Spacy rooms, pleasant restaurant environment
service in restaurant is poor. Staff is not watching clients.
The "funky" nature of the room design; it retained an atmosphere in keeping with it's past.
I couldn't get a meal until 8.30pm so had to eat elsewhere; residents should be able to eat when they want to.
The hotel is like a film set, very special. Staff are polite and helpful, a rare thing today.
It took me back to the times when passengers (including inmigrants) used it as the main cruise and passenger terminal (old and nice).
I liked it in general
the hotel offered a spacious room with a special design. the location was perfect for our activity in the cruise terminal.
bar was closed to early
A fabulous resturant with friendly and attentive service, great atmosphere
Old style of hotel
Could not open the window (just doesn't work), also no possibility to make a tea in the room - should pay for room service
Sense of history in this old building set close to shore. Great shower
the ambiance is wonderful. we stayed there the night before a cruise with the Holland America Line and as everything inside of this hotel reminds you of the former HAL it was wonderful to stay there.
although the hotel has an elevator in the hotel, the hotel entrance it is not suitcase-friendly. It could be that we have missed the elevator outside the hotel but if that is the case this facility is not clearly mentioned.
The hotel reflects in a fantastic way the early 20th century atmosphere. It's nice to see how the actual requirements for comfort have been matched with the originality and look of the building dating from around 1910. It's worse visiting the hotel as well as the great looking restaurant. Well done.
