Beware — our “Standard Suite” was a small, cold and humid cave on the lower-ground floor with no external window. Tiny bed, grimy bathroom. The only window was onto an internal area which also gave onto the hotel kitchen (noisy and smelly). Barely an internet connection. What an expensive disappointment.
Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly and courteous. Every afternoon we received a courtesy snack/cocktail. Personalized service. Staff gets an A+ on trying to make us feel at home.
They advertise themselves as a boutique hotel, which is far from reality. There is no management at the property supervising. Rooms are very humid. There is no shower courtain or door so the bathrooms remain wet all day. We ran out of hot water every morning. The last day they even ran out of food supplies for the breakfast. The hotel needs to work a lot on how to manage as a boutique hotel. We had the chance to dine at other hotels which were fully decorated for the holiday season. This property had no decorations which is unfortunate having seen the great local craftsmanship on holiday decorations.
Decor was really nice. Hot water under the shower. Welcome drink.
The hotel is at the very top of real the Guadelupe - it is quite a walk up the hill each time. The room was small, dark and cold. The beds and pillows are very hard and uncomfortable. The WiFi was very weak everywhere. The area for dining had heater there but it was never turned on, that meant our breakfast was cold in seconds from when it arrived. I couldn’t make the tea I ordered because the water got cold so quickly it wouldn’t make! The continental breakfast was included in the room rate, each morning we would leave tip on the table. When we were checking out we were shown bill for the breakfast and asked to pay the tip! I’ve never seen anything like that. They calculated breakfast on one morning to 648 pesos (it was continental breakfast but they split each dish, juice, tea, fruit etc separately!) and wanted 98 pesos tip on top of that! Breakfast next door was for 50-60 pesos, or 150 in a better restaurant with your nice hot coffee. I thought it was very cheeky. The room rate was about 100€ a night which is already expensive for the area and for what it was. I wouldn’t recommend staying there.
Location is good. Staff is great. A young team with great energy. The atmosphere is friendly and familial. Service is good
Rooms have no windows, and are humid and dark. Lighting is cold. Internet and cellphone connectivity are lousy. The hotel is noisy and understaffed.
