10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms, breakfast, swimming pool and the staff.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beatifull fully Art-deco styled B&B. Nowhere we had seen such a B&B which was in 1 style throughout all details, building, furniture, decoration... unique!! Also high level of service and possibilities. You pay for it, but it is worth every penny. (Spa, Cinema room, Stunning Wine cellar,....
Cons: No negative remarks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed at this hotel for two nights. Everything was just perfect. The hotel staff is very welcoming and professional, they will help you in every way they can. The room is clean, spacious and very well equipped. We made use of the swimming pool, free wifi, gym, breakfast, dinner and lunch. We recommend it all. The hotel it self is a very nice and interesting art deco building. The building is restored and furnished the way an art deco building is supposed to look like “luxurious and with an eye for detail”. They have a very nice art collection and information about their art is available. And as a hotel chain the try to think of the environment. While we were there there was an water shortage in south Africa, they explained in a very nice way how we could save water. Best hotel ever!
6.0 Good
Pros: amazing facilities - the wine room, the small cinema, the piano room, there's a spa in-house (didn't try) and a pool, thought it's narrow and unheated
Cons: the hotel was a bit hard to find. Worst for us is that it's not child-friendly for younger kids, and I think the part of town is not very conducive to tourism. The restaurant was also quite mediocre. I especially was irritated to pay for what was basically a tablespoon full of pumpkin soup for the same amount as any full fancy starter. Beware: the spicy stuff is extremely spicy. I also felt like the staff was polite but not friendly and not very customer-oriented. Breakfast was also lousy: sparse and not replenished. We will not go back ever.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Please invest in modern smart Television sets. The Sony Bravia Tv in the suite is from the 1960's. Please subscribe to the premium dstv package not the budget package that you have in the suite. Please add Netflix on the suites. Please clean your stained carpets in your suites.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No5 Mantis is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a boutique hotel to stay in PE. The Business Suites are sumptuous and exceeded my expectations. There’s a pool and deck area / loungers to relax on. The hotel even has a small cinema! The restaurant, food and staff are all top notch - I’d return without a moments hesitation.
Cons: N/A
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The private cinema the pool and the piano . The food was excellent It felt like you were staying in someone’s home .

Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Treetops Guesthouse is outstanding in every respect and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and to recommend it warmly to fellow travellers. Everything I needed was available in my spacious room (with en suite bathroom) and I found the bed most comfortable. There was plenty of space for hanging clothes and storing items, a sizeable desk for working at, a small fridge and very attractive lighting. Tea and coffee was available in the room free of charge, along with fresh milk. Wi-fi connectivity was excellent throughout my stay. I liked the great attention to detail in evidence everywhere. Stephen is a superb and most considerate host and I could not have been made to feel more welcome by him and his family and staff. The breakfasts served were delicious and there was a very good range of items on offer. The guesthouse garden is charming. The location in a safe and leafy neighbourhood very close to the airport is ideal. All in all, a perfect stay and base for exploring Port Elizabeth, with its many attractions. There are also good cafes and restaurants within a few minutes' walk of the guesthouse.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing I didn't like.

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. There was also a bath. The garden was very pretty. There was a well stocked honesty bar/fridge. The room was huge.
Cons: I stayed here 22 years ago and was impressed so it was my first choice when returning to PE. However, the room felt dated and tired. For example the large folding doors to the pool did not open as in the photo rather you had to struggle to open a sliding door in the corner which was stiff and opened only half way. Most of the literature in the info book predated 2009 and the reviews were even older. On arrival I would describe the host as polite but not particularly welcoming. I asked for recommendations to eat but she did not have any and said we should head to Stanley Street but could not direct us as too complicated (we did not have sat nav and no map in room). There were no sunbeds to sit by the pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was pefect. Nice Stuff good breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at Lemon Tree Lane!!
Cons: —
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice area. Comfy bed. Good breakfast.
Cons: Needs updating. All a bit tired. The info in the room was very old and dog eared eg some of the restaurants recommended no longer exist.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I expected a small nondescript b&B, but was pleasantly surprised. Large comfortable rooms. I will definitely stay here again.
Cons: The table in the room is poorly located in a corner of the room. Far from plugs so you can't do any work on it, and you can't have a meal and catch up on the tv news.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely good value. Owners and staff very accommodating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Whole place amazing

4.6 Okay
Pros: Close to the beach and breakfast was great. However, if doing the garden route, I would recommend not to stay in Port Elizabeth, nothing to miss here

9.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a hidden gem in Port Elizabeth. The staff s very nice and helpful. The rooms are secluded in a nice garden with pool and the rooms are very romantic and styled. It has everything you need to have a romantic stay. Breakfast is nice and complete. Dinner has limited choices and quality is not spectacular compared to the rest of the lodge.
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us on any issues or problems we had during our stay.
Cons: The TV in the room did not work for our entire stay which was disappointing.
7.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was average
Cons: breakfast -quality of food was average, eggs were not as requested. the aircon does now work in the dining room and make breakfast extremely unpleasant
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff exceptional, no managers/owners to be found to raise issues though. Kitchen very good food quality Cleaning services
Cons: The paper thin walls that disturbed sleep from 5am in the morning plus hearing the neighbors. All windows were closed too. Shared geyser that can get cold from other guests. TV that is smaller than 10 inches
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff was please, breakfast was well, though the counter with the fruits, cheese etc, was not well covered from insects.
Cons: The smell when entering the premises - I understand they had just poured fertiliser or something, but entering the main receiption area, with the smell, was a no-no. The door to the kitchen wouldn't open properly - you had to really bang it open with your shoulder. The bathroom counter light was not working - there wasn't even a globe in. We wanted to watch the cricket, but the dstv was not working. Reception had a look but could not assist.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Different but enjoyable, toilets, showers in perfect condition. Tv fair quality and in working condition. Sufficient TV channels
Cons: Garage light not working, and door from garage into the property was not locking, when you come at night you walk into some dark bushes for a couple of meters before you can feel safe..... Also the tap for the basin in the room was too high, you end up messing up the floor because the water sprinkles all over the place

6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is part of a large group of hotels and adopts a 'corporate' style and approach to its business.....after a while you get to accept the Protea/Marriott way which does not vary very much from place to place. The hotel was built when large -for South Africa-rooms and expansive public areas were the norm..the one restaurant is similarly large in area. I liked the comfortable seating areas on the mezzanine floor and also the area outdoors overlooking the sea (smoking area) which was also on that level. The breakfast was buffet style and adequate....the waitresses excellent.
Cons: The hotel does not offer a lunch service and the bar snacks were very poor. The restaurant dinner was buffet style with very overcooked and tired vegetables.....the selection of desserts left over from night one re-appeared on nights 2 and 3 until they were finally taken. The 'Marriott' influence seems to show itself in terms of room pricing....any increase in demand for rooms seeming to lead to a price hike.....strange that ,as with more guests the fixed costs of the hotel should be more easily covered and there was no sign of additional staff being on hand to assist.
