Misleading pictures of a mediocre hotel.
Decent views, and hot tub worked as advertised. The bacon, eggs and waffle breakfast in the morning was well prepared, and the piano player in the morning was a nice surprise. Staff were generally friendly, and we had no issues getting questions answers, with parking, billing etc. Weather did not permit swimming, but the pool appeared to be in working condition.
Rooms are extremely outdated and are in desperate need of remodeling and minor repairs. The pictures featured on the website are of very flattering angles and cherry-picked areas that do not represent the overall quality of the resort. Routine maintenance of many things -- sticking room doors, overgrown landscape, non-working fire pits etc -- in additional to very dated rooms, cumulate to a quirky experience I would expect of a smaller bed-and-breakfast hotel. I will not be returning until/unless they undertake a serious remodel and repair effort.
I loved the atmosphere. The hotel was grand. Reminded me of expensive hotels that I stayed in during my Europe stay. I will plan a trip to Prescott with my husband just so we can stay in Forest Villa. I absolutely loved my stay. The hotel itself was clean, smelled nice and staff was excellent! Good job Forest Villa!!
Need a big sign for the hot tub button location
Nice place for the price
It was clean and kept up. Good location.
On employee was a little strange in mannerisms. We spilled some a drink on a table and asked for some paper towels or something to wipe it up with and was told they did have anything. But.. They did in the little breakfast area. Guess the guy had to put his cell phone down and put his shoes on the help us out. We could of just left the mess on the table but we're not that way. We had packed up a bag of trash and I asked where I could toss it? And the employee was a bit snarky about we don't have trash cans for that but I guess I'll take it. I mean geez. I picked up a mess and such and this was that attitude I got. I remember seeing this guy when I checked in and he was all fluster when a bunch of people came to check in. Got to work on handling things buddy. Otherwise, everyone else was very nice and professional. Guess this guy has off days a lot.
Took 18 year old granddaughter there. She just loved it , as I. The breakfast could have been a bit more of a variety but we got by. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Nothing too impressive
I liked the size of the room, the bed was comfortable enough, there are plenty of pillows, ice machine was within close proximity to my room, and the staff at the front desk were very approachable and friendly.
The air conditioning unit blew air that smelled like old socks, wouldn't be too much of an issue on cooler days where it wouldn't be needed, but I'd hate to find out what the heater setting smells like when in use. The sink and bathroom area could have been cleaner as you could see a film from where a wet rag was used to wipe it down. The included breakfast quality was not great. The eggs tasted reheated, the sausage tasted as if perhaps it was past the sell by date, the French toast was cold and tasted stale.
Despite the following slight irritations, our stay & the rate was fine. We had a week of negative events one after another so maybe our/my sensitivity was elevated... but hopefully you can use my observations to become even better than to hear it as criticism or a guest who complains...
1. They boast/advertise a "buffet" when in reality it's continental w/cooked eggs & sausage. I've traveled many years on business & leisure, this is far from a buffet. Beyond that disappointment the breakfast was adequate. 2. $200 fine for smoking yet someone was smoking in a nearby room. The staff was very concerned & could have investigated the rooms in question, but my room began filling with the stench as well as only the section of hallway near my room... 3. Printed out my boarding passes for return flights & received unusable copies due to low toner. 4. Keys didn't work on exterior doors, requiring walking around building to gain entrance, which required waiting for someone to unlock the door.
Great getaway place
Our stay was wonderful. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and quiet. We'll be back!
This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It was so charming and had a Mediterranean feel. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was great! I would highly recommend this over any chain hotel!!
