Pros: The lady was so friendly and also the place. The room was big and nice decorated with rustic and modern combination. We had breakfast in the cellar but they used a heating system inside to be comfortable. The breakfast is good with ham and cheese, milk and cereals, butter and jam.
Cons: -

Pros: Quirky with a huge amount of ambiance. The breakfast in the cave underneath the hotel was a real pleasurable experience with lots of home made products. The ethos is garden and sustainability which was a breath of fresh air. Really recommend.
Cons: The heating was a little old fashion and we couldn't get it turned on.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location! Both inside and outside were very charming and quaint, amazing attention to detail in all the decor making for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Owners/ Staff were very nice and attentive, we received a very nice welcome and friendly atmosphere throughout our stay. One night due to the unavailability of taxis the restaurant called the owner and he came and picked us up from a local restaurant that had no footpaths to it. Breakfasts were amazing! Huge selection and variety, including a warm baked apple, crepes, an apricot in juice, yoghurts, bread, croissants, toast, boiled eggs, and a huge selection of juices, preserves and jams. All in all a fantastic stay and would definitely go back.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was wonderful, the accommodation was really special and the breakfast was gorgeous - the madeleines were a firm favourite. We brought bread for our youngest who is coeliac and I forgot to mention it when booking. Odile couldn’t have been nicer, ensuring that our youngest had enough to eat at breakfast and making sure we were booked into a local restaurant that catered for her (another wonderful experience!). The trip was in a word - perfect, Thanks. We’ll be back!
Cons: Nothing, all good.

Le Patio & Spa - Saumur - Building
4
9.1 Excellent (801 reviews)

A continental breakfast with fresh and local produce is served each morning on the patio. A87 Highway is a 10-minute drive away.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was reasonable but the fruit was rather tired. Good coffee. The breakfast room was fine. It was a quirky and very old place. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Parking opposite the hotel, along the river embankment, was very convenient. It was easy walk to the town centre and places of interest.
Cons: The room was rather dark and the lighting was poor. The shower was adequate, I felt the bathroom facilities could be updated. There was insufficient cover for the window in the bathroom to give adequate privacy although I don't suppose the window was directly overlooked.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good but the fruit was limited. The location was excellent. The building is charming.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: the light situation, dark, need stronger light, too dim, too dark
7.1 Good
Pros: The owners are hospitable and the place is very nice and atmospheric.
Cons: Most likely we were unlucky with the room as our room did not correspond to the description (it did not have a seating area and a desk) and it faced a street with a rather busy traffic in the morning (although we asked for a quiet room). Overall, the room was not very cosy (the pictures on the website for a triple room showed a different room setting). In addition, bathroom is rather uncomfortable as there is no handle for a shower and you have to hold it in your hand. Advice to travellers: avoid room #6. Advice to owners: sell this room with discount and a warning of the discomfort.
7.9 Good
Pros: Old and stylish place
Cons: Breakfast
6.7 Good
Pros: Great location, free parking on street, interesting building with inner courtyard
Cons: Late check-in at 5pm. This would have been ok if we could have accessed the building and had a drink and sit-down until check-in time, but the whole building was closed until 5pm which we considered quite inconvenient. Our room was on the third floor and only accessible by an old-fashioned staircase, so transporting luggage there wasn't very easy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gave great recommendations for restaurants and shopping.

La Jarillais - Saumur - Building
6
9.3 Excellent (65 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Saumur, La Jarillais Chambre d'hôtes is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Maison de Vin and Bouvet Ladubay. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful cottage in a lovely rural area. The decor was very elegant, good shower and very good beds.
Cons: Don't bring your dog. There are many animals walking loose at La Jarillais, chickens (with small chicks), other dogs, cats that walk in and out etc. We had to keep our (well bahaved) dog on a leash all the time. There was no toilet paper (we had to buy at a Carrefour) and we had to rent linnens and towles. We arrived late after a long journey and it would have been nice if our beds had been made. When we wanted to ask our hosts something they were never available or near. Payment was confusing and they didn't know if they had received the pre-payment from Booking or not. All in all, a lovely place but don't expect any hospitality or warmth.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing setting. Hosts were very helpful and they spoke good English.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind and conscientious hosts. They went out of their way to make certain I was comfortable and accommodated. This property is just a 12 minute drive from town (better if you have a car, taxi’s do not get excited to drive out of town), so it is very calm and quiet. These are “Gites” not separate houses, but you do have your own full kitchen/living-room/bathroom/bedroom and in some cases a washer-dryer and back patio. It’s well equipped, but bring your own sheets and towels otherwise you pay a small fee to use theirs (basically they are renting you a living space). Breakfast is also additional fee, and it is worth it to be able to walk into the main house and enjoy hot coffee, juice and an array of snacks. The owners are very sweet and rhymes have the cutest pooch -whom I wanted to take home with me. Highly recommend this property. I will be back.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind. Though I do feel that sheets and towels should be part of the rental, I wasn’t upset by their policy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet relaxing location. Lovely huge grounds and clean pool. Hosts were very friendly but left you to yourselves u less you wanted something then more than happy to help.
Cons: There was no where you could walk to in the evening for a meal or drinks, but we were happy drinking outside our gite on the terrace.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: What a great location, just outside Saumur (5 min) but totally in the countryside. Lovely owners, extremely kind and willing to help with everything. Our kids loved all the animals present (dogs, cat, chickens, horses). The garden is lovely with seats everywhere and the Swimmingpool was perfect. The Gite is rustic French with everything you need. Nothing fancy but compared to the price we thought it was a bargain. Franc and Elizabeth, many thanks for the great stay. We would highly recommend it and will come back when possible!
Cons: In the gite an extra couch inside or outside would be nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable gite, out in lovely peaceful countryside close to Saumur.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners were particularly friendly despite some mishaps and also spoke English well although they didn't think so.
Cons: No improvements suggested
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very helpful and accomodating. We couldn't have done without them, as our car broke down and they helped interpret what the garage was saying to us.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Owners incredibly kind and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Spacious room. Fridge was really useful.

Cons: Only that we couldn't stay longer !!!!!
7.9 Good
Pros: nice hotel by the train station and a 20 minute walk to the town centre over two bridges that spanned the loire river.. we arrived early and were allowed by hosts mary and anne to park our car in the secure gated carpark until our room was ready later in the day...these two lovely lady's also upgraded our room to the front of the building so we had a view of the chateau... the room was well insulated from the hustle and bustle of the train station...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the Ibis Styles Saumur Gare Centre Hotel for a long weekend in November 2019. The room was perfect for us and all the staff we dealt with had a very good level of English (which was brilliant because our level of French was not good). They were so friendly and helpful - from suggesting gorgeous places to eat for dinner to putting on a breakfast spread for us at 4:30 a.m. the morning we left! We cannot recommend this hotel enough!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent shower, room large and well heated. As we were travelling with dogs we were pleased to be allocated a quiet room
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing when compared to other IBIS hotels, especially given it is a styleds hotel, coffee expensive. Although car park was hardly used too much was made off us not prebooking and we were allocated the space that was furthest from the entry to reception.

Pros: Perfect stopover hotel: quiet, comfortable, good food. Easy to find on outskirts of Saumur, with secure parking.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel was very good. It was modern, clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful . The restaurant was excellent wit,h good and original dishes well served. The only downside was that the hotel is on the edge of town, although.. I had been led to believe it was central. A car was needed to go into town. This was to some extent compensated by the fact that the hotel has good parking.
Cons: One small problem. When we arrived there was a notice on the board saying the restaurant was closed Saturday and Sunday lunchtime, so we were surprised that when we wanted to eat there on Sunday evening it was closed. They had forgotten to change th notice.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, friendly staff and good breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The only two things that prevent me staying again. It is a little too far to walk into town, and the Taxis are expensive. And it is the first hotel where I have had to pay for the phone call for the Taxi, this should be covered by the Taxi company. My wife and I will choose somewhere else next year

Pros: Home made bread, jams, orange juice coffee, tea. Interesting road and parking! Some form of transport needed for restaurants and sightseeing but on the whole a delightful b&b with friendly helpful hosts.
Cons: cannot think of anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a fantastic find, we booked 2 rooms in this cave house and they were truly beautiful. The rooms were sympathetically decorated, enormous with lovely bathrooms. It did not finish there, we were shown through to a large seating balcony with tea and coffee waiting overlooking a large dining area where we had a lovely breakfast which was for our use only. You could see the Loire river from your room window, it as quiet at night and we did not close the window or curtain. Our breakfast was fantastic with tea or coffee, freshly bakes baguettes and homemade jam (apricot, banana, melon and pear). Monsieur and Madame Amat greeted us warmly, they were never intrusive but were happy to chat about the house and surrounding area. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Cons: Nothing it was all perfect.

Pros: Breakfast was good and the room was spacious.
Cons: Access and parking were extremely difficult.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ami Chemin is an amazing place, tucked away on the edge of Saumur, you wouldn't even know it was there. Small and secluded, a great place to spend our last night on the way back to England. Ami Chemin is a very short drive from the centre of Saumur, but far enough away to be peaceful. Our hosts were excellent, providing all that needed. Breakfast was great, fresh bread with home made jams. If you want a small personal hotel away from the hubub of the city, but close enough to visit, in a wonderful old building - this is for you.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed. Good en suite. Plenty of room. Quirky character. Welcoming hosts.

Would recommend and return if in the area.
Cons: Nothing at all.
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable room. Good breakfast. Cleanliness.
Cons: Small plumbing problem. Location not brilliant for someone with walking disability. G

Pros: This was by some margin the best hotel we have stayed at on this trip !! The rooms were very spacious and pristinely clean. The staff wre very friendly probably because the Hotel proprietor is also the manager .The breakfast room was bright and cheerful and the food was very good !!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, super B&B with unique architecture. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, would do anything for you.
Cons: Breakfast was simple but lovely, would have liked it even more if some fresh fruit had been available.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A very quaint and quirky hotel with pleasant hosts. Rooms in keeping with the manner and age. Just out of saumur but within a few minute drive. Nice home made jams at breakfast. Saumur map and guide in the room. Be aware of the limited access due to the road, this has been mentioned before. Okay for the motorbike and small cars only. Limited to three spaces near the hotel.
Cons: Limited check in time, only between 5pm and 7pm.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Spartan breakfast. Would have liked more choice on the table - e.g. cheeses, meats, fruits. Very difficult to access and park with a large car.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, comfortable and friendly

4 star hotel in historical monument with view of Saumur castle and Loire river - swimming pool and SPA
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast at the hotel was good if a little expensive. The hotel has very friendly staff. It was nice being able to relax in the lounge area, the bar is very small. A lovely view of the river and a very big room.
Cons: people in this town definitely do not pick up after there dogs. There were big piles of mess on every pavement. Unfortunately we went over a weekend and the restaurant joined onto the hotel does not open on a Sunday or Monday. We did find other restaurants near by that were open. It’s a 5 min walk to the town and the view from the hotel was lovely over the river but the noise from the road was quite bad with moterbikes reving up and down the road at night and traffic early in the morning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: location, good breakfast
Cons: no gym
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was nice and helpful The hall and stairway are beautiful . The view on the castle above just amazing The bathroom was super clean and the room on that part of the building was really calm
Cons: I was first given a tiny Room which was noisy and quite old(stained carpet)

Pros: We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the building has a wonderful atmosphere. Secure parking is a real bonus. Perfectly located to explore Saumur we will definitely be back.

Pros: Perfect location on the river and just a short stroll across the bridge into town for dinner. We did't realise when we booked that the hotel did not have a restaurant for evening meals but it did not matter as there were so many lovely restaurants within walking distance. The terrace over looking the river is perfect for evening drinks and for breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Excellent view of Chateau.
Cons: Hotel does not serve meals (except breakfast). Staff forgot to make reservation at nearby restaurant for our evening meal.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: On the banks of the river with spectacular view of the castle
Cons: Breakfast way too expensive at £14.00 per person!
5.8 Okay
Pros: When we looked at this hotel, we thought it was fair value for money but this changed when we found out, at check out, that the breakfast was not included. There was no evening restaurant only expensive room service, which meant we had to walk the 10 minutes into town for something to eat, being in poor health this was not good. The room itself was ok a bit small, very little room to move around a tiny wardrobe, not even tall enough to hang a dress, but with a lovely view of the river, the Château & Saumur. It is a good base for touring around the area.
Cons: No evening restaurant, room too small, wardrobes almost none existent.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was excellent short walk over the bridge to the town. With a lovely view over the river
Cons: Tea and coffee etc in room was very poor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best location and spectacular City views and a great breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view to The chateau and town. Short walk to restaurants. Good breakfast and very comfortable bed.
Cons: I do not understand why hotels of this category use the wall hairdryers. Not really possible to dry and style woman’s hair with.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location very close to the old town, but our room was at the back of the hotel so it was still quiet. Room was very nice, clean and well decorated and the shower room very good. Tea & coffee making facility great although we had to go down and ask for a second paper cup. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very welcoming.
Cons: Struggled a bit with stairs up to our 2nd floor room, there being no lift. For privacy purposes, would have preferred a proper door to the bathroom rather than the opaque-glass sliding door.
7.9 Good
Pros: Hotel is located near the center of Saumur. Convenient to restaurants and shopping.
Cons: No elevator to reach top floors.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly
Cons: The bed was against the wall

Pros: Great location, really comfortable, very friendly staff.
Cons: No elevator which made stair difficult for party members who were less agile.

Pros: Excellent location in this great city. The inside parking was €9/night (not clear on the site). The staff were informative and helpful. We would stay there again if we come back...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great location helpful; staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was right in the heart of Saumur and close to many dining options. Parking in the lot directly adjacent to the hotel was very convenient. The front desk staff was excellent - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had many items and was served nicely. Besides hard boiled eggs, all items were cold but good quality. The little dining room was comfortable and charming.
Cons: Overall, this is a great property. We would have preferred a room with a window (this room did not have a window) but it did have a large skylight so it didn't feel claustrophobic.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great room really central helpful staff Wonderful breakfast
