Except one grumpy male south-asian staff at the Front desk, all other staff were very nice and polite, especially the Chinese lady who checked me in, since I can also speak Chinese, we chatted for a while, and she was so nice and helped me with everything. Also the Convenience store that is accessible through the Hotel's first floor is nice. If after a long day outside you don't want to go out again just to get some snacks, you just go downstairs. There's also a Souvenir shop in the 2nd floor, that has many nice things, if you don't have time to buy everything at the airport. The Airport shuttle bus stop is right in front of the hotel. The bus goes from the airport to the hotel every 15-20 minutes, but from the Hotel back to the airport only once an hour, so plan accordingly. Front desk has a schedule if you ask.
I just overall expected more from an official ANA hotel in Japan. It's in the higher price range, and in Japan for that money I just expected it to be a little better. The walls and carpet in the room really look quite worn down, and I found multiple hair on the bed, in the fridge (which was quite dirty inside), in the Tea set and on the table. I know it's sometimes difficult to clean up everything in time, but again, from a hotel like this I expected better. At least one bottle of complimentary water should be there, but there are only drinks you have to pay for in the fridge. 250 Yen for a bottle of water is ok with me, which I gladly paid when I arrived thirsty in my room, but again, at least one complimentary bottle should be standard.
Modern rooms, nespresso coffee machine in room, proximity to shopping and food
Our rooms were on lower floor. Rooms were old but very well maintained. But mattresses were too soft. Looking forward to visit again, perhaps on the renovated rooms.
The rooms smelled intensely of cigarette smoke. Smell did not diminish throughout our stay so it did not appear that the rooms were being properly cleaned and freshened daily. The room assigned to us for two people was smaller than the one assigned to our colleague for single accommodation. Yet ours was more expensive.
Location was convenient. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Room was very small. No bottled water provided. Fridge was too small to put anything in.
