We did not take advantage of the complimentary breakfast, as we were just ready to get out of there.
After attending a 49ers game in San Francisco, we had had a long day. We expected to return to a clean room after our long day. The rooms cleanliness was questionable. The room was dusty, as if no one had rented the room recently. To top it off, the shower head did not work correctly and seemed crushed up! No water pressure was available for a nice shower. Very disappointed!
I was surprised pulling up to the Best Western. The location is on a busy intersection in a Santa Clara neighborhood I wasn't sure about. (Lot of street noise.) It did not look like its online pictures. For whatever reason, I did not expect a motel; however, the BW turned out to be nice. The place has been updated and the room I had was attractive. The bathroom was clean and updated. Fluffy towels. Lovely beds and bedding; WiFi was reliable; quality LCD TV, K-cup coffee & tea service; all nice amenities. The housekeeping staff is top notch. Breakfast was pretty good! Eggs, sausage, waffles, along with cereals, breads, yogurt and fruit. Lots of good coffee and nice tea assortment, which was available 24/7 in the lobby - a nice touch. The lobby was pleasant. As I said - not what I was expecting at first glance, but thankfully, pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed my stay.
I was disappointed that the swimming pool was in the middle of the parking lot. From the online pictures, I was looking forward to using the pool, but I felt uncomfortable lounging in the middle of the parking lot. The room AC was outdated and loud. (And there was a power outage in the morning for about an hour - ostensibly due to a circuit panel onsite as opposed to a neighborhood outage.) The rooms in general are well-lit and updated, the mirror is illuminated by tiny LED tape which was very dim -- so the vanity area outside the bath could use more light. Again, I wasn't expecting a motel so that meant the elevators were further away from my room. The stairs were closer so I lugged my bags up the stairs. (Although the stairs are nicely renovated with slate. Looks nice!)
The breakfast was out standing , you gave just the right number of things to pick from.
No hair dryer and wake-up call did not happen.
