8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to tourist shops, restaurants. Good breakfast.staff were helpful. Comfortable beds. Will arrange tours.
Cons: Too fussy about accepting US currency. Room was small. Towels were not white. Did not perform wake up call as requested.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, very good location and comfortable rooms.
Cons: Superior room facing the street was during the stay a little bit noisy. windows are not so soundproofed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel. We loved staying at Tierra vivo hotels. Good WiFi and great shower
Cons: Laundry too expensive
7.5 Good
Pros: It was close to the bus going to Machu Pichu. Breakfast was very good. We were able to store our luggage after checkout to go to Machu Pichu. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Cons: I was cold in the room. We heard dogs barking outside and baby crying
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked this location we had stayed at a property in Lima that had great ratings and it was terrible. This place was good.
6.0 Good
Pros: Hotel is in a great spot. Close to the main plaza. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
Cons: The light and noise came through into the room a lot. We were on the first floor and it was so noisy. The blinds don't reach the side so a lot of light comes through into the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a very neat and tidy hotel, well located on a pedestrian walkway, but a block from a much busier, noisier one. Here you have the advantage of being close to excellent dining and shopping experiences, without the noise at night. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was excellent.
Cons: I have zero complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice beds. Clean hotel, friendly staff, great location, good breakfast. Lots of filtered water without using plastic bottles. Great place to stay in Puno
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was located in a relatively quiet pedestrianized street but near busy main tourist strip of shops and restaurants which was patrolled by police. The staff speaks good English, courteous and helpful, even organising a taxi van to take us to the airport in Juliaca, 50 km from Puno (instead of a taxi sedan due to possible police road ban). They helped transported our bags in a trolley cart due to roads closure in the neighbourhood to cars and the broken pavement. The room has ample shelving. I like the welcoming all hours water and beverage station at the reception area and the abundant breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. A nice surprising gesture was chocolates delivered each night to our room.
Cons: The beds were high, hard to relax in. For 2 adults with 2 suitcases at least, we'd appreciate extra stand for suitcase, rather than use floor or bed especially when we felt unwell during the time. Perhaps consideration of offering oxygen supply would be desirable for high altitude sickness sufferer like us.

Cons: Dinner could be better, wine is great! Breakfast very slow, but so far ok. Internet problems. Rooms need renovation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a bit away from town which is a good thing. Jorge the owner made our stay a wonderful experience. He was able to provide us with simple options besides going through a touring agency to see the things we wanted to see. He was very gracious and made phone calls for us to a travel agency we were having problems with to ensure the next leg of our trip was confirmed. It was such a relief. The hotel sits high above town with spectacular views of the lake and the city. There are llamas and alcapas on the property which we enjoyed seeing. The owner also has 4 taxi drivers at the disposal of the guest. We are seasoned travelers and this was one of our better experiences. The morning breakfast was excellent and nutritious as well.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel located away from busy downtown Puno. Staff was very accommodating. Locale is bucolic and perfect for those seeking a calm and peaceful atmosphere. No problem accessing downtown due to available drivers arranged with hotel staff.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location near Plaza de Armas, very easy walking distance to multiple restaurants and shops. Staff were very helpful arranging a boat tour of the lake and easy communication to arrange transportation to the airport.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really good location, really large room. Amazing bed! Warm, hot shower, amazing bath! Very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The breakfast had a large variety, but at mediocre quality I would say. The eggs were cold (there was a microwave you could heat them up though), the juice was very watery and didn't taste amazing. The TV couldn't connect to wifi.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: + big room + very clean + fast Internet + friendly staff
Cons: - breakfast was not refilled even 20 minutes before 9 (official end of breakfast time) so we found some empty plates and there were no fresh juices anymore
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, staff are helpful. They stored our baggage as we arrived before check in time which was very helpful. Breakfast was also very good.
Cons: We did a tour to Uros through the hotel that wasn’t very organised. We were handed from one person to another until we arrived to the lake. Not very professional. We were told by the tour guide that we had to pay extra 10 soles to see a second island on a typical boat when it was an optional service and we could have seen the island on the normal boat as this was included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the breakfast to the bed to the wifi to the location.
Cons: Nothing

Ghl Lago Titicaca Puno - Puno - Bedroom
6
8.7 Excellent (1,067 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at GHL Lago Titicaca Puno in Puno, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Puno Cathedral and Lake Titicaca. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Puno? This hotel has facilities measuring 2174 square feet (202 square meters), including a conference center.
4.6 Okay
Cons: The staff told us it was ok to travel even thought people were striking in Puno (and burning things as part of these strikes!!). They did not care about putting our lives at risk and when we tried to resolve this situation with them their only response has been that what can they do - these things happen. We repeatedly asked them if it was safe to travel (as there was no public news of this) and they kept reassuring us that they are an excellent hotel and their staff is very good, trust worthy and reliable. Based on their resassurance and with their team, we travelled with their staff to la paz. A 6 hour journey took us 13 hours without breaks for food and travel and going through various strikes and putting our lives at complete risk!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed. Good food
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Good Breakfast
Cons: Small rooms with low ceiling. Very isolated facility. Purest Pisco Sour I was served.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful tranquil location just outside Puno with fantastic views of Lake Titicaca. Good breakfast and dinner in the restaurant overlooking the lake.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is very tired and had just been taken over by the Sonesta chain. We had not been informed of the change and it did not live up to its billing as a luxury hotel and is overpriced as such. iIts redeeming feature is its views of the lake. The restaurant was ok but not what you would expect of a hotel of this quality. We were left unimpressed that our pre ordered taxi from the hotel to go to the train station in the morning did not materialise and we only made desired time to arrive by the skin of our teeth. Also a member of our party left her kindle in her room and although we communicated this to the hotel immediately, no communication about the device has been forthcoming despite repeat attempts to communicate with them.
Cons: Very tired hotel stuck in a time warp See above
8.8 Excellent
Cons: No box tissue in the room. Just some pocket tissues. We were suffering from cold and needed more tissues, but reception staff gave us only 2 more pocket tissues...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great views from the room with huge window on the lake. Super breakfast with home made cakes and pastries.
5.0 Okay
Cons: It’s one of the only “good hotels” you can stay at in the area, hence why we picked it, as we did not know anything about the area and what else there was. Yes, the view is incredible, however you can see the lake when you take a speed boat to one of the islands anyway. They really take advantage of the fact that you aren’t close to central, and therefore have no other option but to have dinner at their restaurant. We paid around $150 for a lousy artichoke as a starter (we were barely able to cut it as it was so tough), for a “white fish” that happened to be gray, and for a bottle of red wine that they filled to the top of our glasses. Though the restaurant was supposed to be open for another half hour, the staff started organising for the breakfast whilst we were eating, which we found very rude. Also, make sure to check for the additional service they add, as well as the taxes on top of the menu prices! To add to that, the bathroom had human hair on the floor and was not very clean at all. The hotel really needs to be renovated - it seems like a Hilton from the 1990s.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a traditional luxury hotel complete with a big lobby, jewelry shops and upmarket souvenir outlets inside. Everything you will expect to find is there. The building itself is somewhat "Stalinist", a big white Lego brick; however being inside of it means that this is other peoples' problem -- not yours. The breakfast buffet was very good. The service was a bit hectic in a short-staffed yet well-meaning and apologetic way. The absolutely strongest point of this hotel, and the one that is decisive for me recommending it, is the view of the lake at sunrise. It is conceivable that you could get a similar view from one of the other water-front hotels but I doubt it. Also, the hotel has its own little quay where you can start your excursions on the lake from.
Cons: The interior of my room was somewhat dated. It was sort of a faded image of former luxury as it was understood 10-15 years ago. My check-out experience, albeit at 7 am, made me feel that I on one hand was an obstacle that stood between the hotel and their next guest; on the other, a cleptomaniac constituting a flight-risk. It was conducted by a Peruvian version of Basil Fawlty. The check-out process, despite being prepaid, took about 8 minutes and involved sending some guy to my room, presumably to check whether I had lied on my declared minibar consumption and whether I had trashed the room. The field-agent returned disappointed, having found both the mini-bar and the furniture intact. During the waiting time, neither a good morning, nor a word of any kind was uttered - there was however extensive dialogue with the room inspector. Having at long last concluded check out, "Mr Fawlty" spoke his first and only words to me: - "You can go", he said, having already turned his head to the next person in line. - "I hope you enjoyed my stay", I mumbled, and left. I think I choose to discount my check-out experience as a singularity. The people next to me that were served by other staff members seemed very satisfied. I recount the story here mainly for entertainment purposes.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location of the property is really good for a short stay in Puno. Very quick car ride from the hotel to the docks which takes you to Uros islands.
Cons: The reception staff weren't the friendliest or the most efficient. Our checkout was slow and the receptionist was confused as he hadn't added the actual room nights to the bill. The hotel felt dated and gloomy and there wasn't enough to do within the property.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was wonderful and the property gardens and views were amazing.
Cons: An ATM on the property would have been helpful but the hotel arranged a taxi there and back to the bank which is only 10 mins each way.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: location
Cons: Smells like someone has throwing up in the room before us, breakfast was with bad choice of food compared to other hotels, definitely overpriced!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy, clean and quiet. nice view room in front of titikaka lake. Friendly staff.
5.8 Okay

6.7 Good
Pros: Staff were great and helpful.
Cons: The water pressure is very poor and the water temperature keep changing during your shower. A little bit too far from other hoteld
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonder view
Cons: Noisy in the morning with everyone dragging their luggage out at 6 am
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I like the situation by te lake. The rooms all have a breathtaking view of the lake. It is very peaceful and relaxing. Away from the bursting of the city for a full immersion in the nature. The room are super spacious, beautifully arranged, the bed is gigantic and super comfy. I loved the bathtub with a big size. The overall cleanliness The breakfast was super with plenty options (buffet like)
Cons: Primarily the totale absence of communication. I wrote several messages through booking and emails too. But I never heard any feedback from the hotel, and because we arrived quite late at the hotel, it made it very difficult to arrange our tour for the day after. I needed more informations before hand and never got them. The staff at the compter didn’t feel sorry at all and was not very helpful neither welcoming. I was looking forward to my sauna, unfortunately they did not open it, you ll have to ask long time before so that they can switch it on. Swimming pool was really chilly.
5.4 Okay
Pros: View of Lake and oversized room
Cons: You have to pay to use pool, spa, phone, extra towels, and pretty much anything else. Doesn't make sense. Hotel would not allow us to modify stay from 3 nights to 1 night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good selection for breakfast. Showers nice and hot. Vast range of tv channels.
Cons: The WiFi was very intermittent around the hotel, annoying when connection was cut.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is located in a great spot for relaxing and looking out over Lake Titicaca. There is a pier closer to the water that is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset and even get in some yoga if you're into that kind of thing. The food in the restaurant is amazing and I highly suggest the club sandwich! They charge everything to your room at the restaurant so you don't need to worry about having cash on hand to grab a meal or drinks. There is a small town that is a short walk across the road from the hotel. Lots of restaurant spots to sample some local cooking. The wifi was good. Most importantly, that tub was big enough to fit my entire body in to for a mich needed soak after a multiday hike. I also recommend doing the day tour of the lake to visit the Urus and Taquile island!
Cons: While you can use a credit card for the room, restaurant food and souveniers, the day tour and airport shuttle can only be paid for with cash and the closest ATM is a 13 minute drive away. So be sure you bring any and all cash you need for visiting the nearby town or taknig the tour, it is a pain to get more!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Remoteness

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Saff, location, overall quality
Cons: room window facing to internal patio, limited day light
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Next to Plaza De Armas, many restaurants. Hotel itself has restaurant, which seems to be decent, at least breakfast was fantastic. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: Really nothing to complain about. Keep up a good work.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great Location next to all the restaurants Helpful Staff Wonderful breakfast
Cons: Rooms were cool and needed a long time to warm up with electric wall heater
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff, or at least one of them upon check-in was quite odd. We arrived on an early bus and when we got in he didn't even acknowledge us and sort of ignored us for a few minutes, even when we talked to him. He stared right through us. We then asked if our room was ready early and he said no but we could pay him $25 USD to get in, despite dozens of keys hanging on the wall. This didn't seem like a hotel policy but more of an individual one. Once the shift rotated and he left, we were checked in early without issue.
Cons: The stay here was nice. It felt like a bit of an upmarket hotel at a budget price. The rooms, hotel and bathrooms felt like they were a bit out of the 80s but it was all quite pleasant. The breakfast was also better than average.
7.9 Good
Pros: We were only in Puno for the night. Got to hotel at 7:15 p.m., left the next morning at 8:15 a.m. It was clean & adequate for our needs. I guess the location was good. We took a taxi from Poroy train station, and a bus picked us the next day at the hotel. The staff were great. Printed off our bus tickets for the next day.
Cons: The street outside our window was busy, but didn’t keep us awake. Really no problems.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room is big
Cons: The smell of the toilet is not good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, as well as breakfast which was on top on the 6th floor with the views on the city. The hot shower served us well after a home stay at Amantani island. They allowed us to leave our luggage while on one night trip to the islands.
Cons: Everything was great! The only thing we disliked was that our room didn’t have windows, actually it did but the window was looking on the hallway so it was impossible to open it to get some fresh air. Apart from that all was great
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: A little noisy
6.0 Good
Pros: Centrally located near plaza del armes Staff is helpful Heater in room
Cons: hot water was a little spotty

Pros: Our room was large and comfortable
Cons: Wifi was not working. Staff did not seem interested in solving the problem
7.5 Good
Pros: The actual hotel was great, the room was excellent, the elevator worked and breakfast one of the widest ranges I had while travelling in Peru. Even with the construction work revamping of the Plaza de Armas out the front of the hotel the staff assist immediately getting my bag from the taxi down the road as the road in front of the hotel was temporarily closed. If you want a great tasting cheap snack, from the hotel go two blocks towards to lake along Av Del Puerto, left onto Moquequa to Cafe Ricos Pan and for 3 Sol the best chicken and beef empanadas. Compared with 7 to 8 Sol in Cusco or 10 to 15 Sol in Aguas Calientes below Machu Picchu these where the best empanadas I eat in Peru. It is just a pity they put such a nice hotel and empanadas in a town like Puno, which has nothing much else going for it.
Cons: I only issue with the hotel was when they pulled the gas hose up to the roof outside my window early in the morning, being on the third floor the load strange noise court me by surprise. But I didn't like Puno as a place, the lake or the local ripe off restaurants. The Ekekos Restaurant 365 Lima St was the first restaurant I just dumped some money on the table and walked out, I shouldn't have even left the money this place was so bad, it started with an over priced egg cup size Pisco Sour for 17 Sol that arrived in 30 seconds, not freshly made and tasteless, then an uneatable alpaca steak was enough for me. Unlike my previous stay in Arequipa I was very happy to move on from Puno to Cusco and frankly the only saving grace was the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was perfectly located. We only stayed for a few hours and didn’t even get to try the beds out as we had only booked the room to refresh before we travelled on.
Cons: The room has a window that looked at the wall of building next to it. The window rattled constantly with air rushing up through the area between the two buildings. As we were only there to shower and rest up for a few hours I didn’t worry much about it but there was no way I would have been able to sleep listening to the rattling window all night.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: great breakfast. great friendly staff. nice comfortable room. Would happily stay again!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The facility and location is good, super comfortable bed, nice bathroom.
Cons: We arrived in early morning and extremely tired after overnight bus trip, we asked for an early check in, which they have a room available, but being asked to pay $30 USD for 5 hours stay, where the full day stay was only $56 USD. That's more than half of the daily rates they were asking for, from our point of view, its too steep and they probably have many tourists arrive at that hour of the day and they are taken advantage of them because most of them were very tired and had no way to go in the early morning. In the end, she offered for $25 USD, but it's still a lot and we had to take it. We are already paying more than other hotels in Puno, this is definitely overpriced one night stay for us.
7.0 Good
Pros: Only there for one night but the location was good. We had and early start but breakfast was from 0530 and was good.
Cons: The toilet flush was appalling and did not remove waste properly. There was no toilet brush provided so nothing we could do. They really need to address this as very unhygienic and it’s not a local phenomenon- other loos elsewhere were fine.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room/bathroom was okay, according to expectation. Breakfast were pretty good as well. The reception helped me direction to emergency room which was really helpful.
Cons: During my stay the wifi was not working, which was kind of annoying, because I needed to search for some information online. However, the staff said that they are "working on it". Nothing happened. Also during the check in, they kept our passports for a while, because they needed to do paperwork. However, I came back to reception after 40 minutes and they were still not done (there were no other people), so that was pretty weird. Like, we have time for everything, South America style.

Pros: Great hotel. We loved staying at Tierra vivo hotels. Good WiFi and great shower

Pros: Everything from the breakfast to the bed to the wifi to the location.
