Breakfast was good. Service was quick.
Failure to provide correct bath (face) towels.
Location was great. Staff were friendly.
Rooms were small. Parking was expensive.
the Staff where great, happy to help if I needed anything. The location made it so easy to get to bars, restaurants and the baseball. the bar also had a good vibe.
Excellent location within walking distance of both the gaslamp and the waterfront. We jumped on the greenline trolley and spent part of the day in Old Town San Diego and enjoyed it very much. At night, we walked to the Gaslamp and enjoyed the nightlife with great bars, restaurants and live music. The Sofia is located in the heart of it all and you will not need to rent a car to see the best San Diego has to offer.
The hotel should do away with the resort fee. It isn't necessary and makes the hotel less competitive since many other hotels offer free amenities guests pay extra for at the Sofia. Still a great place to stay in spite of this minor quibble.
Large rooms. Great location near Gaslamp. Great coffee cafe next door.
Room required some fixes; lights, shower head leak, sink drain, sliding bath door off track. All done quickly! Male concierge was hopelessly useless!
The Sofia Hotel offers guests a welcoming stay in a gothic-revival building that was built in 1926. Situated in the lively Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, this elegantly refined and historic hotel offers guests convenient access to San Diego's most bustling area. Any guests who enjoy the opera will be glad to know the hotel is a mere six-minute walk from the San Diego Opera. Of course, guests who aren't so enthused by the prospects of an opera will be glad to know they're close to many shops, bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
Each of the elegant rooms provides guests with designer toiletries to properly outfit every bathroom. Meanwhile, every room also offers guests work desks so they may meet a deadline or work on solo projects during their travels. Flat-screen TVs are also offered in each room for guests to enjoy a wide selection of shows and entertainment. Guests are also offered access to wireless Internet and each room provides guests with a minifridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Guests can upgrade to a suite to enjoy extra living space, a rich décor, and a whirlpool tub to relax and refresh the body and mind.
If guests would like to further indulge in relaxation, they're able to take advantage of the hotel's in-room spa services. Room service is also offered to each guest. A 24-hour fitness center is open to all guests who are looking to break a sweat, even if it's the middle of the night. A yoga studio and on-site restaurant are also offered to guests.
