Great location but outside the tourist areas. Beautiful historic building. Wonderful restaurant.
The staff were super attentive, the setting was gorgeous and the proximity to the city centre was excellent, just a couple of minutes walk away.
It was disappointing that the pool was closed as we would have definitely used it. I’ve no idea why they close it so early when they clearly get gorgeous weather and plenty of visitors. Surely there is plenty of time for maintenance in the winter months? To be fair, it was on the booking information that the pool was only open from June 15 to September 15, but coming from the UK, that seems madness!
It’s a lovely old building with excellent modern fittings and exceptional outside space. Really helpful staff. Location is excellent for the old town and really quiet.
Lovely hotel - lovely staff - gorgeous surroundings.
Experience the magnificence of historic Salamanca at Hospes Palacio de San Esteban in the heart of the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel is housed in an immaculately restored convent built by Dominican Friars in the 16th century when the city was at the peak of its grandeur. Within its thick stone walls, sumptuous amenities offer a romantic oasis of tranquility mere steps from Salamanca’s most remarkable monuments. At Hospes Palacio de San Esteban, history infuses every nook. In the restaurant, El Monje, located in the convent’s original kitchen, you can dine on fresh local delicacies, like chorizo sausage made from acorn-fed ham, Then relax with a steam in the Turkish bath or sip cocktails on the terrace overlooking the Old City’s splendid cathedrals and the Dominican Garden. Fetching details accent the hotel’s 51 externally facing rooms, from the exposed dark-wood ceiling beams to lights emphasizing the golden warmth of the stone quarried from nearby Villamayor.
