Pros: We stayed at the San Giorgio Palace hotel in Ragusa Ibla for three nights. The staff were wonderfully welcoming. The location of the hotel is perfect to explore Ibla and the Duomo and is close to the bars and restaurants. I can’t recommend the hotel enough and would definitely stay if I were to visit Ibla again. Thanks to all the staff for making our visit so enjoyable.

Pros: Staff always friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We rarely stay in the same place twice and this is our fourth time at the Artemisia! The pool is very well maintained and there are plenty of sun loungers
Cons: Air conditioning could be better. Although not the properties fault we saw unattended towels on sun loungers for the first time.

Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff. Patient with directions. Offered good suggestions
Cons: Could not get tv remote even after receiving instructions
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and peaceful place in the silent Sicilian countryside
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Big, comfortable rooms with nice beds, very clean, good bathing facilities, well filled mini bar and little snacks in the room, but we have to mention the breakfast buffet. Sicilians like (fresh) food and are good in preparing it, so Artemisia resort decided to put just about everything on the buffet. Not just one pie, but everyday a choice of 5 different fresh pies, and cookies, and crepes, bread (diferent kinds of course) , fresh fruit , different teas and what not. All prepared and served by a very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The table tennis table and the table football where not really in a very good shape (the latter did not function at all), no balls or very damaged. Standing in 40 degrees celsius in the sun doesn't help and though it is not a big deal, that's something to improve.

Giardino Sul Duomo - Ragusa - Building
5
9.3 Excellent (829 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Giardino sul Duomo places you in the heart of Ragusa, steps from Palazzo La Rocca and 3 minutes by foot from Dome of Saint George. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location, garden and view is stunning. I don't think there could be a more lovely space in Ragusa. Having the pool area was a blessing given the summer heat. The parking is also very easy. The communication with the hotel regarding access and car parking was excellent. The family who own the hotel are focussed on creating a great experience.
Cons: There needs to be more outdoor furniture given the number of guests and the attraction of the garden. Other guests were putting their possessions on sun lounges and leaving for hours at a time leaving others without a sun lounge. We have seen signs in other hotels that Instruct guest not to do this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice pool area and garden in the middle of the old town with parking in front

10.0 Excellent
Pros: High quality in everything : service, food, materials.... Great surrounding with lots of resto in walking distance.
Cons: That we only spent 1 night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location to explore Ragusa Ibla. Incredible views and wonderfully relaxing pool and gardens in the centre of the old town. Attentive staff. We ate at the four cats on the balcony on their recommendation and that was wonderful too.
Cons: Only thing that could have been better was a reading light by the bed. Everything else was fabulous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic view from the peaceful hotel garden, an excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast spread!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: In most ways an excellent place to stay; well located in the old town, modern comfortable rooms that were kept very clean, excellent breakfasts served by friendly staff and a lovely garden with a small pool.
Cons: Because we stayed two weeks we had time to observe the facilities more closely than most guests would who only stay a night or two. Issues included the transmission of noise between the rooms, non-functioning light fittings and poor garden facilities - seats and cushions soaked overnight by the sprinklers, broken loungers, fallen fruit rotting on the ground, fallen tree debris in and around the pool and the lead to the pool robotic cleaner making swimming difficult. In the scheme of things these are minor issues but taken together they marr an otherwise excellent property.

7.5 Good
Pros: The furnishings were very much in keeping with the hotels history.
Cons: No tea or coffee making services. Had to purchase from the bar if you wanted tea or coffee before/after restaurant hours. The rooms are showing their age. Floor tiles in our room in very poor state.

Pros: The staff were lovely. Fabulous breakfast and nice restaurant for dinner. We didn’t mind walking down the steps to town and found a lovely wine bar on the way
Cons: We had an attic room and it was just too hot even with the air conditioner on full. If staying in hot weather I suggest you don’t stay in attic.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We got into town just at dark and had a little problem driving to the facility using the GPS system in the rental car. We found that the street number on the Booking.com website was wrong. Fortunately the manager/host called us to check our arrival time and met us on the street and helped locate a parking space. He did a great job giving us a orientation to the facility and a lot of helpful information about what to do in town, local markets and restaurants.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Easy to park the car within 300m from the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a beautiful clean space. The street it very quiet.

Pros: A beautiful spacious apartment located in a historical city center. Apartment is kept very tidy. We managed to park gratis. A host was very kind to permit us a late check-out. It was a sheer catch. Would stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall a great stay. Really clean, comfy, modern and on a nice street close to everything - a few minutes to a supermarket and the cathedral with lots of nice cafes nearby, and a few minutes in the other direction bring you to the famous view over (and steps down into) the other part of Ragusa. Nice touches like mosquito screens on the windows and daily cleaning of the rooms. Bedside tables with lamps, particularly good shower, everything working well. Easy contact with Andrea on WhatsApp. Would stay again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This accommodation is perfect for stay in Ragusa. It is so close to both old centres and not far from the train station. We enjoyed large bathroom (we got free upgrade from small room (booked) to bigger one). The street is quiet but safe.
Cons: We had fun of narrow doors to the house.
7.9 Good
Pros: Quiet apartment in the old town. Good kitchen with lots of equipment for cooking. Short walk to fabulous viewing points overlooking Ibla. Supermarket close by.
Cons: Apartment with very little natural light, only the front door, but that seems to be standard for ground floor apartments. There was a musty smell, probably as a result of not being aired.
7.9 Good
Pros: We had the entire property to ourselves, the private double room had attick-like features with curving walls, which felt romantic. Good double bed, good air condition, large room, private sitting room/lounge attached containing a small fridge, table, chairs, couch. Excellent wifi speed, good large shower, peaceful location, short walk to Piazza San Giovanni with several good cafes and restaurants, recommend restaurant Basilico, tasty sea-food pasta! Tourist office on edge of Piazza San Giovanni, 20 minute walk down street Via Italia and down long flights of steps to Piazza Duomo with beautiful Cathedral.
Cons: Guesthouse staff wasn't so friendly, gave simple information, but wasn't over emfusiastic. Up steep flight of steps to room. No washing machine or dryer. No breakfast included or extra. No coffee/tea making facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good tips from the host!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable with the towels changed daily. The building was full of character and is in a fantastic location. We would love to stay here again

Pros: Great host. Lots of informations. Very helpful. Excellent breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The interior design of the hotel is very stylish. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very good with some exceptionally delicious local biscuits, jams and little cornetti with pistachio cream. Location is fantastic, very close to the Duomo of San Giorgio and with a stunning view.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming host and staff, lovely house with outdoor area for breakfast and relaxing. Our room was bright and very attractive and had a great view of mountains and duomo (we were in a deluxe double). Also excellant breakfast and the host was very helpful in storing ourluggage and arranging a taxi.
Cons: Water flow of shower was weak but we are aware that choosing to stay in lovely old houses may have this drawback. There are quite a few steps up to the accomadation from the piazza duomo but it is possible to access it from the road above with a lot less steps.
7.9 Good

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, lovely atmosphere and very quiet (in a good way). The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and we both felt very welcome.
Cons: The location would have been problematic without a rental car - most interesting places are a drive away. I'd also say that the cost of an airport taxi was very steep and could have been reduced given the location. Food also excellent but very pricey.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous ex-monastery- beautifully renovated buildings and grounds - everything about this place was amazing.
Cons: It was in the countryside - out of Ragusa so a great base for exploring all the Baroque towns but had to travel.

Pros: Location, the building and surrounding gardens, the history of the place
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner. Beautiful property and surroundings
Cons: Mattress
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff was excellent. The main building is stunning.
Cons: Bed was extremely hard. Cottage very dirty. Found a dead millipede in drawer and it wasn’t cleaned the whole stay. Couldn’t sleep well because of beds.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff, great food, bikes available, beautiful surroundings
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great welcome with a number of personal touches. We felt very well looked after in our stay in this beautiful tranquil spot. The walled gardens around the pool with a bottle of the wine from the vineyard and fresh cherries was the perfect way to relax. Our room had not one but two terraces both with great views. A nice spot with great history not far from Ragusa, although we only left the hotel for our a bike ride around the surrounding fields.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble from all of the team at the hotel, made us feel so welcome, very knowledgeable and helpful on things to do, and impeccable service throughout. The breakfast was an excellent buffet and the dinner tasting menu was superb. We also enjoyed a half day cookery class with the chef in the hotel kitchen which was so much fun, and led to a wonderful long lunch enjoying everything we created! Could not recommend more.

Pros: Location, very central Breakfast ok
Cons: Room noise isolation No parking Noisy air conditionner
5.0 Okay
Cons: The staff were probably the worst encounter we ever had in Ragusa. They were unhelpful, made me feel that they had a "take it or leave it" attitude and actually shouted at my friends.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and kind staff. Nice and big bathroom with good shower.
Cons: Unfortunately the room was not supplied with an iron and the one that was supposed to be given to clients was given to another room so we could not use it. But the staff was very kind about it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful. I caught a bug during my stay and they arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel! Very very helpful!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful buildings and large comfortable rooms. Unlike some other reviews, we had large bathrooms, so maybe should be requested when booking, and we did not notice the noise from the highway. The pool was delightful, large and splendid view and we loved spending some time there after a hot day's sightseeing. Buffet breakfast was very nice and it seems a shame there is no restaurant for dining in. Especially as it is a bit isolated and we found it difficult to get back on the right road after trips to the supermarket. Definitely need Google maps or something similar to get to property.
Cons: A restaurant on site would be great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hands down the best accommodation I ever had in Italy. Impressive breakfast with all kinds of things made by them, a pool with a great view, perfect for sunrise, plus a terrace to watch the moon rise with a glass of wine in hand. Also, beautiful building and courtyard, with some very old trees. Ancient charm and a really good vibe. Will definitely come again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great spot, location and breakfast
Cons: Room not super new but was good anyway
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Personnel très accueillant, lieu très beau, superbe piscine. Bonne literie. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour.
Cons: Big problem of noise with the bedrooms’ doors: when people open and close their doors it makes so much noise. And this occurs in the morning (from 8am to 11am) and in the evening or the middle of the night... not very nice when you are in holidays... we were sleeping in the room 27 and it was so hard to open the door, thus we were also making a lot of noise when we came back in our room. Moreover the personal in charge of cleaning the rooms was not very quiet in the morning (cell phone ringing, lot of noise with all the products, etc...). Finally the trash in our bathroom was not very clean (many brown splashes on it, does not look very tasty... looks like poo). Please note that we had a very nice moment in your hotel and those comments are only for you to improve the quality of your hotel :)
7.5 Good
Pros: Genuine architecture, beautiful view
Cons: Lot’s of flies
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room size was excellent. The swimming pool was great even though it was not heated. Breakfast was good and a delivery service was available for evening meals.
Cons: The shower room was too small. It was so badly lit that my wife could not use the mirror for her make-up or hair drying. The property was very close to a busy main road which was very noisy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view from the separate villa was just amazing. The checkin staff were friendly and polite, speaking excellent English. There was a big supermarket nearby where food for self-catering could easily be purchased.
Cons: The swimming pool was a little on the chilly side, would have been better a degree or two warmer.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the beautiful stone buildings, gardens and the views.
Cons: It was hard to find and the GPS on my rental car went into meltdown... ended up driving around for over an hour before I finally found it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The pool is great. Very nice, quiet and clean location. Breakfast is great and the staff very kindly. It has a big parking and it is close to all important places and towns.
7.9 Good
Pros: The serenity and the ladies in the breakfast room are super helpful and nice.
Cons: The lack of WiFi on our first day. The gym is a bit basic.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay. The staff was excellent. Will surely return
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is a charming cottage house in the countryside. It is surrounded by nature and quiet fields. It is perfect for a nice break. The breakfast was amazing, really lovely local products. The staff made our stay very comfortable given that we traveled with a 2 year old, they were very accomodating and helpful. The pool is fantastic and perfect temperature in a hot day.
Cons: The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and they don't offer dinner every night which makes things difficult if you travel with children. The dinner they offer is very limited so a wider variety would have been welcome.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The facility is in a beautiful location with two lovely pools.
Cons: The facility is noisy. We were woken very early every morning by delivery staff or by the shouting and noise from the kitchen staff or chairs being dragged across the floor. A mat on the floor next to the bed caused us to trip up and is very dangerous. The straw food covers at breakfast are in contact with the food and NOT hygienic. The facility is not equipped for bad weather - the only inside space to eat breakfast is extremely cramped.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms, amazing swimming pools, great breakfast

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This resort is fabulous in all aspects. We would definitely love to visit again! Sig.ra Marisa and her staff were so friendly and helpful at all times.
Cons: It would have been ideal to have a restaurant or a bar.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation very comfortable. Breakfast good. Staff very approachable. Location overlooking golf course very good. Pool close to our room.
Cons: All rooms are in fact houses in their own settings. Given this and distance from closest town it would have been good if there could have been some basic plates and cutlery in each room/house so that it would have been possible to have something to die on in the evenings without having to drive to restaurants.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Setting of the rooms around the golf course with pools, lawn and Patio all in a tranquil environment. The Bed was extra comfy.
Cons: The fact that there is no restaurant affiliated to the hotel is a setback, even if there are restaurants within a short driving distance, the environment is so captivating that it makes leaving the premises an effort. Hot water takes for ever to arrive in the shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect, I will come back, as soon as posdible
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The house was very, very nice. Beautiful pool and extremely relaxing.
Cons: The Golf course was in really bad condition and no discount from the hotel on greenfees.

Pros: A stunningly beautiful hotel with a fantastic garden. My particular thanks to Aldo and Matteo who were beyond helpful in solving transport and room queries. Local restaurants a stone's throw away and steps to Ibla down the road. Amazing breakfast on a sunny terrace facing the garden - what is not to like?!
Cons: Wifi patchy and no bar open on my dates - although expected later this season and will be the icing on the cake.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very stylish and comfy beds! Staff helpful. Great breakfast. Good pool space.
Cons: Lack of attention to detail like at least a shelf in the bathroom to put things- Im it’s desire to be cool and sophisticated, it lacked the finer touches that bring warmth and thoughtfulness. Mezzanine bedrooms hot as air con doesn’t reach the top level!
4.2 Okay
Pros: The hotel itself is nice but we were given a flat let instead of a suite which was apart from the hotel. The Hotel was nice but When we asked to be given a room inside the hotel we were told that the hotel was fully booked and that specific room was booked by booking.com for us. Having arrived very late we had no choice but to stay
Cons: This sort of flat let had steep stairs therefore no lift, No AC, No Internet and the small shower was definitely not up to standard. Definitely not worth all the money we paid, we could have stayed in a five star hotel for that price.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location, the property renovation, the ambience, the coffee
Cons: There is no lift and we were on the third floor with two heavy suitcases ... if you leave your luggage to be delivered, the chances are that it's left to the young lady on the reception desk. It rained in our room (no 14) via the balcony area ceiling.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great ambience and location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Villa Del Lauro is a great hotel and set out over 3 levels. The reason I took a star off the facilities is our room was on the lower level and therefore a bit damp.
Cons: Dampness in the room. Of course we could of requested another room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful Boutique hotel in the heart of time with a wonderful pool and gardens. The staff are all amazing and the breakfast was lovely on the terrace.
