When I arrived to B&B Emozioni Romane I was surprised that it was not a hotel and that it was in fact a bed and breakfast inside an apartment building. But everything was great and comfortable. The owner was friendly, polite, and the place did the job. The area of Ostiense is centric and great. Good food all around and the Roma Ostiense station is 5' away.
I did not like that the internet reservation was confusing because they make you believe that you are going to a hotel versus a bed and breakfast inside of a building. Perhaps this had to do with booking.com versus the owners of the place. But if I were them I would make it very clear when people log into their advertising links.
The place itself is good! Good beds, good airconditioning which was super important. The breakfast was fine and it was totally conveninent and nice. I really liked it!
The location is far from perfect. It takes about 20 minutes by foot to get anywhere remotely interesting - it's close to the pyramid, which is nice, but I suppose most tourists would prefer a more central place. Also, it can be confusing to get there the first time if you're not exactly sure how to enter the building complex the B&B is located in.
The property is near to the city center and in a very quiet location, very nice bars around. Good value for money for a couple!
The breakfast is ok, nothing special, but you are in Rome, go at a caffetteria!
The lady who cleaned the room every day was lovely. The B and B is only about a 5 minute walk to the metro station.
The choice of breakfast isn’t really breakfast, just an array of cakes that aren’t fresh. The rooms aren’t noise proof at all, we could hear everything outside our door. The shower wouldn’t stay up so it made showering difficult The water works when flushing the toilet or running taps are loud and sound like somethings going wrong. It’s very hard to find how to access the property, luckily someone on the street was able to advise for us to go through some gates and pointed us to the B and B.
The bed was comfortably firm.
Rude staff. Difficult location to find. More of hostel than hotel. Paper thin walls. Busy area that seemed a bit seedy at night. The woman who checked us in was very rude and argumentative with us. The hotel is actually a hostel. On their website it states check in from 12-2, and when they pressed me for a specific time to check in I said 12, but could not make it. I assumed I had until 2 to get there before I would be charged an extra fee. I arrived at 1:45 and no one was there. I called and was told it would be 30 minutes. We waited in the hot sun on busy sidewalk for her arrival, then was treated poorly. She refused to speak any English with me and argued that she should receive the extra late fee. I refused because I was there during "check in " hours. The room was difficult to locate...in a very large apartment complex with poor signage. Breakfast was packaged breads and biscuits.
