Pros: Everything is perfect in this hotel. We were warmly welcomed by the staff once we stepped into the hotel, and the service was excellent. The manager introduced us several great tapa bars in the town and we had a big feast there =) The room is big and comfortable, breakfast is really nice too. Secured indoor parking just next to the hoetel is available at a reasonable price.
Cons: WE cannot stay longer in Salamanca.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful property which we have not stopped praising since we left! Its perfect location, wonderful staff, and lovely interiors all made for a wonderful stay. Perfect little touches like weather updates, a pod coffee machine, luxury bedding - all combine to make this a wonderful place to enjoy a very beautiful city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a small, beautiful, elegant boutique hotel that is a bit higher in price than some others in the city, but well worth it. All of the rooms, both private and public, are beautifully appointed and scrupulously clean. The staff are wonderfully courteous and helpful. The breakfast is served in a small room with only about six tables with a large buffet table in the center. Breakfast options are excellent, including eggs, toast and coffee made to order, freshly squeezed orange juice, breads and pastries, yogurt, cereals, fruits, etc. The bathroom in our room had two sinks and a very nice enclosed shower. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable. Both the room and bath had fresh flowers. The location of the hotel is also excellent. Highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel. Good location, friendly staff.
Cons: Everything was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything: location, price, ambiance, staff, service, breakfast, private parking, valet service. No rooms with own balcony; but that’s picking nits.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff, especially the owner or manager ( not sure which ) could not have been more helpful. A mine of information about the city, restaurants etc. Located in the heart of the city it is ideally placed to get to the places to see.
Cons: No restaurant, which means you have to go out to eat whether you want to or not. Parking is a problem too, so booking one of the few spaces at the hotel is a must.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: great small hotel, private, great staff, good food. best hotel in town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel is fantastic - it's less than 5 minutes' walk up to the Plaza Mayor and the other sights of the old part of the city. The hotel is a gorgeous old building that has been sympathetically restored and is extremely comfortable. For us driving, a great bonus was having a pull-in bay right outside the hotel and valet parking. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed with a super-king bed and breakfast was a choice of Spanish pastries/cakes, cold hams/cheeses, fruit and cereals as well as cooked to order hot menu choices - we both had a delicious scrambled egg and morcillo (spicy black pudding) dish. What makes the hotel however is the service. The staff are superb - they are friendly, knowledgeable, super-efficient but also unobtrusive
Cons: There honestly weren't any down points in our one night stay - the only disappointment was that we overslept and so missed our booked in spa appointment but that's our own fault! The hotel offered to rebook right away but unfortunately we had to leave to catch a ferry at Bilbao.
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Nice old building appropriately renovated

Overview Reviews
Experience the magnificence of historic Salamanca at Hospes Palacio de San Esteban in the heart of the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel is housed in an immaculately restored convent built by Dominican Friars in the 16th century when the city was at the peak of its grandeur. Within its thick stone walls, sumptuous amenities offer a romantic oasis of tranquility mere steps from Salamanca’s most remarkable monuments. At Hospes Palacio de San Esteban, history infuses every nook. In the restaurant, El Monje, located in the convent’s original kitchen, you can dine on fresh local delicacies, like chorizo sausage made from acorn-fed ham, Then relax with a steam in the Turkish bath or sip cocktails on the terrace overlooking the Old City’s splendid cathedrals and the Dominican Garden. Fetching details accent the hotel’s 51 externally facing rooms, from the exposed dark-wood ceiling beams to lights emphasizing the golden warmth of the stone quarried from nearby Villamayor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully renovated, perfectly situated for exploring Salamanca and spotlessly clean. A delicious breakfast too.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice historic hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great personnel and very comfortable bed. Excellent location and amazing breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was a little difficult to find because it was tucked away. The breakfast buffet was great and they also served a complimentary made to order breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The building was totally remodeled but had elements of its seminary past. Breakfast selection was amazing. The evening restaurant was excellent. The staff was professional and courteous. It was close enough to the city center, --- there were beautiful green surroundings. We enjoyed our stay at Salamanca so much that we stayed 3 nights rather than the 1 night we had originally planned.
Cons: There was a conference being held the days we were there, so we couldn't use the gym. My only complaint.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location close to the old town, the cathedrals and museums plus the fact that it is a historic convent building. Parkin at 15 euros a day.

Pros: Right next to the cathedral and walking distance to everywhere in Salamanca. Modern hotel with parking underneath. Quiet place.
Cons: Understaffed. Pleasant people, but too few.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel and staff could have not been any better. The only concern was I made arrangements with parking included in price and when we went to check out they asked for 18.50 € for daily parking. When I explained that the price I agreed to included parking they did not charge me for parking. I would highly recommend this place to stay to any traveler visiting Salamanca.
Cons: Other than the parking at check out nothing.

Pros: Convenience to city centre and university
8.8 Excellent
Cons: the heating is on then too hot in the room and has no option
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good position but difficult to find in old town next to Cathedral and university due to one way streets. Underground parking at €19 essential. Quiet comfy room with good bathroom/shower. Meals are taken out as no restaurant in this city hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. 10 mins flat walk to centre Plaza Major. Beds pretty firm.
Cons: For this category of hotel free WiFi very poor1.9 MGBS unless you pay an extra €10 for an upgrade which in this day and age is a rip off. Only one chair in room to sit on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and informative staff. Great views from our room. Fabulous location. Gorgeous city!!

Pros: This castle is amazing!!! Absolutely recommended!
Cons: The swimming pool not open on Oct already!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good. Location good but it needs a better location map. Lovely location, excellent staff.
Cons: Spanish mealtimes! Dinner can’t be obtained before nine pm! There is however a small tapas style collection in the bar or library.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. A bit of a route march to get there if you are of advanced years. The dinner was truly excellent with an equally good wine, locally produced The peace and quiet.
Cons: Another arm chair in the bedroom would have been beneficial.
7.1 Good
Pros: The buildings are beautiful. The pool looked good.
Cons: We were not offered a complimentary welcome drink. The menu before 21:00 is very limited. We were not offered a cooked breakfast as an extra. We were NOT given the choice of currency payment - which was expensive for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is fantastic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was beyond what we expected- such a great deal for an incredible experience!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The castle is beautiful! Staying there, I was able to wander about and explore the rooms. It's located in the countryside, so very quiet, but also near some great tourist destinations like Salamanca. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff was exceptional! Everyone from the front desk staff, to wait staff, to housekeeping was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in Spanish hotels. The dinner was elegant and tasted very good. All in all I recommend this Posada to everyone. I have stayed in many Paradors and other historic places for hotels, but this one is one of my favorites. The staff and beauty of the location make for a memorable experience.
Cons: Dinner was rather expensive. Other than that, there are no complaints. I only wish I had stayed longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before. Always excellent, which is why we return
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: The history / architecture of the place was the attraction. Good bathroom. Dinner was also good.
Cons: Our car SATNAV found it impossible to locate. Written instructions with the confirmation would have been useful. The air conditioning in our room was ineffective. Black stone stairs leading to the bathroom on a separate level are not ideal at night, unless you leave lights on.

Microtel Placentinos - Salamanca - Bedroom

8.9 Excellent (879 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Microtel Placentinos in Salamanca (Old Town), you'll be within a 5-minute walk of New Cathedral of Salamanca and University of Salamanca. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location only meters away from the sights. The staff very friendly. And the room was so cute and cosy.
6.7 Good
Pros: Hotel was centrally located but a 5 minute walk from a car park (26 Euro for 2 days). Room was quirky with slanted ceiling in bedroom. Not too much of a problem in the bedroom, but major problem in the bathroom as you had kneel at the sink to use the mirror or stoop down to dry off after a shower. Salamanca was fabulous however.
9.7 Excellent
Cons: Location
5.0 Okay
Pros: Rocio was very nice and helpful with breakfast, and it was nice to have a breakfast included and umbrellas.
Cons: Tiny room would've been ok but for the small and not too comfy bed; jacuzzi was closed, very disappointing and the shower jacuzzi that could have made up for it did not work. Also a perfumey odor in the room, and no safe in room as advertised, though offered at front desk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
7.9 Good
Pros: Beds comfortable and very welcoming at reception
Cons: Walls paper thin. Noise from other rooms and also what sounded like boiler running at regular intervals in the night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, cozy, great location in the city, parking very close and for a good price! Free breakfast.
Cons: Jacuzzi too cold :-(
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good authentic property
Cons: Room a little small
7.1 Good
Pros: The beds were comfortable ...
Cons: the rooms a very small (accounts for the micro) .... the shower was horrible (water everywhere) ... breakfast was mediocre - soggy croissant, old fruit etc. - and the personnel isn't overly friendly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully appointed hotel, delightful and helpful staff. Breakfast was abundant and delicious in a beautiful space. The room was small, I won't lie, but enough for me as a single traveler to be comfortable. It was very clean and nicely furnished. The bed very comfortable. The location is unbeatable...close to all the sights of Salamanca. Some great cafés (Don Quijote and Mandala) very close and the restaurant Salam, across the street is fantastic!
Cons: There was a bit of street noise from outside, some construction nearby, but generally quiet overnight. If you can get a room in the back, I recommend it. Storage space is limited (in room 12) The walls are thin, and with the hotel being small, you can hear most of what is going on!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing how a small space can be beautifully designed, and fitted, and be comfortable. Public carpark close by. €13 per day. Very much near all we wanted to see.
Cons: Zero
Parador de Salamanca - Salamanca - Building
10
8.8 Excellent (2,994 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Parador de Salamanca in Salamanca (Teso de la Feria), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of San Esteban Convent and New Cathedral of Salamanca. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a relaxing and very comfortable two night stay here at the end of our motorbike tour of Spain. Secure car parking was convenient. The parador is modern and on the edge of the beautiful city of Salamanca, an easy 5-10 minute walk. Our room had a view of the city, definitely worth the small upgrade cost.
Cons: The restaurant was nice in appearance and the food and staff members very good but the service was way too fast. We were there as a couple but as soon as cutlery was replaced after a course the plate was snatched away and the next course arrived. As a consequence it was not the most relaxing of meals.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely big room overlooking the river, with spectacular views of the cathedral. We used the outside car park and had no difficulty finding a space. The hotel is a 20 min walk from the cathedral, down a fairly steep path. We enjoyed the walk, but if you're not particularly mobile, this may be a problem. Breakfast buffet was very good, with plenty of choice. We ate in the evenings in the cafeteria, which was surprisingly good. Would probably book half board next time.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast. Free parking and very helpful staff. Great views over Salamanca and the roman bridge.
Cons: Maybe a bit far for some people. About 15 to 20 minutes walk until Plaza Mayor.
7.9 Good
Pros: Easy to find with a huge free car park, some rooms and the restaurant have a stunning view of the cathedral which is illuminated at night. The restaurant provided good quality food and the breakfast was good because eggs were freshly cooked to order. The rooms and bathroom were a good size and reception and checking out was easy. Strong wi-fi.
Cons: I dislike climbing into a bathtub to have a shower, as you get older this becomes a perilous affair and it would be better if there was a choice of rooms with a bath or shower. Some places of course have both.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and great free parking facilities
Cons: All was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and friendly bar staff, really good bar snacks , spotlessly clean
Cons: Being charged €9.50 for a view of the cathedral
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Parador de Salamanca is a modern hotel, but with fantastic views of the cathedral and old city. The grounds were very attractive, there was plenty of parking and it was easy to access by car. A brisk walk to the old city via the Roman bridge took about 20 minutes. We loved exploring the magnificent old city centre and we dined at one of the many resaurants there.

7.0 Good
Pros: Extremely central and a great place to stay to be close to everything. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: We arrived at night and even though the hotel had sent a note (the day before) I was traveling and did not received, informed us you could not drive to hotel. It was very hard to find.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The convenience of the location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an exceptional hotel. Extremely comfortable bed and linens- spotless in every aspect. Excellent coffee and tea selection. And mini bar included! No $12 bottles of water. Excellent- I hope to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this place was awesome. The rooms have been recently renovated within the last year or so with high quality furnishings and finishes. The room was good size, bed was very comfortable, and they had excellent WiFi. It is in a perfect location right in Plaza Mayor. It was a short cab ride to and from the train station and it is walking distance to all of the main attractions in town. We had an awesome view of the Plaza from our room. The staff could not have been more helpful welcoming us to the property and giving us a list of excellent restaurants and bars in the area. Highly recommended!
Cons: No complaints everything was perfect.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: If you want central, this is it. We stayed in a very spacious room with a balcony overlooking the Plaza Major. Staff were all super friendly and helpful.
Cons: Getting there by car is not easy. You can pull up outside the square and carry your cases up but you have to put your hazard lights on and hope there are no problems leaving your car for a few minutes. Bathroom is of the modern glass wall variety which is fine until you want to pay a visit in the night and putting the bathroom light on disturbs your partner's sleep - style over practicality! Also, not enough shelf space for a bathroom bag even though the bathroom is very large.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. Wonderful staff, most helpful and accommodating and made great recommendations for places to eat, drink, etc.
Cons: No air-con working in the room (due to the time of year) so we found it a little hot and stuffy both evenings. Open windows during the day were fine, but at night were not really an option due to noise. I had chosen a room at the 'back' of the hotel rather than on the main square thinking it would be less noisy, but it wasn't. The market and a constant stream of busses resulted in a flaw in my plan. In hindsight a room overlooking the square would possibly have been a little quieter. Still, it did not really impact greatly on our two night stay, just something worth being aware of.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. For the price I feel a continental breakfast could have been included. Also running out of milk pods when I do love a morning/evening coffee let them down from a perfect 10!!
Cons: Property was perfect

Pros: Good location in a wonderful city
Cons: Nice old building appropriately renovated

Cons: ./.

Pros: Everthing else was good.
Cons: Breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Did not have breakfast
Cons: Bar not open when we wanted a drink at 9.30pm
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We love the location, the secure parking and the room facilities. The breakfast was good, for a reasonable price. Front office staff were friendly and efficient.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our experience at Eurostars was outstanding. Our room was one of the largest we've ever had, with a king-size bed, plenty of closet space, good lighting, and a separate WC area in the comfortable bathroom. The room was quiet, as was the hotel. It's within easy walking distance of the cathedrals, but away from noise. The only quirk is the garage - and you need to reserve a space in advance. To access the garage, you must drive your car into an elevator which descends to the garage. If your car is large, make sure to measure it and see if it will fit in the elevator (the hotel provides the dimensions).
Cons: Driving into the elevator was precarious for us, as our car is wide.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice stay will defiantly recommend
Cons: Did not include breakfast with the stay
5.0 Okay
Cons: I don't recommend the parking lot to anyone. The next day after having paid 15 euros to have my car safe, away from the street, I found my car scratched with probably a key (the whole length of the car was scratched) and the parking lot has no cameras. In this case, I do not recommend anybody to park there. The painting/repairs of my vehicle will cost many stays in this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location and breakfast. Loved our stay.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was excellent .
Cons: We went down to the bar just after seven pm bar was closed for the night and no food availailable e
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A hotel worthy of its high rating. Professional, courteous and smiley staff. Excellent breakfast. Large room and very clean. Location was a short walk to the old town. A great overnight stop.
Cons: Slightly formal atmosphere at breakfast, with everyone looking smart and talking in hushed tones. Felt like one had to mind their manners ;). Not much wrong with this place, but recommend you don't turn up looking too scruffy!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and warm staff. Hotel offers a quiet and comfortable stay a few blocks from main touristic attractions. Good breakfast at affordable price.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was really convenient, only a 10 minute walk from the old part of the city. The parking was also really convenient. The staff was professional and helpful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: really nice clean hotel with underground parking not far from major square and cathedral. i admire hotel marble construction and furniture. thank you very much for nice stay and also recommend to visit auto museum
Cons: nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We generally think the Almeda Palace is an excellent hotel with easy access to old town Salamanca. It has underground parking which is very convenient. It is listed as 5 star and in part fulfils this rating. The rooms are of generous proportions as are the bathrooms and the beds are comfortable.
Cons: However there is a tiredness and need of upgrading to the decor in parts of this hotel. The room we were allocated for this visit was very drab and a stark contrast to the one we stayed in a few weeks earlier. It sorely needed redecorating and the soft furnishings were worn and unattractive. We suspect that the room allocation is dependent on block agency bookings. For this visit the contrast with the previous accommodation was marked.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was ideal . The recommendations given by the person at reception was excellent .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The beauty of the building, the proximity to the old town and our student daughter living in Salamanca. Exquisite furnishings in room, bath, hotel.
Cons: The electronic keycards provided for entering the room stopped functioning after about 36 hours. We got new ones 1 or 2 times each during our 4 night stay. No big problem, but perhaps fixable?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and the room was large and clean. The king-size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, large and very nice - a lot of marble and glass and double sinks. The location was perfect - walking distance to everything (Plaza Mayor and all the sights) yet away from the hustle bustle. Was also walking distance to the train station. Parking at the hotel was very convenient. Lastly, there was a free computer available for guests in the lobby.
Cons: My brother-in-law was given a hard time about ordering just a coffee when he got up in the morning. He did not want to spend for the buffet breakfast since we were going out later.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel location was terrific. not on top of the noise but right near everything.
7.0 Good
Pros: This hotel is convenient for walking from the Renfe train station (about ten minutes by foot) and for exploring in Salamanca. It is right on the edge of the old town. We really appreciated the complimentary use of the computer for internet access. Very nicely appointed decor.
Cons: There were no English language tv channels!!!!! And this is categorized as a five star hotel!???? We understand that every language cannot be represented in a tv menu, but surely this hotel accomodates many international guests and should realize that English is a major language in the world.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Concierges were excellent; taking all problems from parking/stopping/dealing with luggage in very busy area for traffic. This is very important when, like us, we are driving in an unfamiliar and busy city.
Cons: Breakfast area and staff awareness could be improved, but not a major problem
7.2 Good
Pros: Very pleasant and helpful staff, lovely rooms with attractive decor and furnishings, excellent location, large well appointed bathroom, excellent breakfast would thoroughly recommend a stay here!
Cons: Although the car parking good it was rather expensive!
6.8 Good
Pros: Comfortable hotel with good food and in a goold position to centre of city.
Cons: Service at breakfast could be improved - on two days staff forgot to bring drinks (tea). On one morning had to be reminded twice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the friendlyness of the staff; you feel realy at home there
Cons:
7.2 Good
Pros:
Cons: The parking price - 15 € / day + taxes- is too high.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The closeness to the train station and city center. Beautiful hotel and location!
Cons:
