Stain in the room and surprising parking fees
Water offered in the lobby and safe parking. The location is fine in the old town .
Bad smell in all the three rooms I tried. Also, you feel that they are doing you a favor for anything such as the Wifi and parking space which was suprizing as it was indicated that parking is abalible, but once you check in, the front desk tells you that you need to pay $20+ per night for a parking space. The repetition of Hilton is down in my mind for the experience I had.
A Lot Went Wrong in Just One Night
The common areas and rooms were very clean. The lobby was big and beautiful. Nice Spanish theme.
Original reservation was for one King bed. They have me the keys and we headed to our room only to find two Queen beds. When we went back to the front desk, they said our King room was no longer available because another guest needed to extend their reservation. They said they didn’t have anymore King beds available and there was nothing they could do even though that’s what my reservation was for. Because of this they gave us breakfast vouchers. The breakfast had serve your self continental items but also hot and made to order items like omelette and pancakes. We waited in the restaurant for 15 minutes and no one came to take our order because they were too busy. The shift manager told me I could serve myself.
No continental breakfast
Excellent location to Old Town
Old place. TV's are.....could use replacing. No TV guide....
For travelors that actually travel, and not lounge, then you will enjoy this hotel for it's location. The hotel is two blocks from the transit center. The transit center is a hub for trains, trollies, and buses. The trolley system is fast, and can reach all of San Diego in minutes with an all day pass of $5. The pass is also good for most bus routes. Old Town is a block away, and has the best food in all of sd. Mission Beach is 15 minutes away. I spent my time in the Gaslamp District and Old Town, and traveled with ease! Also, there is a liquor/mini store 3 blocks away for saving on meals, but most of Old Town has happy hours with super good deals on lots of food. Staff was kind, and room always fresh.
The Wi-Fi was a little too slow. The pool was refreshing, but it would have been a tad nicer if slightly heated. The rooms seem to have a pre set tempature, so if you need it hot or need it cold, you're kinda stuck. It felt like it was at 67 degrees. I like it cold, so I just opened the bathroom window and the front window and created a natural draft that made it very enjoyable. I rarely stayed at the hotel though, due to my interest in really seeing the city. Comfy bed, hot showers, plenty of pillows.
Near old town, best price...
Blanket, a little unconfortable...
The Inn was on walking distance from cosy Old Town and the Old Town Trolley station. The rooms were spacious and adequately clean.
The lack of heating in November when night time temperatures drop to about 10°C was rather uncomfortable. Nobody likes waking up in a cold room. Upon repeated requests the staff finally managed to put the heating system on. Unfortunately the heating system had a tendency to set the activate the fire detector.
The staff was excellent. Very helpful, pleasant, and knowledgable about the area attractions.
The room was very old and had cracks everywhere. The restroom was falling apart as well as the tub. There was a weird door that had plants in it. very weird and dirty.
Really like the service. Room was decent and clean. No odors. Best price I can find in the area. Easy parking. Great location.
Unable to get the air conditioning to work. The walls are too thin; can hear neighbor's tv on all night.
The price and location were great. Also, we appreciated their early check in time (2pm). It was easy to get to and close to major freeways.
Your double message is confusing. How can one write anything they didn't like and at the same time not complain? Anyhow, the clerk wouldn't give my wife a print out of our transaction and the total, as we checked out, and he informed her that the actual price of the room varies between us and Booking.com.so he couldn't tell her what it was. I had to go in and request a print out and inform him that the transaction was between us and the motel and not Booking.com. He finally gave me a print out with the total, which was the one we expected.
