Really nicely restored building and convenient location with lively interesting neighbourhood. Breakfast had limited options but good quality and the service was first class.
Although pleasant, the rooms are very small with not much natural light (limited by old architecture). Hotel feels more like a good 3 star hotel rather than 4 star in terms of amenities. Particularly annoying were the water heaters that needed to be switched on before having a shower. Staff were friendly but not especially welcoming or helpful. The lady running the evening dinner service on our first evening was just rude (very busy).
The bed is beautiful and exactly what we need for a good staycay. Neither too soft nor firm. Staying inside one of the most historic site in Singapore, is satisfying and unique. Definitely not like any typical hotels. Love the free minibar.
I would love to have a bidet attached to the toilet. The shower area is a little too cramp but it's still doable.
Noisy. Sound Insulation poor. Noise from outside, noise from corridor into room.
Location was good.
Not family friendly. Should be stated from start. A plastic cot was brought to us, no matress hard metal base, housekeeping was closed to we got our baby to sleep on bed and I slept on floor partially. Rooms too small for children and breakfast was very limited to handful of items.
Great location in Kampong Glam - close to many restaurants and bars. Hotel is a beautifully converted historic building. Rooms are well-appointed with an excellent shower with decent water pressure (a rarity in Singapore). Most accommodation is on the ground floor which comprises a series of interlinked historic buildings. Some buildings also have accommodation on the first floor but in-between is a large roof terrace with gazebos dotted around with tables and chairs, ceiling fans and power. This was a fantastic place to work outside in the fresh air, but in the shade, in-between office appointments.
Breakfast was quite basic with limited choice, but beautifully prepared. Many alternatives around the hotel for breakfast.
