, it is so far removed from the culture of the country it almost feels like you could be in any beach resort in Europe.

Cons: The toilet in by the pools was nice but the toilet cubicles themselves need fixing as it was overflowing. And the floor was all wet. It also smelt because of this. There was once a time that a member of staff that just came into our room. Only on one occasion. But we were 2 women that could have been undressing and it is not acceptable for someone to just come into the room after knocking only once. It was a male number of staff as-well. Which is obviously quite unsettling. They need to make sure there is no-one inside because people may be sleeping too. And only one other small complaint. That when ordering a pizza by the pool. He asked straight after bringing the pizza if we he could bring the bill. We said after eating we will pay. While we were mid-eating he brought us the bill which was quite rude. As it wasn’t like we were going to run off as we hadn’t even finished the pizza and had slices in our hands. It is rude to interrupt us eating and make us stop eating to get payment especially when we asked to pay the bill when we finished eating. I’d like to comment on my utter disbelief at the number of entitled people who took 4 beach chairs for 2 people a day. They did this so they could move their lazy bodies from the shade to the sun as desired!! It amazed me the sheer selfishness! It meant that other patrons had no sun chairs! There were signs asking that you not do this and noting towels would be removed after an hour. These people had it down to a craft of sheer self indulgence. Shame on you!!

Cons: This hotel just doesn’t deserve 9.1 on booking score, it is more like 8.4 - 8.6. Overall atmosphere is not like a 5 star resort. Breakfast is good, but crowded and staff is quite confused and not trained properly. Some pool and beach beds have to be booked in advance and paid for, which seems redundant for someone staying in what is claimed to be ‘a luxury’ resort, it’s not so much about paying it, but it doesn’t leave a good and comfortable feeling for all the guests. Sun beds on the beach are too close together. Beach is not really swimmable, but this is not hotels fault of course - it’s just something to bear in mind when choosing Nusa Dua. Hallways are outdated, room is ok but smell from the bathroom (shower) is unbearable, I know this is a bit of a problem at Bali but for a hotel claiming to be on the higher end is quite disappointing. Facilities and service is outdated too, they provide you services, but nothing that really matters or that is useful for young couple. Worst stay in Bali, would not reccommend it. We regret it, as we could have chosen cheaper hotel for same or probably much better experience. Spa facilities very expensive, higher prices than in other nore expensive and better hotels.

At one restaurant they had allergens marked but at least three items which had gluten (confirmed with the chef) were not marked as such. At breakfast, no cereal or bread had gluten marked as being present but I am pretty sure most / all had gluten. You have to take responsibility for yourself. If you are not sure you must ask and they are only too willing to help.

Eventually just took over the table and pool chairs. Could use a bigger mini bar fridge in the room :)

Cons: The check in was a headache. Rooms not ready and our booking stuffed up. It took till 6.00pm to finally check in even though we arrived before 2.00pm. We were then told we we be upgraded but we go the same rooms we had booked. We had 4 seperate rooms booked and each one was not ready. Seperate happy hours times and different food menus between the pool areas and you couldn’t order from one menu and get it delivered to you. All the staff smiled a lot but when you asked them something nothing actually happened. Checkout was even worse with our bills being confused between the 4 rooms.

Cons: The part of Nusa Dua, where the hotel is located, looks and feels like a town that is only developed for touristy needs. The hotel itself, although a five star resort, feels like beeing part of the mass-tourism- there are a few hotel-restaurants and everything you could need to stay your whole prebooked holiday inside this complex. For us it did not feel like a luxury holiday seeing people drink liters of alcohol in the pool by the beach or others spitting in the poolwater the whole time or not to be able to get a sunlounger and umbrella when you are not willing to get up at 8 to reserve your poolbeds. The deluxe room faced a muddy backyard, the floor had staines from a waterdamage, the bathroom looked like in the 80ies with torn showercurtain, stained bathtube and mouldy tiles-joints. There are 2 pools, which is nice, but the main pool also had his best times...there are mouldy tiles-joints, loose handrails and tiles It was no exclusive stay with personal touch as we had been looking for...for the amount of money spent there, you are really able to get some highly exclusive resorts in other locations.

Pros: We were in Bali for a month. In five different hotels, all five stars.Melia was unfortunately the worst. The resort itself is nice, the garden is beautiful and well maintained. This is not a hotel where you can feel like in Bali,because it is in probably the most touristic part of the island. As for the hotel itself is a drama. Rooms very old, bad smell from the air conditioning, bathrooms that were probably made in the eighties. Ceiling so low that I had to take shower almost on my knees, I am 192 cm. Wooden elements such as doors, floor, damaged. For all the hotels we saw in Bali, and all were five stars, this one should have a maximum of four stars. Last thing, prices .... We didn't had such high prices even in private villas or any other five-star hotels in Bali. We were there at the end of our honeymoon, four days, and we were glad we had one more hotel before leaving. The hotel is generally fine, the rooms need a general renovation, and the hotel itself is good for families with children or seniors. People who want to spend a week or two in an all inclusive hotel. Without going out from the hotel. If You decide to stay at this hotel, take all inclusive because without it You will spend a fortune, the all inclusive isnt cheap by the way. In our case the price for two was higher then the price of the room, per night. We didnt buy it because we didnt spend much time in the hotel, we rent a scooter and we where discovering all the nice places out side Nusa Dua. Sunbeds, almost impossible to get one If You come after breakfast. People put towels early in the morning and dont even use them. Most of the five stars hotel that I know , dont allow that. And the last thing. We couldn’t enter our room two times, because they were fixing something, I think there was something wrong with the smoke detector. Things like that schould be done when the guests check out and the room is empty.

Pros: Much more pleasant than expected. Worried a bit about the facilities because it was built quite long time ago, but renovated and very nice. Friendly staff, nice view, pleasant rooms, and the breakfast was great. The wifi was great too. The pool and beach were great, and very close to the spot where we could enjoy activities such as parasailing and jet skiing.

We stayed in club room and was greeted warmly by staff each day , the lovely breakfast , afternoon tea and evening cocktails were torrent and . Staff amazing , plenty of lovely pools and beach . Great spa - 3 restaurants with Rajas being the best 29 min walk to either up market shops or local markets .

Pros: The hotel is very beautiful in traditional Bali style. The main gate is awesome! The resort is rather big with many restaurants, swimming pools. The staff is very polite,kind and helpful. They have a photographer there and you can have a photoset and get one photo for free. They have a nice swimming pool with warm water and a pool bar, a swimming pool for kids, it's very important as in the afternoon it's impossible to swim in the ocean because the low tide. Breakfast is delicious. You can find everything you want there.

Cons: We didn’t eat or drink at the hotel as prices were expensive and an additional 21% tax on every item made it more so. We enjoyed the local cuisine in Nusa dua with all places offering pick up and drop off service.

Cons: Check in and quality of the drinks. Many local copies of famous brands of drinks are at the bars, and not always informed not being served the original brand of the drink, but price charged is the same as an original brand. Not easy to book a reasonable priced taxi.Basically the average tourist is being unfairly exploited.

Cons: The balcony in the room wasn't clean enough. There was rubbish there: empty paper cups, cigarette butts. This hotel requires a deposit. We didn't know about that but it wasn't a problem. But the staff didn't tell us in advance that it would take about two weeks to get our deposit back.

I had the Premier room including shower and bath. The best comfortable bed. They have free shutle bus to beach and back and to bali collection and back, which is the area with a lots of restaurant and shops whith clothes and art products. Definitelly recommend!

Cons: The distance to the beach, although transportation is offered. We prefer to walk, which was fairly long in the Balinese sun. The breakfast - limited coffee options for a 5 star hotel (black coffee or tea) and sitting inside.
