Cons: Hard beds.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, good breakfast and excellent very helpful host.
Cons: Nothing of significance.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was amazing! The room was warm, cozy, clean and fun. The owners, Claudia and Jorje, were extremely kind and went out of their way to help us at any time. They gave us recommendations and showed interest at we came to do in El Chalten. They even gave us an extra bag pack and left coffee and cake when we went hiking before sunrise. A lovely couple that gave a warm welcoming feeling. Highly recommended!
Cons: Nothing! Really!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Claudia and Jorge were amazing hosts. They helped organizing our trekking tour, the ride to the starting point and called our bus company for confirming our return ride back to El Calafate. The room was very nice, clean and cosy. The breakfast was good and you could always ask for second helpings. On our check out day, the heated up our pizza from the night before and let us stay in the common area until our bus arrived. Super friendly and very nice people! Thank you for this wonderful stay!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, comfortable and clean room.
Cons: The bathroom was a little stinky because of the open drain in the floor.
Anita s House - El Chaltén - Building

9.3 Excellent (110 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in El Chalten, Anita s House is a 1-minute drive from Capilla de los Escaladores and 8 minutes from Salto El Chorrillo Waterfall. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Anita is very friendly and helpful! Very nice apartment in good location. We would definitely choose it again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were super helpful and nice. We were traveling with a one year old and a three year old and they gave us bunch of recommendations for restaurants and hikes. Anita's house is walking distance from a lot of the bars and restaurants and close to where lots of the trails start. Amenities were great and comfie.
Cons: No specific comments.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, the view is amazing, the style is awesome... but the homemade alfajor... wow! Incredible!
Cons: Sometimes it was a little colder than expected inside the apartment, but very comfortable, beautiful and functional!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anita and her husband were very hospitable. She was readily available to answer any questions and super helpful! Plus, their shop in the front has the best alfajores I've had in all of Argentina!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great place and Anita is a fantastic host, helpful, friendly and warm. The apartment was extremely comfortable, had great lighting and tastefully styled - plus it had a bath for after those long cold hikes!! An added bonus is the coffee and cakes made by Anita,s husband, Leon, in his premises right next door. It was the best coffee we've had in Argentina and the little speciality biscuits are fantastic. The area is just beautiful and we would have loved to stay longer
Cons: That we couldn't stay longer!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, slightly further from the bus station if you arriving from Calafate but once you arrive at Anita's, Sendoro Laguna Torre and Sendero Fitz Roy are all a stone's throw away. It is near to popular hang out spots such as Rancho Grande, Brown Sugar, and more recently Primo's Coffee Bar. On the recommendation of Anita, there's also Simple which is a few houses down for delicious organic food and set boxes for packing up. Anita was a perfect host from the get-go, she gave updates on weather, conditions of the treks and what to expect. As i came unprepared I relied alot on her advice - although I should also have listened to her about renting clamp-ons for my hike up to Fitz Roy. The view behind my cabin was beautiful, especially in the mornings - when the sun rises, it will finally hit you that you are in Patagonia. The bed was comfortable, the cabin clean, nice amenities provided, heater, and there's even a bidet.
Cons: Seriously, nothing much to complaint about. Except, I would have preferred if I was able to pay using card but that's a small issue. Tip: If there's no money in the one and only ATM (I heard there's two - but both has no money when i was there), you can go Rancho Grande and offer to pay for people's dinner using your card in exchange for cash.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly comfortable bed and super cosy comforter after a long days’ hike. Good shower, too. Very clean and welcoming.

5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is nice. The rooms are nice looking, if cramped. The breakfast was good. It was very clean.
Cons: There is no noise buffering. My room was on the second floor and I could hear every word of conversation in the kitchen area downstairs, even with the door closed. I had a hard time sleeping because someone in the next room was snoring and it was very loud in my room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, breakfast was delicious, and most importantly, the staff were extremely kind and helpful!
Cons: Nothing really.
7.9 Good
Pros: The owner was nice with very good tips. She even moved the breakfast for us so we could eat earlier becouse we had a bus. The room was nicly decorated
Cons: The room was at the first floor, next to the reception and the common area. It was noisy. When ever people talked it felt like their inside our room. The breakfast was poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for El Chalten!! I felt welcomed and at home. They serve a modest breakfast in the am with scramble eggs, tea/coffee/juice and pastries. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless and exceptional. I definitely would have paid for the type of accommodations they offered. I would definitely stay here again!!
Cons: I wish I could have stayed longer!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were super helpful in organising treks, lunches, transfers etc. Excellent value for money!
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good. Lina is very nice and helpful.
Cons: 1. The room was extremely tiny, when we opened our suitcases we needed to jump over them to go to the bathroom. 2. The walls are so thin that we could hear all our neighbors conversations (they were talking quietly) and their snoring at night. 3. The location of the hotel is not good, it's not close to the bus station neither to the starting points of the treks. 4. The toilet is not well maintained, it got clogged and fludded our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best place we have stayed in Argentina! Lina and Augustina were amazingly helpful with everything, the breakfast was delicious, the bed very comfortable and the hot shower perfect after a long day of walking. Would absolutely recommend staying here to everyone!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Cute, comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful and they are great cooks. Thoughtful touches, shampoo and conditioner and soap, tea all the time.... books to look at. Great recommendations. Hot water. Anything you can think of. Much more than we expected. Would 10/10 stat again.

Pros: I could say that Destino Sur is One of the best hotel in El Chalten . The room is quite big and the bed is comfy . The hotel is well quipped with the amenities like spa , jacuzzi , sauna ,steam and a little gyms. The breakfast was great with a lot of selections. The bar was nice but we did not have time to spend.
Cons: We were unlucky that the spa , gyms and jacuzzi were under renovation. But the staffs were like keep avoiding to tell the truth to us that you can not use at the moment . 7.9 Good
Pros: Very comfortable master bedroom and bath. Little touches included like shower cap and nice bathtub, daily cleaning.
Cons: Some of the furniture was out of date and unusable. Although the description indicated two beds, in fact the 2nd bed is in the kitchen/living room area.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view was amazing and the little goodies at the end of each day was a wonderful touch. Mara was very accommodating and helpful.
Cons: I wish there was an outside patio where we could sit and enjoy the sun and my dad wishes CNN was on the TV in English.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place is homyand comfy. It is more like a small house. I stay in an apartment which is offering for 4 people. I think 2-3 people are ok but for4 might be a bit small. For 2 people is the perfect size. The location is great on the street and not far from the starting point of the treks. The wifi signal is strong. Badically, i like the property and ithink its value to what i paid.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great and staff were friendly.
Cons: Wifi was working quite badly in our room which normally wouldn't have been a big deal, except that my husband had to get some urgent work done and so that made it difficult. Also the hotel grossly overcharged for their lunch box set - I understand that hotels will charge a premium for the convenience, but USD 16 for a very basic ham and cheese sandwich with an apple and a snack bar is very expensive for El Chalten. I would advise to buy food from shops outside the hotel.

Good location, close to most restaurants & activities - bit of a walk to end of town / to the main trailhead for Fitz Roy. Across the road from the bus station so handy if this is how you are coming to town. Lunch packs for sufficient, but nothing too special - all you needed to get you through the hiking!
Cons: Our room was uncomfortably warm, making it quite difficult to sleep as there was only one small window & no way to adjust the temperature. Shower was not the best, temperamental temperature & pressure was intermittent. WiFi was hit & miss, but not a big deal really as most in El Chalten is!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and cosy place for El Chalten. Staff is very nice and helpfull !
Cons: The wifi is very poor considering there is great free wifi in the street all over town Food of the restaurant could get an improvement.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent staff there especially Jackie, very helpfull and friendly. Thank you to all the Team Gilles
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay in Chalten. Clean, comfortable, nicely designed rooms with super comfortable beds and linen. An oasis in the harsh environment of Patagonia. A great place to recharge your batteries. Good food. Great and friendly staff. Always service with a smile.
9.6 Excellent

6.0 Good
Pros: Very close to the Mt Fitz Roy trails
Cons: The restaurant hosts all day for busloads and tour groups. Many times all downstairs tables are reserved and upstairs is supposed to be the hostel common area but they've had most of upstairs reserved at times too leaving little to no space for those staying here.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: A little bit noisy during the night, but it is a hostel after all
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was really clean and had a nice view on the mountains. Very helpful staff with great English. It is located just near the entrance to Fitzroy track. Breakfast is ok, they offer a 10% discount to their restaurant and there is a plenty of other nice restaurants near (we especially liked the waffleria)
7.9 Good
Pros: You can get brekfast super early if you want to go hiking at sunrise. Super helpful and nice guy at the front desk.
Cons: It can get get noisy since restaurant is working 24h, but if you are tired from all the hiking then it does not matter.

Pros: - very friendly and helpfull staff - you can pay with credit card - very clean rooms - comfortabel beds and good heating - great location close to the trails and restaurants, next to the ice cream shop!
Cons: - You only get shampoo and conditioner once. They were in plastic bags so you can only use them once and you don't get new ones when they change the towels.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location in El Chalten, close to a number of restaurants and shops and with easy access to hiking trails in all directions.
Cons: Stains on bed sheets and towels
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really lovely. The room was large.
Cons: The room could have been cleaned better.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed and heated room and floors Nightshift guy on reception very helpful with information about hikes.
Cons: Location on booking.com and google maps incorrect. It’s actually further down the street than it says by about 3-4 blocks - still a good location, just not where it says it is. One of the staff wasnt very helpful and a bit vague.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. The staff was Nice and helpful. Good location, the laguna Torre hike was just outside
Cons: Wifi did not really work but that was the problem in the whole village
8.3 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location (not to far from hikes or the bus station). Clean and comfortable room. For the price, the included breakfast had a few options, which was appreciated. Hostel was quiet and peaceful. Staff spoke English and were very helpful in answering questions
Cons: Wind at night was loud, but not the hostel's fault. Even when wearing ear plugs, wind could still be loud.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were warm, clean and powerful hot shower. Friendly staff
Cons: Sometimes the water pressure drops but not for long and barely noticeable

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Lobby, great service
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast with a good options and attentive staff. Comfortable bed. Good supply of hot water. Polite, efficient reception staff.
Cons: Shoody workmanship in rooms. badly fitting frames, broken tiles, messy plastic filler in joints. The bidet had a wide space in the room but the toilet beside it was crammed next to a wall and your left leg was jammed against a wall heater. Bathroom sink tap built too close to mirror and not able to function properly. Loose fixtures for bath railing and towel holders. Broken wall cement around pipe and heater fittings. I can't believe the shoddy work in a newly renovated room. Cigarette smoke from smokers in cubicle outside front entrance sent smoke directly into the lounge area, forcing evacuation of clients sensitive to cigarette fumes. Needs attending to as the El Chalten wind operates most days and blows the fumes easily into the lounge. Walls are thin, thus residents having to listen to unwanted conversations and activities through the night in the next room. No wi-fi in rooms. Staff indicated this won't be available until next year.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very accommodating to our needs. It's located right off of the main road so it is very near to restaurants and shops. They had free parking available.
Cons: They did not have wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby, and it was often slow.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice hotel, good beds and shower. Centrally located in el Chalten. The staff is helpfull. We had a room without ventilation( room number 40) so the smell was not nice. We got another room immediatly and of course this one has ventilation and so do the other rooms. Rooms are nice decorated.
Cons: They only have wifi in the central area ( not especcially negative but when travelling you sometimes need extensive wifi). There is no television in the room. Also for us no problem but good to know. The scrambled eggs at the breakfast were the worst of our four months travelling ( and we ate a lot of scrambled eggs). I couldn’t figurenout what the problem was but it was more like porridge. El Chalten is expensive but Inthink this hotel was overrated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff
Cons: The breakfast was limited- but we also had nothing to compare it to
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a really comfortable room, everything was clean, and the staff were fantastic. The woman at the front desk gave us some excellent hiking recommendations. Everything in town is a close walk.
Cons: Having wifi only available in the lobby was a bit inconvenient.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Great location about 15 km from town so you feel very isolated. Great views from the tent. There are a few very nice trails nearby with far less people than those that start from El Chalten. Meals were delicious with several options. Good shower with hot water. We used their shuttle and that worked well. All in all a good experience, we had great weather so it was pleasant.
Cons: Wood stove is not adequate to heat the tent when it's cold outside but the bed is very comfortable and warm so as long as you stay in bed at night you're fine. Mice were the main issue. They come in when it's cold out and we had a mouse in the bed on a few nights and another one that got into my backpack. Mousetraps should be considered.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! We only stayed one night but it was perfect. We took the noon shuttle to the domes from El chalten after we arrived, and just relaxed for the rest of the day and walked around the area. The staff is SO friendly and helpful with absolutely everything, and the experience is exactly what we were looking for. The bed was some of the most comfortable - because the dome is heated by a wood burning fireplace inside, which means it goes out at night if you don't tend to it, they also provide a very warm duvet for the bedding - we didn't find it too cold at night. The breakfast was fantastic!! The only place on our entire trip who had bacon, and they also offer a boxed lunch (for purchase) to take on the hike. Because we only stayed one night and stayed in El Chalten town after, we ended up hiking to Laguna de los tres the next day from the dome (after we checked out) with just our day packs, and did the full loop back to El chalten. The eco dome actually shuttled the rest of our stuff back to El Chalten (directly to our accommodation in El Chalten) for us so we just go straight there and the rest of our luggage was waiting for us there! This was so convenient!!
Cons: Not necessarily a bad thing, but it is far (25 min drive) from El Chalten. If you're driving yourself, it's on a dirt/unpaved road. If you're planning to do a lot of treks that starts from El Chalten this may impact your plan slightly. Also, unless you pack your own food, there's no other places to eat besides at the dome, so just be prepared to bring extra money for dinner (they do take credit card too).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The surroundings, the ambiance and the cleanliness
Cons: It was a little bit cold at night - hearing is with Fire
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved that one of the main trail to Fitz Roy is easily accessible on the location!
Cons: Can’t complain about anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Patagonia EcoDomes were the highlight of our trip to Argentina. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was consistently delicious. The location and the view could not be more perfect. The domes were extremely comfortable. Could not recommend Patagonia EcoDomes more highly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Food is great. Excellent location right off trail to Laguna de los Tres. Cannot stress how big of a plus location to trail was.
Cons: Cold at night. Long drive down unpaved road from town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The views were spectacular, the food was fabulous, and the staff was amazing. We were well taken care of. Would not hesitate to recommend.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This experience blew away our expectations. The staff here is on another level. They will start your fire for you at any time to warm your room and will even have it ready by a certain time. They prepared a great sack lunch for us for the trail and cooked an amazingly delicious dinner for us even within 30 min of closing the kitchen. They were happy and eager to help at every turn and could not have been nicer. The grounds are gorgeous and provide access to the Fitz Roy hike. Cannot say enough positive things about our experience.
Cons: It does get a little cold at night if you don't keep the fire going in your stove. Also, it has a 20 min drive on a dirt road from town. Only complaints though.

9.4 Excellent
Pros: The location and the staff was helpful. It was a pleasant surprise to find such an establishment in el chalten
Cons: Wifi was unstable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel hasn't been reopened yet for summer season. We were offered to stay at Destino Sur, higher level hotel of the same group (at the same price!). Then, my very good iopinion is related to that hotel. But if you stay at Hotel Poincenot, please consider to have dinner at Destino Sur restaurant: it's very, very good! A modern interpretation of fantastic Argentine cooking.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location brilliant for access to walls and restaurants etc. Breakfast good.
Cons: Bathroom/ shower could do with updating.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location to trail heads. Plenty of restaurants, markets, within walking distance. Included breakfast. Clean accomodation with an electronic safe.
Cons: Spotty / unreliable wifi (on our first day, it did not work at all). Front desk staff was not too friendly (did not crack a smile when checking us in) and not very helpful or as knowledgeable as they should (i.e. it was raining outside, when asked they didn't know the closing time of the market two doors down)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, room and breakfast. Staff very friendly and eager to help. Good advice on the trekking options. Thank you.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Maria Belen who works the front desk was very helpful and friendly. My sister and I visited several hotels in South America over a period of three weeks and thought Maria provided the best advice and was the most welcoming out of all of the hotel staff we met on our trip.
