valet was excellent river walk a nice distraction
everything was just so average i might as well stayed at embassy suites the carpet in the hallway was pretty ugly
Parking outside $30!
As almost all travellers to this location (out of city center) arrive by car, they need to more prominantly warn customers that the actual cost for a night stay includes $30 charge.
comfortable beds, scenery, walking path, restaurant
I asked for a quiet room. I was told I had one but it was near the elevators. I also requested floor 4 or 5 but was told not available. A lady checked in, was told her mountain view room was not available and she was upgraded to river view at no charge, upper floor. this was after I checked in. The staff could have accomodated me but didn't.
Fair
Location was nice. Quiet, nice staff. No room facing the river has a river view, just a view of the trees but it still peaceful.
The rooms are outdated. The bed (mattress)has been used for some time, it was like sleeping in a hole. cleanliness was fair, could be better. Overall it was a solid 3stars no more.
Very nice hotel and use of the spa facilities was a wonderful perk! Loved it!
Great amenities, friendly staff, loved the balcony
Our brunch at the restaurant was awesome. We were so happy to hear that they provided a free shuttle downtown, that was really helpful. The bed was so comfortable and all the towels and linens were super soft and luxurious.
Loved them location. Beds were very comfortable. The spa was great....loved the massage
There was no shared (male/female)whirlpool or sauna areas. Would have used those more if could have used with my husband instead of in the locker rooms as separate facilities
Room was nice and clean the restaurant next door had Goidelic food but is expensive. They have a sweet white wine, it's a chateau st Michele I think that is excellent.
The room is not extraordinary, it's a hotel room, ours had a view of the parking lot. The parking is valet only which I'm not a fan of.
Great rooms
Paying $19 for parking!
spa was very nice (steam room and jacuzzi especially). hotel staff was always pleasant. breakfast was plentiful. good location--very quick drive to downtown portland. hotel was very quiet. beds were comfortable and windows were large (probably better to have a river view--ours was a "hillside view" of an office building).
parking was overpriced--at the very least, having a valet was a little silly (the valet would essentially run across the street to get our car, which we could see from the front of the hotel. also, we came in late a few times and had to park ourselves). the valets were always very nice, however.
Room was comfortable.
Place was far from anything (shopping, business district, major transportation). Also, phone was broken and showerhead didn't work well.
the hotel staff did a very nice job of accommodating some specific requests, in collaboration with the hotel restaurant.
contacting hotel personnel by phone was a chore - I was shuttled back and forth between the front desk and reservations until I found the right person.
The food at the adjoing Aquariva restaurant was superb, as was the service in the restaurant. Limited ambience for a weekend night, however, the great views more than compensate.
The staff lacked execution and follow through. Front desk forgot to make the dinner reservation for the evening of my birthday. The sauna did not function early mornings even though the 'spa' opened at 6am. Despite the beauty therapist being a wonderful conversationalist, the facial I recieved did not deliver on the content information for that facial. A mask applied before cleansing, a gloopy cream to cleanse with steam blowing onto my face for a good 30mins and then a toner to 'close' the pores for a $100+. A week later still no response from the Reception Manager or Salon Manager, as advised by front desk. Not a note from the hotel that it was actually my birthday during my visit there. Extremely poor customer service on all account
The staff was excellent!
Hospitality great room and breakfast spread
The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel offers transportation to and from anywhere within a certain distance at no additional charge. We used the "towncar service" to go to a mall and we were picked up when done shopping. No driving or battling traffic in a strange city. The spa and excercise facilities were very nice and well kept. I would most definitely stay here again.
Would like to have a refrigerator in the room.
The comfort and boutique feel the hotel truly had--and the great driver who took us in a town car, right into our desired destination in the middle of Portland!
It was on the edge of the river and had a nice 2 mile walk in front of it. The continental breakfast was nice and very convenient.
The spa charges were ridiculously high. Charges for valet parking were too high - higher than nicer hotels in the heart of the city.
