Pros: Hotel is world-class. Everything is done with elegance and sophistication. The hotel itself is beautiful. my room facing the park was outstanding.. bed spectacular. The Spa maybe the finest hotel spa...they have a HOT STONE CHAIR (3)..you give yourself a hot stone treatment just by sitting in it... beautiful dream, sauna, cold plunge, massage/mud room,...and in the beautiful pool... another thing I have never seen ..a standing Jacuzzi...you hold on and the air lifts you...I used it on my back, biceps...lasts about 3 minutes... Now to the breakfast.... outstanding selection of everything...the Baltic countries know fish ..2kinds of herring, excellent smoked salmon...the do a wonderful variation on Eggs Benedict w salmon called Eggs Royale... I have stayed at Kempinski now 3 times... Vienna, Budapest and Riga... while not in every city I travel to...I will seek out Kempinski wherever I go.. I have stayed in all the finest world wide hotels..Mandarin, Shangri La, Peninsula...from my experience....Kempinski maybe the best in world

We knew they had to go somewhere else to get it and then defrost it. It looked like the waitress decided not to deal with that at that particular crazy morning.

Cons: Well, during our stay in the end of September 2019, the weather got really cold and the central heating system didn’t work at all! However, once I asked the nice people at the reception about this, they immediately apologized for the inconvenience and they provided me with an extra heater which worked perfectly fine for us.

The breakfast buffet is exceptional especially since I like natural foods. But there is a wide selection to satisfy any palette. The laundry service is quick. The hotel itself is very quiet. Since the hotel is located on the other ide of the river, we used it to also visit that side of Riga. It's totally worth it, you can find nice architecture there as well. Many people in the comments complain about the carpet - I think that problem is gone, ours was clean and nice, the same with the one in corridor ;) Didn't see any problem with dirt, everything was clean. We had not enough time to see everything we wanted in Riga, so when we come back, we will choose this hotel again, for sure. For the view and breakfast and everything mentioned above!

Cons: Trash were always left in room even berries that were obviously starting to get mold on them, room service only made beds. Massages at spa like my girl described felt like given by "a friend who has never given a massage before". This is the first hotel where even a small bottle of water wasnt provided. You either have to take one little bottle from mini bar which obviously costs you money, order it from room service (1.5 liters water bottle cost me 5 eu) or go look for a shop, this was my biggest disappointment as hotel and the room I had were definitely not the cheapest.

Cons: A lot of people left food in their plates during their breakfast, not because food were bad, because they were over serving themselves. Hotel should put reminders that food should not be wasted. Still not the hotel to blame for it's guests.

Cons: Administration couldn't write invoice despite of reminding them 4 times, they just put responsibility from one to another... They promised that they will write invoice on Monday (2 days after our departure. Despite this issue hotel and rooms is quite comfortable and clean but administration staff should show more professionalism and responsibility to they job and client's.

Cons: We didn’t mind the noise coming from the street as much, as bad odour from bathroom. Don’t get me wrong, bathroom was clean, but the smell, my guess from the shower drain, was anything but pleasant. However, they tried to conceal it with air freshener but these two just made terrible mixture.

Cons: when it was one minute over the time of the breakfast, the staff told us to leave. which was not that nice. they could have taken that time to pick away the food instead.

Cons: Bathroom had somebody's long hairs in various places. I could be cleaned better. Curtains do not block windows completely, so street lamps will shine into the room and people from streets can see what happens in the room. I usually sleep in the dark, so I had to put a towel above my eyes to sleep. TV channels were very limited and some movie channels (like TV1000) did not work at all.

Cons: Hotel wasn't quit what we expected. Hotel security is not optimal, everyone can get to (not in!) any room, including the presidential suit. The bathroom needs modern update and the bath wasn't all clean. Stayed here 3 nights, got beds made up everyday, which was nice. When we came back the last evening, we noticed our locally bought sweets n cookies were gone, which we were very much looking forward to taste. The small bags were ON the desk, not in the bin (no were near the bin either) and it was obvious there was still something IN the bags. Went down to the desk, got told they were sorry, but didn't do anything to offer as an alternative. No snacks during the movie it was. Housekeeping shouldn't be like this!
