Had a decent sized room with my own bathroom(shower, toilet, sink, storage, shampoo/body wash, and towels). Bed was comfortable, and there was also a big dresser, night stand and TV. What more could you ask for at that price?!? Great location in Lower Haight district. Just a short walk to great bars, shops, and restaurants.
Casa Loma was clean, and the front desk staff was very helpful regarding public transportation options.
Maid service took our dirty towels but did not replace with clean towels.
Ok - so look, this hotel is not great, but for the money, in San Fransisco, it is the best location you are going to get. My partner and I were not looking for anything fancy, just somewhere to sleep which was close to some attractions and, for that, this hotel was fine. The positives are - free coffee from a machine downstairs, clean rooms and that's about it.
I had paid extra for a 'deluxe queen' but this was a big mistake. The room was bigger and had great views of the city, but we were located next door to the toilets and showers, which meant that we could hear doors opening and banging shut at all hours. We had opted for a shared bathroom to save money and we soon discovered that the showers were set on a timer, which was incredibly annoying. At times, it felt much more like a hostel than a hotel. We were located on the 3rd floor, so we had to leave our suitcases downstairs in the receptions back room and come to collect things periodically, as there was no way we could have carried them up that staircase, and no staff members offered to help us do so. It's a pretty weird place, but the location saves it.
Staff are really friendly and helpful. Great location
The noise from the road outside is very loud and the bed is a bit uncomfortable for me
Location was perfect. Just far away enough from the hustle but close enough to be able to walk to the Castro.
