The room was very quaint and not super big, BUT was just what we needed! The bathroom was super super clean which is silly, but most places you go it's always just "okay". LOVED the hand painted ceilings and the feel of the place. Felt like we were in a different world:) Definitely a French feel to the place. We did not get a chance to eat breakfast there but want to next time. The location is only a few blocka form China Town, Union Square and The Masonic! I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a cute little room close to everything at a great price!
There's nothing I could complain about at all, we didn't find anything we didn't like(for my husband to not find something is beyond a miracle haha) It was even decorated all like Chritsmas! Felt magical;)
We loved the location, it Was walking distance from Chinatown, the mall, Museum of Ice Cream and so many great places to eat. The staff was so friendly and helpful with everything. The hotel is beautiful, very old designed just like you would imagine a French hotel in 1910 should be. It’s perfect. The bed was comfortable, the restaurant was incredible, the food was delicious. I’m honestly amazed at how wonderful our stay was.
The only bad thing about thing hotel being so old is that they don’t have air conditioning but it gets cold in San Francisco at night and the hotel provides fans so it’s just as comfortable regardless.
The service was spot on as well as the entire decor of the place. Very beautiful and clean. The room was quaint and delightful. I enjoyed the bathtub very much.
The heater was a little hard to use.
Everything about the hotel, it was charming, very clean, the people were very nice, the room was comfortable. Loved the decor and the French influence. I would defintely stay there again and would recommend it to family and friends. Loved the old elevator, reminded me of the one when I lived in San Francisco many years ago. I am planning on another trip to San Francisco in the near futrue and would like ot stay there again. Close to Union Square and stores and restaurants. Want to try their dinner next time.
Dont have any dislikes whatsoever
The ambience and location. A very different experience and obvious pride in which the owners had tastefully decorated each and every room.
Lack of Tea/coffee making facility in the room.
Kind hospitality,
There is no coffe machine in the rooms
There is French music playing near the office. Each floor has the works of a French artist, and we stayed on the Chagall floor - one of my favorites. The elevator was prompt and I enjoyed the old style gate that closed after the doors closed. Very charming. Quite close to Union Square. American breakfast was included in our price; nicely done.

Staffs are very friendly
It was very nice to get an American Breakfast with your room rate.
No blow dryer in the room - had to ask for one, and go to the office to get it.
I liked the friendliness of the staff and the attention to making the hotel a comfortable place to stay.
the free breakfast. Quite a quaint place to stay.
No window view at all in our room.
Convenient, charming and reasonably priced. Includes a well-prepared complementary breakfast.
Would have tried the restaurant but it was quite expensive. No fridge in room.
Location, just perfect
Restaurant schedule
We were very pleased about the location. The hotel was very cozy and comfortable and we would definitely consider staying here again next time we'll be in San Francisco.
Only that the wireless internet connection should be working in all rooms and maybe the breakfast could be improved with more fruit/ healthy alternatives to the eggs and french toasts, which was good but very rich!
