We loved this place! It felt very private and peaceful. Just a few steps into the hotel and we already felt less stressed. We set up our spa day at check-in and went to our lovely room before setting out on our adventures in the Centro.
There was no air conditioning! Unseasonably hot in Queretaro, too. Made it more difficult for this hot-natured traveler to fall asleep.
Noisy and no cold water
The receiving area was quaint and location is central.
So many things wrong. I’m not a complainer or a “high maintenance” traveler. Just want a generally clean place to stay that has working stuff. Neither of these was the case. Will never stay there again. Not even at a discount (which the property offered after I complained...a future discounted rate). No thank you. I also don’t trust booking anymore. They obviously don’t vet their properties and don’t appear to care that they are sub par (found this out after writing the letter below to them:) In late spring, my girlfriends and I planned and booked a trip to central Mexico which included a stay in Queretaro. Technology allows us many choices nowadays to book our travel, including booking agencies, trip advisory boards, and private owner vacation rentals. Regrettably, I opted to use booking.com to reserve a room at Moss Hotel and Spa. While the experience to book was quite user friendly, I consider myself duped to have used a site that is apparently only vested in booking fees but demonstrates very little vetting on their customers’ behalf. I trusted the four star rating of a hotel that is two star at best. While we were able to gain access to the property before our check in time, the rest of our experience has been pretty sub par. While quaint, the first sign of trouble is the horribly boarded up jacuzzi or pool section in the middle of the courtyard. I can get over aesthetics, so I decided it could be overlooked. We dropped our bags and proceeded to come back to the room in the evening to rest. Upon opening the room, it was like stepping into a brick oven. Again, I can understand that the room can heat up in the warm months so we decided to air out the room while we sat in the courtyard patio. After about a half hour of seeing that was not working, we requested a second fan. The attendant (who appears to be the ONLY person on site) returned with an old fan that has a faulty connection. Then it was time to shower.
