7.1 Good
Pros: For the cost of the stay the service was not of a suitably high standard. Emails and instructions prior to arrival were ignored or not actioned appropriately. It’s a lovely building with great views but next time I’d stay elsewhere and get the same (or better) service and slightly smaller room for a fraction of the price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very close to the Sendai train station so great for explorations and day trips (e.g. Nikka distillery). The room was comfy (bed / mattress not firm) and had an amazing view over the city. The staff was super friendly and helpful / knowledgeable answering some questions upfront. We did not have breakfast so I cannot comment on that.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Grand and Western style hotel. Very nice grounds, park and lobby. Room is big, we had a nice garden view. staff is very helpful. Indoor parking.
Cons: Location is a bit out of the way without the car; breakfast is not up to the standard of the hotel. Overall great hotel!
6.3 Good
Pros: We were given a very large and comfortable suite although other rooms, well appointed as they are, looked pretty small...
Cons: This hotel, heavily geared to the wedding market, is almost an hour away from Sendai station and the covered market and all the shops and restaurants. There is a rather infrequent shuttle service and beyond that only (expensive) taxi or ride-hailing rides like uber. The large adjacent shopping centre is nothing special really... Services in the hotel are fairly limited and the feeling we got is that its almost exclusively aimed at one-night wedding guests and visiting sports teams. Also, those expecting a western-style breakfast or indeed hotel bar will probably be better served elsewhere.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the view and the location
Cons: A little pricey
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. We had a lovely view of the garden. The outlet shopping centre was right next door with many shops, a small supermarket and a very good bakery. The restaurants there were OK.
Cons: It was quite isolated. The shuttle bus only went into Sendai a few times a day and it took up to an hour. Best with a car.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Staff was great, clean but a little dated
Cons: THE MATTRESS, honestly was the only negative !
10.0 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere and it was my first traditional Japanese Inn. The staff has good understanding of English and are happy to try to communicate in different languages, it was a great experience.
Cons: The walls to the rooms are a bit thin so noise from outside could be a problem, but most people didn't bother during bedtime.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were extremely welcoming, friendly and hospitable and it was a pleasure to stay at Chitoseya Ryokan. The Ryokan is very comfortable and extremely clean; three of us friends shared a room and we had no issues at all. We were welcomed with tea and rice cakes in our room which was a lovely touch. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and we would highly recommend it! The showers are great and I also took a hot bath which was a perfect end to the night :)

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very small but, surprisingly, everything what was needed was there, incluing the fridge, electric kettle, small table with wired internet connection. The bed was very comfortable and the AC was working quietly. The bathroom was quite large, including both the shower and the bathtub.
Cons: No wardrobe nor even a single drawer, so I had to keep all my cloths in the suitcase all the time. The breakfast room was not big enough and one had to wait for a free place sometimes. Some more European style dishes for breakfast would also be great...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Washroom was quite spacious, with separate area by dry/wet functions. Bed was comfortable too.
Cons: Reception was too busy in rush hour, need to wait in queue for check in/out which is not efficient in Japan.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very new and clean. Bathroom is nice and much bigger comparing to Japanese hotels of this standard. Although it compensates with a little smaller room but overall is very satisfactory.
Cons: Noise from street was quite loud as we couldn't sleep with window opened.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance from station. Fairly new hotel, clean and room is comfortably large. I like the bathroom setup. Besides tub there is a open space for shower like Onsen. You can sit and wash. Breakfast is very extensive especially Japanese varieties. Bed and pillows are very comfy.

7.1 Good
Pros: Met some nice staffs!
Cons: I'm traveling Japan without internet, the only place I can plan my next move is where I stayed. Unfortunately, I can't get any signal from my room. And the GH need to make some improvements because everything is falling apart. It's shame, because the guesthouse have great potential!
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were very helpful on check in and gave us recommendations for dinner venues. Hostel very clean and tidy.
Cons: Shower and toilet facilities fairly basic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome staff, super helpful! Gave me recommendations on local stuff to check out, and messaged me when I left a shirt behind. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, warm atmosphere, highly recommended!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The shower pressure was great. There were several restrooms. Theres a code to the front door if you're planning to stay out late. (Kokubuncho is literally down the street, which is pretty much night life central.) The convenience store is at the corner of the street and there are vending machines for drinks right next to the guest house. It isn't too far to the closest subway. Most of the things you would want to check out in Sendai are very accessible from this hostel.
Cons: There wasn't really an area to put your luggage. No lockers but you can have a small security box to use, though I believe you need to bring your own lock. The kitchen and lounge area are kind of tight.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the staff has a great taste for food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There's a girl working there who is really sweet. You could talk to all the hosts with no problems. I'd recommend this place to others.

Pros: The bath was really nice! Definitely the selling point for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean rooms and common areas of the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast start time is flexible and excellent value - really enjoyed it. Also enjoyed the matcha experience offered.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It’s a beautiful classic ryokan with a lovely and caring staff. Room was spacious and the ryokan was very quiet.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the comfort of the room and the classy atmosphere of this Ryokan. Everything in my room and also the communal bathroom was very clean, staff made sure to clean around all the time. I could sleep very well on the futon and enjoyed a lot the green tea which was offered in the room as a complimentary offering. What stood out the most, was surely the breakfast. Breakfast was superb and traditionally Japanese. The onsen was very relaxing. Staff was friendly and very pampering, even though we couldn't have a conversation. Location is alright, but could have been a bit closer to the metro station. Nevertheless, you can easily reach the main nighttime/restaurant area after 15-20 minutes walking and it seemed quite alright.
Cons: Staff could not speak any English, but was very kind and accomodating, trying to make sure I get everything well by giving me English information they have printed out and laminated for foreign guests. Everything worked well, but it would have been great to communicate more! The onsen working times could have probably been a bit longer, but it was alright.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the onsen! And helpful staff providing an extra underlay for the futon.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice and helpful Staff. Room was quiet big and the breakfast really good.

Pros: You can see the hotel building right after exiting JR East exit and ride escalator down to the street level to walk across the street to get there in a few minutes. Many stores in JR station and around the hotel.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cozy/comfortable facilities, convenient location to reach great restaurants and scenes.
Cons: It’d be perfect if the front desk could provide more considerate service such as traffic suggestion amid typhoon impact.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had to leave another hotel due to the sad state of it, and so I was thrilled with how beautiful and comfortable the Mitsui Gardens Hotel was. And it has an Onsen bath on the top floor, so I was very happy with that!
Cons: I was only there for one very short night, so I couldn’t really find any faults.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, immaculately clean, convenient location for town.
Cons: Pillows were not the most comfortable and a little noisy at night as we were overlooking a busy road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great sized rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Only a 10 minute walk to Sendai Station. The onsen was also great!
Cons: Nothing.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Cons: Though the hot spring place was amazing, the room I stayed wasn’t very clean, there were spider webs at the corner of our room and the ceiling of the hot spring place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The baths are all top class, and the small rotenburo down close to the river is simply wonderful, close enough to feel surrounded by the sounds of the waterfalls and the local frogs while watching the water. And a very satisfying oil massage afterwards. 2 nights, both dinners superb, and although I've lived in Japan for 36 years the chef still surprised me with some new menu items that I've never experienced before!
Cons: The breakfast room atmosphere is a disappointment! No problem at all with the buffet breakfast, but the dining space is depressingly dark; the windows and wall panels on the window side were not open, and the guests were not allowed (so it seemed) to use those window-side tables. And inside that closed-off space the lighting was just not bright enough. It's MORNING, okay? So a bright, light cheerful space should be there for us to wake up in. Open it up, and turn up the lights!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is the best for everything.
Cons: Nothing much activity can do in Akiu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff who helped check us in and orient us to our room was exceptional. He spoke fluent English so was able to explain everything to us with extra care and detail, including showing us how to properly tie our sachiko. He really was terrific! I regret that we weren't able to say goodbye to him the next day. Also, the buffet breakfast was a highlight from the entire Japan trip. I would definitely recommend treating yourself to this once in a lifetime experience.

Cons: The bed was too small and too soft. One side was up against the wall so access was hard
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The position was fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect central location, comfortable, clean rooms. The complimentary cellphone with unlimited internet was quite handy. The 24h self-service bar with soft drinks and ice-cream in the hall was quite nice.
Cons: The breakfast is included in the room charge but is quite small and a bit disappointing. I am not sure if it's they're fault or a Japanese policy, but the fact that you have to get into a room to smoke instead of a terrace is pretty annoying.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the station and the shop, the room I live in is big, and the sleeping pillow is very comfortable.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a few minutes walk from Sendai Station west exit and located in a good area for restaurants and shopping made it an ideal travellers hotel for us. Although English was very limited the staff were super helpful. The “free” breakfast was also very good and better than many paid breakfasts in other hotels. The restaurant in the basement of the hotel is also very good. Recommended booking a table as it is often full up in the evenings.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: -Free afternoon tea -The best location -Nice staff -Clean
Cons: -Breakfast is too simple, western style. The hotel provide bread and milk. We expected japanese food, that why we come to japan. -wifi speed is very slow -Double room is too small for 2 people(15sqm), too expensive for this price.

The room was comfy (bed / mattress not firm) and had an amazing view over the city. The staff was super friendly and helpful / knowledgeable answering some questions upfront. We did not have breakfast so I cannot comment on that.

Pros: Compared to other Westin hotels around Japan, the Sendai Hotel is very very cheap while it keeps the same level of luxury.
