9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had a hot spring bath which I really enjoyed!
Cons: They required full payment at check in before seeing the room. This is awkward/ uncomfortable when you arrive exhausted as I did.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room and bathroom were immaculate. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Excellent Onsen. Would definitely stay again including other Hokke group hotels in Japan!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and easy to access.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the station (7min walk) and having a bath in the bathroom was great. The bed was very comfortable and it was great to have two pillows which so far has been a rarity on my travels across Japan. Breakfast was also excellent and fun to try traditional and local Japanese dishes, amongst some western staples.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Onsen is very nice.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities are very functional and the breakfast is delicious. Time for check-in and check-out is very generous in comparison with other Japanese hotels.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Almont Hotel Sendai is near the JR Sendai station within 5 min. walk. Easy to find restaurants, department stores, shopping area nearby, and also famous chain store MUJI, LOFT, and TSUTAYA in the neighborhood. There are public baths in Almont only for the Check-In guests, female's on 2F; male's on 4F. They provide free Nestle espresso (Nespresso) and bottle water daily, and Sharp humidifier in the room. There's also a small bar table which is very helpful for guest has plenty of stuff. Special thanks to 向田さん for preparing my room, it was wonderfully neat and tidy. I was staying at no.1102, the room is spacious, and with well-designed lighting. I enjoyed my stay very very much.

Hotel Vista Sendai - Sendai
2
8.8 Excellent (6,193 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Vista Sendai, you'll be centrally located in Sendai, within a 5-minute drive of Tohoku University and Sendai International Center. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is near JR Sendai exit EAST.
Cons: The hotel didn't offer bottle water.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Vista is a very nice hotel in a convenient location. I always stay on the west side of Sendai Station, but I thought I'd try the east side for a change. It's quieter on the east side with easy access to the subway lines and JR lines which are minutes away.
Cons: On my last day before check-out, I got a note that the cleaning staff must enter my room to clean up. I really wish I had a choice of not being disturbed at all during my stay. I was checking out, so I didn't make a fuss. I have my reasons for not being disturbed--one being that I have expensive medical equipment (i.e., CPAP) that should not be touched or moved. Also, because there's really no drawers (as is common in USA hotels) in the room, I literally live out of my suitcase--so preparing for the cleaning crew would be a major inconvenience. At least most hotels now give guests the choice of whether to have their rooms cleaned or not, day by day, or not al all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This felt like a nice hotel. The facilities were new and it looked like it was designed by the same person who outfitted the Hotel Gracery in Shinjuku (the Godzilla hotel). The neighborhood was fairly quiet and close to the station, though it is on the opposite side of the train station from most of what I wanted to see. The other big hotels seemed to be on the other (west) side as well. There was a public bath on the second floor and laundry facilities (three washers and dryers). The staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: I think most of my issues were with my unfamiliarity with Sendai, not with problems with the hotel. Oh, and also with the weather, but what can the hotel do about that?
7.9 Good
Cons: Wifi speed was slow.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing rooms, amazing baths and good location
Cons: You could see s lot of dust under the bed (I dropped a sock under there on accident)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - comfy beds, friendly staff, lovely sento - was fabulous.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is only 2 blocks from the Sendai train station and around the block from the subway entrance. They have a public (common) bath located on the 2nd floor. They also have coin op washer and dryer which is a must for travelers. At checkout they stored my luggage until it was time for my train departure.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location n big rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location, 5 min walk from the JR Sendai station. Plenty of eating options within a few blocks, would not hesitate to stay again if in the area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right next to station and shopping centre with a wonderful view down a Main Street from our room to enjoy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Easy access to everything, transportation, shopping, dining and sightseeing. Very clean and nice set up for bathroom.
Cons: Long wait for elevator. Not enough for the size of hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful room, especially the bathroom. Excellent location given you can see the station from your window. Polite staff, well spoken english.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location with good facilities.
Cons: PJ quite small for plus size people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved that we could walk directly in to the hotel from the station, and the room and the amenities were beautiful. We had a brilliant view.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean and fantastic bathroom
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is spot on, easy to access everything and right at the train station. Sound proofing is good, coffee machine food and quality is good.
Cons: Both my partner and I kept coughing and sneezing when moving the duvet in bed.. when getting in or out of bed, or moving the blankets, we’d start sneezing, or getting watery eyes, coughing etc. I think the room must be very dusty, because I seen the desk top was dusty in the morning when we work up. If it’s not dust, then perhaps something hazardous... could be due to the recent opening... construction dust or something?
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room perfectly good, nice view on Sendai, staff generally friendly We mistook the hotel with the one close by without "East" in the name and the staff offered to transport our luggage to the right hotel!
Cons: Reception tried convincing me to get an upgraded and pay more
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, neat and comfortable.
Cons: A little expensive
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is just right above the Sendai Station. We were mistaken between 2 hotels - Metropolitan and Metropolitan Sendai East which one is next to the East exit while the other one is adjacent to the platform. Staff were so helpful, trying to explain how to get to the one that we booked in the station but we couldn't understand what they explained so they just walked us to the hotel instead which was a few steps from the platform. I have asked for the train view, unfortunately the staff gave us the room above the station so didn't see much of the tracks but we just let it go because only 1 night stay. The amenities in the shower room was a surprised - very thoughtful. The internet TV was a nostalgia sooth. We manage to watch our local TV online at the end. In case you worries about the noise - we didn't come across with this at all.
Cons: Though the sign in the station to the hotel was very clear but you still need some help to actually get to the lift to go up to reception unless you walk directly from the Shinkansen track then you will not miss it.

Pros: The Westin Sendai is a beautiful hotel. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. I look forward to staying here again in the future.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are very well decorated, spacious with excellent bath and shower. Comfortable and well lit, and convenient, with lovely views of the city from any window. Some very nice juice and food options at breakfast as well. Attentive and friendly staff.
Cons: My wife complained about the lack of an appropriate mirror and lighting for makeup, and I noticed there were no USB ports of any kind available for charging in the room, though the front desk lent a charger readily. Nespresso machine with a selection of coffees is a nice touch, but ours malfunctioned, and either overfilled or under-filled every cup severely. We have one at home, so we are familiar with how to use it, and it was clearly broken.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing good

7.9 Good
Pros: The staff in front desk is nice. Also the staff feedback very fast and kind while I check room type and rate.
Cons: The room is big but the bed is a little small. They should be able to offer bigger beds with higher rates. It’s a little far from JR station. Luckily the taxi to JR station charges only 700 yen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We weren't here terribly wrong but the staff at the front desk were super helpful and very friendly. They have a cute photo project involving a plush Date. The bed was more comfortable than at the Premier Mitsui I stayed at before this hotel. The room was very nicely sized. They had a well priced room service menu that served late at night. I've not seen that elsewhere.
Cons: The room had a faint smoky smell to it despite being non-smoking. I sort of wish the whole hotel was non-smoking. The washer and dryer at this hotel were worse than at some of the other places I stayed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very large by Japanese standards, modern and comfortable. Could not fault it. Have had nothing but good experiences with Mitsui Garden Hotels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the banana black tea and the other tea selections!

Cons: Everything was great.

Pros: The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the location is great.
Cons: The receptionists need to improve their English. One of them can't even understand the numbers. The bathtub creaks when you step on it.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at 1000 Years of Tradition - Akiu Onsen Sakan in Sendai (Taihaku Ward), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Rairaikyo Gorge and Sendai Kaleidoscope Museum. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Cons: Though the hot spring place was amazing, the room I stayed wasn’t very clean, there were spider webs at the corner of our room and the ceiling of the hot spring place.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous setting. Very large, stately old hotel that has some sort of otherworldly charm. You really feel transported to olden Japan when here. The outdoor onsen is perfect. The other onsens are really great too. Clean, well maintained and with all the facilities you would need. Our room was very nice and overlooked the river. Spent a rainy night here which was quite atmospheric. Breakfast was a huge spread and even had beer... Complimentary shuttle to and from Sendai Station - just needs to be booked in advance.
Cons: Nothing much. The hotel is old but I guess that adds to the charm.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very accommodating and customer service was amazing!!
Cons: It was a bit expensive but totally wirth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The baths are all top class, and the small rotenburo down close to the river is simply wonderful, close enough to feel surrounded by the sounds of the waterfalls and the local frogs while watching the water. And a very satisfying oil massage afterwards. 2 nights, both dinners superb, and although I've lived in Japan for 36 years the chef still surprised me with some new menu items that I've never experienced before!
Cons: The breakfast room atmosphere is a disappointment! No problem at all with the buffet breakfast, but the dining space is depressingly dark; the windows and wall panels on the window side were not open, and the guests were not allowed (so it seemed) to use those window-side tables. And inside that closed-off space the lighting was just not bright enough. It's MORNING, okay? So a bright, light cheerful space should be there for us to wake up in. Open it up, and turn up the lights!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is the best for everything.
Cons: Nothing much activity can do in Akiu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff who helped check us in and orient us to our room was exceptional. He spoke fluent English so was able to explain everything to us with extra care and detail, including showing us how to properly tie our sachiko. He really was terrific! I regret that we weren't able to say goodbye to him the next day. Also, the buffet breakfast was a highlight from the entire Japan trip. I would definitely recommend treating yourself to this once in a lifetime experience.

Pros: I really liked the comfort of the room and the classy atmosphere of this Ryokan. Everything in my room and also the communal bathroom was very clean, staff made sure to clean around all the time. I could sleep very well on the futon and enjoyed a lot the green tea which was offered in the room as a complimentary offering. What stood out the most, was surely the breakfast. Breakfast was superb and traditionally Japanese. The onsen was very relaxing. Staff was friendly and very pampering, even though we couldn't have a conversation. Location is alright, but could have been a bit closer to the metro station. Nevertheless, you can easily reach the main nighttime/restaurant area after 15-20 minutes walking and it seemed quite alright.
Cons: Staff could not speak any English, but was very kind and accomodating, trying to make sure I get everything well by giving me English information they have printed out and laminated for foreign guests. Everything worked well, but it would have been great to communicate more! The onsen working times could have probably been a bit longer, but it was alright.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was great... Enough English is spoken to get everything you need across. Basic questions are not a problem. The room was incredible... And exactly what I was looking for... Traditional, cosy and comfortable! The breakfast served is awesome and very large. The onsen area is perfect... Nice to have a system that allows for a private bath too!
Cons: Everything was perfect!!! The location is the only thing that brought the score down... Not that it's a particular issue... You have to take a bus or train from the main station and then walk a few blocks, but if you have a car... No problems at all!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are just wonderful. Peaceful place, delicious japanese breakfast. Nice hot onsen.
Cons: Room smelled a little, like stale smoke. I think because the windows could never be opened.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent atmosphere and delicious traditional breakfast!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Traditional Japanese experience. Not flashy or touristy but friendly and welcoming.
Cons: Not very central
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice and helpful Staff. Room was quiet big and the breakfast really good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The staff are super friendly towards foreigners and locals alike. Though the language barrier maybe hard it was meant with laughs and joy. The onsen is so good and since the place isn't big you are likely to get it by yourself! The breakfast is to die for. And best of all it is reasonably priced to stay. When I come back to Sendai I will definitely come back to stay.
Cons: Nothing. It was amazing

9.2 Excellent
Pros: I choose Dormy Inn for its Hot Spring facility whenever I traveled in Japan if possible. Location is good within waling distance to Sendai station, shops, and restaurants.
Cons: nothing particular
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room is very clean. Close to station. English-speaking staff. There is an onsen within the premise.
Cons: Breakfast selection became worse since the last time I stayed here.
7.1 Good
Pros: We focussed on Onsen and the hotel offered what we exactly looking for. A perfect size public bath. We enjoyed both inside and outside bath. Complimentary noodles was a nice hospitality. The distance from Sendai station to the hotel is a certain walk through the shopping street and save you a time to shop because you can combine the trip on the way back to the hotel.
Cons: The bed was fluffy and the room size was too small. We do not have much space to move around and end up sitting on the bed for daily activity and found it difficult to get up when we sunk on the bed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: location and Hot spring inside
Cons: no
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was very convenient for the railway station - just be sure not to get this one confused with the other two Dormy Inns nearby. It's only about a six-minute walk once you know exactly where you are going, which is not easy with the elevated walkways. There are maps outside the station and on street corners that list hotels, so you shouldn't get lost. Go through the ground-level shopping arcade with the Don Quijote in it and cross the street. Then go to the right and take a left around the corner, which is where the hotel is. The room was larger than I had expected and the communal baths were excellent - three pools and a sauna. The bed was very comfortable and the fridge was large. You can use a washing machine for free and a dryer for 100 yen per 20-minute cycle (I only needed one). The air conditioning worked very well. There were no problems with outside noise. The surrounding area has many shops and restaurants, plus a metro station almost right outside the hotel's entrance. Sendai is a nice city, exceeding my expectations, and this hotel provides a good base for exploring the city and nearby areas.
Cons: TV channels were all in Japanese, but it appears that this chain caters mainly to Japanese guests. Usually you get a bath in the bathroom, but this only had a shower. Otherwise, there were no problems and I would stay here again.
7.5 Good
Pros: Onsen
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. Very close to train station. Onsen and free ramen are excellent.
Cons: Room is a bit small
5.8 Okay
Cons: The room is wet and the air conditioner smells, bathroom is so small that only allow a man to turn around, that's not possible to take a shower.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s just a 5-minute walk from Sendai Station, easy to find, very convenient. Aoba-dori & Ichibancho are also in a walking distance, no problem finding amazing foods when having a peckish. We had a triple room, which was a bit more spacious than other business hotels we’ve been. The room was clean and well-equipped with all amenities we needed. Staff were very polite and helpful.
Cons: None
7.1 Good
Pros: Their breakfast is very good.
Cons: The room no. 628 had a very bad smelling from the bathroom. We immediately told the front desk after we first time opened that room. However, the answer is quite sad. They just asked us to stay one night and will change to the other room where is the next room. This is out of my imagination which is the typical Japanese spirits. Very bad experience for my first time to travel to Japan...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: located near railway station and shopping streets
7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Poor AC system
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfy beds, nearby station (especially useful with suitcases) and clean.
Cons: Staff didn't speak English at all or even tried to. Didn't seem too friendly. There were no English instructions for the airco, so thinking we lowered the temperature we went to bed, only to wake up sweating as apparently it was a heating function... Spent half an hour in the middle of the night to try and get google translate to help us. Sigh.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is fantastic. Minutes away from Sendai Station, shopping street and plenty of food. Rooms are also good sized and very comfortable.
Cons: Our family of 5 adults plus one baby were obviously struggling with our 8 pieces of luggage but staff were not particularly helpful in helping us with a trolley etc like other hotels. Check in staff at reception were not very warm either.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service staff of the hotel are very professional. It is very close to Sendai Station. People enjoy the convenience of the city without the noise of the traffic. There are very few Chinese people living in the hotel. So no Chinese or children are noisy in the hotel. This is I have been quietly staying in Japan for many times. The breakfast here is very delicious. After getting up in the morning, I can easily drink coffee in the restaurant and feel like I was in the Showa era. I like it very much!
Cons: When you take the elevator, you need to swipe the card to go upstairs, but the card is not clearly marked. This is a small suggestion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's the first stop of this summer trip in the north east of Japan. The very comfortable stay made the trip pleasant.
Cons: No.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was so convenient...Literally around the corner from Sendai Station. The staff was very helpful even though we had a language barrier.
Cons: Not very much parking; breakfast that cost $16

With a stay at Richmond Hotel Sendai in Sendai (Aoba Ward), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Tohoku University and Sendai International Center.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I booked this hotel because I had already stayed there the last time I was in Sendai. Just like last time the staff was friendly and gave us some extra things to choose from (face masks, additional toiletries, etc) at check-in and all went really quick. This time, just like last time, we were given coupons for free drinks at the Royal Host, that is located right next to the entrance of the hotel. Staff: The staff was just as helpful and friendly as last time. Facilities: The hotel isn't as modern as the one we visited earlier in this trip, but even so it held up to my expectations. We each had a room and enough space, to open our suitcases comfortably. There was a desk, a big TV, a comfortable chair and charger, you could use to charge your devices. They had a Hi cell phone that you could use in and outside of the hotel; I didn't make any use of it, since we bought cell phone plans and had internet of our own. That said, there is a wifi connection and it worked perfectly. The air condition worked perfectly, which was very welcome. Cleanliness: The room was spotless and you could opt to have them not clean the sheets in exchange for a water bottle for each day, that they didn't change the sheets (which I did. I was very grateful for the water bottles, since it was the middle of summer and very hot outside). My friend once didn't have the room cleaned, but got back to the hotel to see a bag with fresh towels, which she appreciated. Comfort: Nothing changed from my last visit, so the bed was as good as I remembered. There's two types of pillows (one with memory foam and a more fluffy one). I slept like a log each night. Location: As I said last time, once you figure out the back alley way to the train station, it's quite close. You have several exists and are quickly anywhere you might need to be in Sendai. All in all it's good value for money.
Cons: The only facility that was a bit subpar was the coin laundry/dryer: make sure to not put too much clothes in it, or the clothes might not dry well. Otherwise everything was just as good as expected since my last visit.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast, a lot of variety of food. Clean room.
Cons: There was small room for 3 people.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is awesome!! and the staff is supre nice and patient.
Cons: There is a carpet smell in the room and mold smell in the bathroom. but other than that, evenything was incrediable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet neighborhood, clean room
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property was a 7 min walk from sendai station. Staff was great! Will definitely stay here again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel. Location is quite good, about 10 minute walk from the train station and shopping streets. Not all the staff can speak well English, but it was ok. A cool feature is that a free smartphone is provided in each room with free mobile data and local phone number, which is very convenient when travelling. Also free welcome drinks every day (beer or wine).
Cons: Employee could speak better English, but overall it was not much of an issue, and we enjoyed our stay. Since there is a length requirements for reviews, I will add some filler sentence to fill this box. Thanks for reading.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great pillows and pajamas
Cons: Great value for money

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved our stay here...from the greeting by staff as we walked in & being given a tour of the facilities, to the best seafood dinner during our trip and delicious buffet breakfast that included local foods from Matsushima and a beautiful view of the bay! Loved waking up to the sight of a bamboo forest outside our window. Also enjoyed the private bathing spas that you can reserve a time for. Fun facilities like ping pong tables, karaoke room, free video rentals & a mini library. We also really appreciated being shuttled to the bayside after check out. The staff stored our luggage while we were sight-seeing the town and even shuttled our bags to Matsushima Station for us when we were ready to depart. Everyone was so courteous & helpful. We definitely want to come back to Breezbay Seaside Resort the next time we are in Matsushima Bay!
Cons: I am very sensitive to smells and didn't care for the strong incense scent as we walked into the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel found out that I had stayed there in 2018 so they went out of their way to welcome us back in 2019. We just reserved nabe dinner for 4. Instead they served us a feast of shabu shabu with wagyu beef and fresh oysters to welcome us back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast is perfect, taste good.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Shabu-Shabu, the 2 private onsens and public onsen. Good views of the bay.
Cons: My fault! I should have read the directions properly. The hotel will pick up at the station. The last part of the 6 minute walk is uphill.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Huge room looking out at a forest area was very relaxing. There's also a great view of Matsushima bay from the restaurant.
Cons: ------
6.3 Good
Pros: The pools were lovely, the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast had a great selection of Japanese and European choices. Bedrooms and bathrooms satisfactory, like the complimentary room accessories. The view into the bay was incredible.
Cons: Overpriced. Old fashioned decor and a bar on site would have been good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent dinner and breakfast. Amazing oysters !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Located a 5 minute walk from the center and with views over Matsushima Bay this hotel looks simple on its photo but is actually very beautiful on the inside. Rooms are spacious, beds super comfortable and breakfast buffet very extensive. Has a nice onsen too, including two private ones that you can reserve. Staff speaks little English but is lovely and helped us out when we had a problem. Matsushima is gorgeous and well worth staying a few days rather than just coming for the day trip most people do. Good Italian restaurant by the station too (Toto).
Cons: Nothing.
