Location and restaurant... handy to town food in the restaurant was excellent,
If you have no sense of smell and love using your home handyman skills to repair expensive hotel rooms.....then this is the perfect spot for you! Our room (suite) smelt sooooooooooo musty and soooooooooooo disgusting. You could barely breath in the room without gagging. Given the huge cost of the ‘suite’ I was ever so slightly fk’n disappointed.... however not as disappointed as the tv cabinet doors that were broken and hanging off next to a fridge that had been randomly placed in the room next to this tired broken cabinet. Why? One of life’s great mysteries. When I complained the front desk said that ‘house keeping would freshen the room up’ which I stupidly assumed meant they’d bulldoze it. What it meant was nothing happened. At all. For three days. Other than me holding my breath. The place seemed over booked so I assumed they had used the room as emergency cover. However when I asked for a late checkout by an hour I was told I could not as they needed the room for the next guests. OMG it was a legitimate room. My exact words were ‘you’re kidding right....there is no way you can ethically make another human pay for that room as it’s a total sh#t hole’ They said ‘house keeping would freshen the room up’ The upside is bar does great food and excellent cocktails plus the service is lovely ..... don’t bother wasting your money down the road at The Shed Restaurant.... total hype my 13 year-old makes better food and has less teen attitude than the staff.
We have been staying at La Posada for over 20 years. Although we love the location, the Staab House and the grounds its obvious to all that the guest rooms are not only tired but because of their age they need A LOT of updating and maintenance.
fine, although there was a Bonvoy menu and a regular one,so I chose the regular, since no one explained which I should use or that I was a Bonvoy member
This was my third or fourth year in a row at La Posada.First, trying to book and get the same room I have had was almost impossible calling the facility,Marriot and booking. They could recommend it but, even trying to speak with a Manager at the resort proved to be a problem because I was always referred back to booking.I finally had a friend from Santa fe,see the manager.2.Upon checking in I told the facilitator that my reservations included breakfast. She checked the reservation on the computer which showed not included.I then showed her my reservation on the phone and she set up some elaborate way of resolving it on the final bill.3.We sent for the van on a rainy night, only to find it was so full,I decided to walk back. Two people on the van complained and both they and myself, had the $35.00 day charge refunded with the final bill.4.With regard to the room, one of the sinks did not have a stopper and repair was impossible as they had one the wrong size.Three times we had to call for the room to be cleaned, each time after three o'clock.I spoke with one of the managers, about Bonvoy. It felt as if everything right in the past was now disfunctional.Even the final bill was hard to interpret with the varying room rates even if the final numbers were correct.
It was old and classic Room big and comfy with huge king bed Very clean but room very dark like a dungeon
