Great location. Just a lovely, short and accessible walk away from town centre. The building has a lot of character and sports a large and sunny beet garden, perfect for the summer.
Number one complaint was the breakfast. My eggs came out looking curdled and swimming in butter on my toast. When we checked in, the person working looked at us 3 times without acknowledging us, choosing to finish her personal conversation first. The next day, that same employee came into the breakfast room to complain to a colleague about some other workplace matter and later seemed to dismiss another guest when they asked for another coffee mug when the ones left looked dirty.
Location Old historic mill Quiet after the pub beneath it closed
Pub noisy at weekend until after midnight Cold eggs at breakfast Service at breakfast slow Bathroom floor was dirty and lack of shelf space in room 3 Room 3 is directly above the bar and the kitchen behind it so even after the pub closed at 1130 the kitchen staff would be shifting stuff playing music as they cleared up until after midnight
Excellent location by the river. Great beer.
Felt the hotel was being run on a shoestring budget, dirty threadbare carpet on stairs and leading to room, lights by bed didn't work, shelf above sink missing but holes still there, toilet roll holder falling off wall. Shower ran hot and cold and shower head only stayed up when full pressure. Lock to room needed attention. No hairdryer, although we did get one when we asked. My husband said it was quirky, I felt disappointed. Our room was above the bar, speakers attached to ceiling so music thumping until bar staff left so not great.
The area. The fact there was a restaurant and bar on site and a pleasant walk into the city
Couldn't get a Tia Maria liqueur coffee.
Location was good staff friendly overall a very pleasant stay
Couldn’t open window in room a little dated accommodation
